He helped me figure it out based on where we were in relation to the highway, a local restaurant, a gas station, and a McDonald's! The dispatcher gave the tow truck driver my cell phone number, but he found us right away without needing to call me. The driver was very friendly, chatting with us while loading and unloading our vehicle with ease and driving smoothly to our destination. I bought a used alternator for $45 a few days ago from Brinckman's. First of all, the owner has a…read morevery bad attitude. He was very reluctant to answer my questions; he acted as if waiting on me was inconveniencing him. Before I paid for the alternator I specifically asked him if they test them before they sell them. He replied, "Yes." So, trusting him, I bought it. After putting it on my car and finding out that it did not work, I took it to Auto Zone to have it tested. They said that it did not work. I called Brinckman's and told him about the alternator not working. He said to bring it in and he would test it, and if it didn't work he would replace it. I brought it in to him and he tested it and said that it did not work. Then he went back to the testing machine and "grounded it" and showed me that it did work, he just forgot to ground it before he tested it he said. He also said that Auto Zone does not know how to ground my kind of alternator. I called Auto Zone. Their reply: "Their testing machine automatically grounds when it tests." So once again trusting Brinckman's, I put the alternator back on my car and it still does not work. I went into Brinckman's today to tell him about it and get a replacement (like he promised). He said, "Auto Zone does not understand how an alternator works. I'm not going to compare apples to oranges and I'm not going to dispute this any further." My reply, "So basically there is nothing you can do for me?" Brinckman's, "I can credit the $45 from this alternator to a new one" (which he says is $145 and I price checked around and they are $94.) His reply to my saying I price checked and they were not that much: "Mine are lifetime warrantied." I said, "So are the ones I price checked." He said, "Well mine are not." So, basically the owner of Brinckman's promised me a working alternator, wether it was the original one I purchased or a replacement one and is now saying there is nothing he can do for me unless I purchase a brand new one from him. I will never shop here again. The owner's attitude is horrible and his word is cannot be trusted.

Last week while on route from Chicago to Travers City MI, about a 6 hour trip, we discovered a…read morehuge gash in the sidewall of one of our Bridgestone DriveGuard tires, about halfway through the trip. These are run-flat tires designed to be driven up to 50 miles with no air at all. As a result, cars fitted with these tires are not outfitted with spares, nor do they contain spare tire compartments. The problem was the nearest shop with this tire in stock was 42 miles away. Enter Dustin at Grand Beach Towing. He arrived at our location in minutes, secured our car with great care, and drove my wife and myself to a location 42 miles away. While in route, he told stories about accommodating groups with more people than he had capacity to carry in his cab, by having friends and family to assist in transporting them, because he didn't want to leave them alone at a strange location. He is a great guy, and really honest. I would recommend him to anyone, including family.

I was yelled at by two different people. I stood outside their business for 30 minutes while they ignored me like children. The lady on the phone hung up on me multiple times. The guy at the shop told me "fuck u" I left literally shaking. I will never call this number again and I'll advise others not to do so or u might get ur car held hostage like I did. They were so quick to respond and got to us within 30 minutes told us all the way to South Bend, Indiana to where I can get a tire to replace the blown one. Perry the driver was the most friendliest understanding, helpful tow truck driver. I think I've ever experienced in my life. I had my two great grandchildren in the car age is two and six months so this whole experience was scary, but I'll tell you, Perry and the Indiana towing company handled it so wonderful kept us calm reassured us that everything was gonna be OK and of course it was OK. We got the tire replaced and one on our way and finished what we were shopping out there for, but I tell you if I ever run into a situation where I need to be told the Indiana towing company is who I will call first and foremost, the best, the quickest and the most accurate towing company I have ever dealt with.
