For being on the smallish side Sweetbay has a lot of different Vegetables and Herbs, but not so many Varieties. For example they have Squash, Zucchini, corn, beans, peas etc, but only one or two Varieties/types of each. Even though the owner was busy, he gladly took the time to answer my questions and did not make it seem as though I was taking up his time. All in all I live a hour away so I would not run back to Sweetbay, but if I was in the area, I would gladly stop by again.

Thomas Tree Farm is a good choice for finding an affordable choose-and-cut Christmas tree. As of…read morethe yesterday (the day after Thanksgiving), the tallest trees there were only about 6 feet, but you get the pick of the entire farm. Basically, they hand you a saw and cart, and they might guide you to where you might find a specific type of tree (we passed Fraser Fir, Douglas Fir, Blue Spruce, and White Pine). All trees, regardless of size or type, are $40, including tax. Traveling to the tree farm was a good adventure, but we probably won't go again, mainly because I think we'll be able to find at least the same quality trees closer to DC. If you're close, though, it's a good place to get a tree.

We drive up from Parkville, and it takes us longer to get there( about 45 mins.) than it does to hike to the White Pine area . They always let you glean /clean up the left behind branches from trees not cut to ground level. And, the tree is cut up for mulch/flower bed cover until April, when it is put thru our chipper....and the lower trunk is saved to be burned on the next Christmas Eve... Looking forward to our ride up and the picking out of a GREAT tree....

I had to call multiple times just to get the quote. There was nothing wrong with the snow blower and was only looking to have it cleaned. They then required that I pay $45.00 to pick up both machines after refusing the work. I had the work done by another company that came to the house for half the price, including blade sharpening and the carburetor did not need to be replaced as I was told by Liberty Discount. They are too busy with sales and commercial customers to bother with the little guy. Don't bother. There are other options.

Now, she put together a plan to minimize the water flooding our backyard and ruining our grass so that we'll have more privacy and NO maintenance for our lawn and foliage. It included installing schip laurel trees that would spread across our back fence to provide privacy. She also installed - or shall I say her workers installed - a groundcover that was to spread across and keep weeds out. She said all we had to do was apply Preen each season, which we did religiously. Unfortunately, the ground cover was overtaken by weeds each of the past two summers and takes hours upon hours of weeding since we cannot mow over it all. The attached photo is just a tiny fraction of the weeds I pulled this mornin Two of the trees drowned within a year. Her team replaced them and now they've drowned again. We did have record rain over the past year. Linda did say even though it has been over a year since the install that she'd replace the trees with a more hardy variety that can withstand the water and revert our lawn back to grass, it has been two months since we discussed that and we're still waiting for it to happen. She cited that part of the delay was that they were really behind between all the rain we've had and a stall in getting her non-U.S. visa workers lined up. It took a long time, but Linda's team came back last year to replace the trees and they are finally flourishing!

And then again the following year, to plant bushes along the side of our house as well as a potted evergreen for our deck. The hardscaping came out beautiful; however, when we noticed it starting to crack, Linda Luke and her crew manager kept putting blame on us and then began ignoring my calls and emails. So I went to a local stone store to ask for their opinion and they said the crack was caused due to a lack of drainage. VG did not create proper drainage options for the hardscaped flower bed, causing the stone to crack. We are now left with a dilemma of either leaving the 7' crack as is or spending over $1000 to have the other stone company fix it properly...all because Linda would not take ownership of their work. In addition, our potted evergreen began losing it needles immediately and, once again, they did not take ownership of the issue and continued to ignore our complaints. Bottom line: Be aware, guaranteed work doesn't mean follow through and customer satisfaction.
