This review has taken me from May to post as I tried to find a replacement.....this review starts with a love story, that lasted five years looking for a complete 1964 turf rider golf cart. on finding the cart I was soooo delighted and wanted to update the cart as soon as possible ( street legal lights) I contacted Ace golf carts (they where a lovely couple) we spoke about the work and how I wanted it to look as original as possible.......... A month later and after some pictures sent about the light updates and wire changes she was ready to be delivered home again........... To my horror the original rear parcel tray was missing!!!! they asked for pictures of the tray (see pictures) after some calls and text they informed me that it was normal for items to fly of in transit!!!! So why not inform clients of this prior to pick up?? Also why are this company taking local golf carts on the 10 freeway!!! wow !! (my cart has a canvas vintage roof, that thankfully wasn't tore of on the freeway) Nice couple but wow why not tell clients prior to transit (as i was informed it happens all the time after the fact) to remove anything thats not secure, especially items that have been there from the 60s!!!!!! This was my first cart, and an iconic original that has been ruined by this company forever! Not sure why I'm having a hard time finding a quality golf cart business. I saw a listing on Craigslist for a Gem Car. I contacted them with a few simple questions. The ad states the car would come with brand new batteries. I asked what make and model batteries. Also, what wheels and tires are on the car? The reply was " Trojan or Deka" and they provided the tire size and brand. I appreciate the response but why respond if you're not going to answer the questions. I replied and asked again. I even noted that they gave the tire info but not the wheel info. Anyways, when I mentioned that they did not answer my questions the response was not very professional. If they can't answer simple questions about the product they are selling I'm definitely not going to give them my business. We had a golf cart reupholstered, seats added to the back, and railing attached so we could put a solar mod on top as the roof and make it solar powered. Laura was very helpful and always got back to me quickly. The other staff was knowledgeable and offered good advice when I was trying to pick out the fabrics, and they pick up and deliver! (Which is a plus for us as we don't have a trailer.) We did encounter a problem when it was delivered, but Laura's attitude and helpfulness turned the situation around. These guys are great, and I'm so glad I found them. First, we have used our other mechanic for years, and when he went on vacation, we needed our car fixed, so we saw this nice looking guy on his webpage and decided to give his business a try. At first, their price was higher than what I'm used to, but our friends at Sun City Palm Desert heard of Ismael being 'the best', so we went with him. Thank goodness - our mechanic (of late) always serviced our cars (the annual service), but really didn't do much (hence, his low price). Ismael showed us our linkages, which needed grease badly, and also showed us other areas of neglect. Where do i begin...i was employed by ace and now i am currently fileing a wage claim on them with ca state labor board basically he lets his mechanic smoke a million ciggerettes a day but wudnt even let me check a text without gettin on me. Here are some of their practices; painting cart tops that are used an sellining them as new...keeping customer wheel locks so they are forced to continue bussiness with ace..and dont forget the secretary with no experience with mechanics that diagnoses cart issues improperly.
