Maven Construction, part of BuiltMaven.com and formerly DS Siding installed a full new roof in…read moreAugust 2022 at my home in State College and refused to come look at the leaking roof 2 years later stating there was no longer a warranty. Sam at Maven Construction who installed the roof as DS siding, required $250 to come out to look at the leak for a service call and stated it wouldn't be covered regardless of what he saw. The 2 separate and independent roofers provided me with repair estimates and both found the leak to be from installation error, poor workmanship, a lack of properly installed flashing, exposed nail heads, damaged shingles from walking during a hot installation, and a negated manufacture warranty from Owens Corning due to incorrect installation. Shoddy workmanship as the leak origin was confirmed by the insurance adjuster. Sam has not rectified the situation, the damages incurred, nor the improperly installed new roof. I do not recommend Maven Construction as they provided inferior and subpar work and do not stand behind their installation with a sufficient roof warranty. 0 stars. Do not use.

It's a very nice house that sits up on a hill but the driveway is so steep that it can't be used for anything except to drive right into the garage and when you do that all you see is the ceiling as you pull in because your pointing practically straight up in the air as you get to the garage. You can't park in the driveway or wash you car in it either. It's totally ridiculous, dangerous and a blatant rip-off. We looked at an already built home a few doors down that was for sale but didn't purchase it because that driveway was very steep. When Musser did a lot walk around with us we stated that we DID NOT want a driveway as steep as the one on the house that we previously looked at. Musser adamantly said,"no worries it will never be like that". He was right. It's worse! If there's snow or ice on it you can't clean it or down you'll go, literally. And of course you can't drive up or down on it when it snows since it can't be cleaned. I think that when the neighbors across the street know that I'll be coming out to attempt snow or ice removal they get together to watch the show and place their bets to see how long it takes for me to go sliding down the driveway on my butt. It's so bad and sad because our elderly parents and some of our older friends can't walk up it. Bottom line, it affects the value of our home and all kidding aside its dangerous. We attempted to contact Musser but we never heard back from him. I guess in a way it's partially my fault for not getting it in writing and holding him to his word. Let's face it I screwed up I trusted him.
