I use to paint houses myself until my health no longer permitted me to do so, I am very critical and walked around my house multiple times daily looking for mistakes I found none. when I picked the color for my house it turned out to be more yellow than my wife liked so we asked Adam how much it would cost to re do it. I fully expected him to give a very high price, he did not. The price he charged to fix my error in color was more than reasonable and fair. Also, I needed some moderate repair to my roof near my chimney and his worker, Doug was very knowledgeable about roofs and agreed to do the repair, again I was expecting a much higher cost than what I was charged. The repair was done quickly and professionally. Adam and Doug had to replace several pieces of old rotted wood on my home and again, the job was done with extreme professionalism and at a very fair price. After Adam and Doug left, my neighbors were quick to comment on how great my house looks with fresh paint, the efficiency and accuracy of the work Adam and Doug did was not lost on my neighbors either. If you are looking for an excellent painter that wont price gouge you look no further than ABC Painter. As I said the other painters I got quotes from were ridiculously priced, one wanted $10,000.00 for the same scope of work Adam did for a fraction of the cost. And I'd be willing to bet that I would have found many mistakes with the higher cost painters. I say this because I know from my conversations that the owners of those other companies had no intention of being on site, and no one cares as much about his/her business as the owner. Adam was here every day and nothing was completed until Adam had looked at it and it met his approval, he genuinely cared about my home and the quality of work that he and Doug did. So if your looking for a painter, do your self a favor and call Adam, you won't regret doing so. In the initial site visit/estimate we got to learn about Hansen painting co in which Jerome after 30 years of industry experience started his own company. Jerome was friendly, easy to talk to, detail oriented, professional and had a great sense of humor! He ensured in our meeting that we understood his process and had a clear understanding of the work he includes - as well he made super helpful suggestions regarding paint brands, finishes/sheen and helped my wife build confidence in all color selections. Jerome scheduled the work 2 weeks out. The first day they taped, covered everything and got right to it. I live down in Ferndale, and in July 2020, our basement got hit with the second round of…read morecatastrophic flooding in the last six years. Cool. After professional cleanup, the headache of dealing with an insurance adjuster, and the due diligence of meeting with multiple contractors to get bids on putting the basement back together, we went with Rentz Remodeling and Contracting. And wow. The difference between someone like Matt Rentz and other contractors we've dealt with has been night and day. A selfish part of me wants to keep this knowledge to myself, in case we need him again, but he's too good NOT to share. First of all, his bid was extremely fair. Since we were dealing with repairs and not an elective home remodel, we didn't have a ton of money set aside. Just what was left of insurance after a not-great cleanup crew charged us through the nose. Matt detailed out everything he would do to fix the basement, with line items for both labor and cost of materials. There was no guessing or having to ask for more detail; he came prepared with paperwork and was always extremely open about what everything cost. Secondly, he and his crew were incredibly polite and professional. In a pandemic, having new people in your house is always a little anxiety-provoking. The first thing they did when they arrived is put up a plastic zip door between the basement stairs and the rest of the house. And they never came through it into the main house. We worked out a system where he would text if he needed to ask any questions, which meant I could go anywhere in the house without worrying that I couldn't hear them if they needed anything. But for the most part, they came and went according to the needs of the work, and I didn't have to do much of anything at all. Thirdly, Matt and his crew are not just great contractors, but good guys. We had a problem with the hose discharge line for our sump pump freezing over during a cold snap, so my husband had temporarily removed it. Matt noticed and pointed out that he'd seen excess water leak through basement walls before, and texted with me about potential solutions we could try ourselves to keep it functional through the winter. Not an upsell--but just because he had knowledge he thought we could use. I'd recommend Rentz Remodeling and Contracting to anyone. (I've already given his name to a few friends.) And the next time we need anything done around the house, these guys are at the top of my list. A++, 10/10.
