Order a rock delivery and didn't end up with what I really wanted. The cashier was rude and acting as if I was I was bothering him. I shouldn't have made the purchase. Won't return. When I got the rocks, the guy just dumped them and if I hadn't heard the truck wouldn't have know he was there as I had requested a noon delivery. Bad customer service. read more

This place is fantastic! I drive the extra 20 minutes because the staff (Joe especially) are so helpful, the product selections are top notch, and their prices are better than VVF. I've done many projects I wouldn't have normally tried (polymeric sand, ton and a half of decorative stone delivered, edging, stone facade, etc), thanks to Glyndon Gardens. I have not purchased any of the greenery, but that's next on the list as we redo our front landscape. read more

I've shopped here numerous times over the past few years. Beautiful center. They do carry a higher end inventory, which means you will pay for the higher end inventory :) The staff has always been extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. I had Glyndon Gardens service on 03/06/2019 for my fireplace. Technician was polite, friendly, and competent. The technician thoroughly checked out the fireplace, took it apart and cleaned all parts, fixed the problem, cleaned the inside and outside of the glass doors. I believe in good customer service and when a customer walks in the door the business should at least Greet the customer because your acknowledging someone has walked into your establishment. The place itself is nice & the employees are very helpful but for trees & shrubs, they are seriously overpriced. In some cases, their prices are nearly double that of other local nurseries! If you're looking to buy quantity, take my advice & shop around. I actually returned greenery to Glyndon Gardens because the difference in price for the same items & quantity at another local nursery was over $700! Glyndon Gardens has such a wonderful selection of flowers, hers, shrubs, outdoor furniture and decor, garden supplies, they really have everything! We also bought a large amount of mulch from them this year and were very happy with the quality and price. I went there today looking for a plant I saw on Pinterest that two other garden centers didn't have. At the other places I was just told "uh, we don't have that" but at Glyndon Gardens I was actually told that plant doesn't grow well in Maryland so no where locally would have it. The person helping me then suggested a few other plants that closely matched the original one I was looking for and I bought 8 of them. The person helping me loaded a cart, brought it to the front, and even laid plastic in the back of my car before loading the plants. Everyone was so helpful and the prices were great! read more

Visited Glyndon Gardens on April 3 to discover that they already had on display an abundant selection of shrubs and gorgeous perennial ground cover plants. The Spring specimens of everything are outstanding and an expert named Bob courteously answered all of my questions. I needed a plain Forsythia for Spring planting and they had a couple dozen tall ones, still flowering, at a reasonable price. Bob tied the one I selected and brought it to my car and loaded it carefully in for me and I planted it that same afternoon. I also bought a couple of perennials that I'm keeping inside until the frost danger is completely over. I'm actually looking forward to going back to Glyndon Gardens again, despite the distance, because of the quality and variety of the plants. Just seeing their selection has given me several ideas to beautify some of the unused planting beds. read more

Used to shop here and spend a couple hundred dollars every year. Customer service was lacking, but eventually you were able to find someone who would begrudgingly help you (after doing a Mr. Humphries style look around to see if they could claim to be too busy). Last year had a really bad experience and just gave up. I later called the owner and they acted like I was a jerk for wanting someone to wait on me. So I decided to start shopping elsewhere. Recently, I was in the neighborhood and needed a bag of potting soil, so I decided to give them a try again, hoping the last time was an aberration. Unfortunately, they still make a religion out of avoiding their customers. Tried to find someone outside, but when they spot you coming towards them, they quickly turn and go off elsewhere. So, I go inside where I figure there has to be someone who is manning the register. As I approach, two employees get into a conversation and won't look at me or break in their conversation. The only other person in there walks in wanting to be rung up. He looks around and tries not to be rude and interrupts them asking where does he get rung up. One girls says I will ring you up here, the other girl looks at me coming over ready to ask a question and quickly darts out the door, as I follow her, she ignores me and runs into a shed that says employees only. At that point I give up and leave. I am not going to chase employees around to get them to do their job when they should be seeking out customers to serve. Nothing has changed, and the bad customer service is not an aberration. I had talked with some of my neighbors after the last time, and their experiences mirrored mine and they too have stopped going there to shop. There are simply better places to go. read more

It pains me to leave this because we have bought from them once this season and everything was lovely, but after today, I personally won't return. We called to check stock on trees. We were very specific about what we wanted. They confirmed they had them and the price for delivery. We said that we would be up to pick them out. When we arrived, we discovered that between the person who answered the phone, the person in the field and the person who discussed delivery, the same information wasn't conveyed. They did not have the four we specifically asked for, but one. Two of the three people were very quick to claim that they never said how many they had, or quoted a price for all four, and one employee snapped at us. We asked about ordering the tree type and variety and were told that they don't provide that service but if the trees "happened" to come in, they would let us know. We gave our names and left. It was close to twenty miles out, and twenty miles back. We had a lot of time to think about this. But after finding the trees at a different nursery we purchased those. Normally, I would leave a three star review. But they were so quick to blame us and seemed so uninterested in trying to help us, I cannot justify the miles to patronize them again personally. My suggestion is that if you call them looking for stock on a specific item, be clear about type, variety and number of items. Make sure you get names of the people you speak with and ask then to ask the nursery employees to verify everything. They have lovely items. I can't say you won't be happy, because I am sure that you will have a pleasant experience. Ours was not, and we can only speak to what we experienced. read more

After reading the review from 2015, I was reluctant to go to Glyndon Gardens with a question on my apple trees so I went to another nursery first. I am SO glad I went to Glyndon Gardens afterward. The first place gave me very bad advice. From the moment I arrived at Glyndon Gardens, the staff was polite, friendly and helpful. There was an employee at the register where I headed first and when I requested to speak with a "plant expert", she immediately got on the radio and asked Lynn, a certified horticulturist, to come to the front to help me. I waited less than 5 minutes for Lynn. She was able to assist me and even helped me select a safe, organic and reasonably priced product for my trees. I will definitely go back to Glyndon Gardens and would recommend them to anyone without reservation. read more

I recently purchased firewood from Glyndon Gardens which is wet, chunks of knots that could not be split and mossy bark. When I was frustrated that it would not burn after several attempts, I was told by Kevin that I could not expect wood to burn the first year I purchase it because it is wet and needs about 8 months of covered storage to dry out. Is this the standard in Maryland? I can tell you it is not what I have expierenced living in Vt and NJ. According to his logic I cannot expect to use my fireplace the first year I am living in Maryland. Well, needless to say this arrogance caused them to lose my business forever. And I am glad this occurred before I purchased my $3000 wood stove insert from them. It did not take me long to find another dealer of Enviro woodstoves at a lower price. read more
