Really nice apartments. Not really for me, but ladies in front office were really nice.

Current resident here. Unfortunately, the experience over the last year and a half has gone downhill significantly. When I first moved in, this was genuinely a lovely place to live, but the current state of the property and management response has left me extremely disappointed. There are constant hidden fees, and community features are frequently broken or out of service. The front call box is regularly down, and security concerns have been a major issue. Someone entered the property and drilled a hole into my truck's gas tank, and I later found out the security cameras were not operational at the time. The only response I received from management was essentially "sorry for your luck." Since then, I've also had neighbors shooting bows and arrows that landed on my balcony and broke my flower pots, and I've had packages opened or tampered with by other residents. I've attempted multiple times to escalate concerns and contact IDM directly, but you just end up stuck in a call tree with no real resolution or accountability. The only "apology" I've ever received for these issues was four car wash vouchers I can't even use. I've lived here longer than most of the current management staff, and it's frustrating watching a place that once felt welcoming become such a negative experience. DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!! It was a decent (albeit poorly built) complex 5 years ago, but the management has changed drastically. Acero has moved onto their next fast build faux luxury living space. The overall upkeep is vanishing, along with safety. Common areas like stairwells are never cleaned or maintained. I spent 5 years there and they really planned to stretch out the life of their cheap carpet to another owner, or at least they charged me as if this was the plan. Their carpet beetle infestation alone should require them to replace it more routinely. If you do choose to live here, do not expect to get your security deposit back...they have to offset all the evictions they're seeing. They also broke the law waiting 31 days to even tell me they found a way to charge me more money. They then immediately began harassing me about collections so I couldn't even seek legal help. Also don't expect any leniency on rent if your plans to leave get delayed. A top floor apartment serves no purpose when the construction is so cheap you hear every conversation beneath you. Assigned parking is great to have, but not when spots are so tight you cannot get in or out of your car. read more

Currently a resident. I cannot imagine signing another lease here. I just signed in September 2024 and have to ride out the current contract. I live in a unit half the size of my last apartment but somehow my electric bill is more than double? Poorly built units. Not to mention that the water/sewer is inconsistent. Meter readings reflect from previous months to when I didn't even reside at this property. It is 11:02 p.m and I can currently hear my downstairs neighbor snoring. Stay away from this property. I have lived here for 3 years and this place is horrible. I have faced sexual harassment from a vendor, been repeatedly ignored and condescended to, and dealt with 2 floods in less than 2 years. IF you want to be disrespected, gaslit, ignored, condescended to, and belittled then be my guest, move here and ignore this review. If not, please read this. The property itself looks nice but is poorly constructed in the extreme. Not only can I hear activities of daily life such as bathroom activity from my neighbors, I have had multiple other problems. Which brings me to why I am writing this review; On January 16th during the ice storm several pipes burst, flooding a total of 14 units. Mine, as my luck would have it, turned out to be the worst, per the Belfor vendors. I know pipes burst and floods happen, it's life. However, not only was this the SECOND flood in LESS THAN 2 years, the way the property handled the situation was horrible. Not only did it take over an hour to stop the flood, I had to call 3 times over an hour and a half before it was stopped, and they didn't get into the unit to assess the damage until 2 days later. I lived with industrial dehumidifiers and air movers in my apartment for what felt like forever, I received no communication from the property manager, and since I have raised my concerns and tried to get help or compensation or something to feel like I have been heard and respected, I have had nothing but gaslighting, condescension, and disrespect from the management team. They won't work with me at all and try to make the miniscule effort they do put forth sound like they are doing me a favor, rather than causing me grief and stress. I have half of 2 walls torn down, a massive whole in my ceiling, baseboards ripped out, and exposed fiberglass insulation currently in my unit, which caused my cat to hurt herself by getting fiberglass in her eye (which the manager I talked to wouldn't even listen when I tried to tell her!). But because I requested to vacate, they are refusing to work with me. I won't go into details about what was decided on as compensation other than to say it is the equivalent of putting a 'Band-Aid on a bullet hole' or whatever the saying is. I have spent the past month in tears and living in a unit that is unlivable and will have to be completely redone. I worked in construction, I know exactly what needs to be done to fix this unit PROPERLY. However, all the property manager said all they would do for the walls was patch them and slap some paint on. So good luck if you get this unit, I don't envy the inevitable mold buildup you face, visible or not. The one bright spot in this whole situation was the current assistant property manager, Arrielle. She deserves a raise with all that she has had to deal with. She was the only one who attempted to help me and tried to communicate. She showed nothing but compassion, understanding, and respect for my situation, and was the only one that made an effort to make me feel heard and helped. She should go to a different management company where her skills will be appreciated because IDM is so not that company. I apologize for the long post, but this had to be said. So move in here at your own risk, and don't count on anyone in the management team to help you. read more

They have good parking availability...that's the best thing I can say about this place...Stay Far Far Away..they may look nice but looks can be deceiving...very Dishonest management and poor maintenance and cheaply built... they came in to my apartment without my knowledge then leave me a stupid notice on the door after they made their entry while I was at work... Back dated the notice ....then they had the nerve to say on the enter notice that they were doing an inspection on my apt to see if THEY would let me re-up my lease here... my lease is not coming up for months... No way in blank I would re- lease here again. Found out from a close friend who needed to break their lease two months early due to a dying family member... Even though Acero Apts have people waiting on a waiting list to move right in to his apartment they would not let him go early and take care of his dying family member. ..WOW..They told him that he would still have to pay them two months worth of rent if he broke his lease which would of cost him about $3,00.00 even though they would of rented the apartment right away... probably from more than what he is paying now in rent but all they cared about was Doubling the rent income on that apartment for two months what a bunch of crooks... the managements response to him was well we give you nine months to pay us the two months rent if you leave so what more do you want...Hello Dying Family Member... Took me over a month to get my dishwasher fixed and it still was not fixed... Maintenance man told me the dishwasher was working fine..well is still doesn't work... you can hear everything through the walls in your neighbors apt...They used very cheap building Materials ...no insulation between the walls...you can hear your neighbor sneeze or potting or anything else they might be doing.....the Windows don't close properly so the cold wind comes in the apt.... and these are brand new apartments !!...Really... Oh yeah one more thing... People do not pick up after their dogs around here ...there is dog poop all over. Even though they do supply poop bags and trash bins for the disposal... i'll give them thumbs up for that....be careful where you step ..you might bring home a smelly surprise...lol.. If you do happen to have a dog and your dog sadly passes away like mine recently did ..lung cancer ...heart breaking...they still charge me PET RENT.... all they care about is the MONEY...They don't care about the residence... I've spoken to them three times about removing the Pet Rent.,,and they still charge me !!!... greedy greedy greedy.... Since I been here..just a short while ...Acero Apts have increase rents on some of my neighbors also have increased water and sewer rates... which you pay to the management ...But when you like to know a breakdown of what the monthly bill is they can't tell you...My Yelper brothers and sisters be aware.... read more

Although we've lived here less than a month, we've had a renters insurance policy the entire time. We've sent in proof of such on two separate occasions. You emailed us today at 5:17 p.m. saying you were going to fine us $25, which you did, if we didn't provide proof of insurance again. I'm confused as to why you chose to escalate things so quickly. We're still waiting for the move in packet the office said we we're supposed to get. Had you contacted us, and gave us longer than 43 minutes to respond, we'd have happily sent the information again. Don't we pay enough for rent without being fined for things we didn't do wrong? read more

My name is Carl West and I was not happy how the apartment complex handled our walk through and our deposit. They told us that we would have carpet cleaning at about 60.00 and they get a discount from the company because of how many units they have. So we should of got back most of the deposit but they also took off for painting and cleaning fees and charged us for two laminate flooring pieces without looking at our walk through sheet where we wrote down flaw already. We cleaned our apartment spotless before we moved and they still charged cleaning fee. I would not clean when you leave because they will charge you anyway. So be careful. So we got back less than 100.00 out of 500.00 deposit. Plus the air conditioning unit never worked or cooled off our apartment I Saw other tenets using window unit's to get cooled off. Hey folks - just giving you a heads up . When you move out don't clean or worry about damage. My wife and i kept our apartment clean and damage free . they still nitpicked things and charged 185.00 cleaning fee . 65.00 carpet cleaning fee another 60.00 painting fee. by the time they deducted fees .we barely got a quarter of our deposit back. We've rented many times before and have always gotten at least half to three quarters of our deposit back from other apartments. the manager will leave a note on here saying please contact me and we can talk about it . But I've already talked to her and still didn't get anything resolved. She told us that's just the way it is. So again don't waste your time cleaning because they will keep most all your deposit. Great pet friendly apartments! Friendly staff. Only complaints are that others don't pick up their dogs poop (Annoying since we live on the end and everyone takes their dog right there), and that the apartments themselves were built with cheap materials. The complex as a whole is quiet and everyone who lives here has been friendly. The maintenance is prompt when a work order is put in, and the grounds are well kept. As far as apartment complexes go, it's a great place to live. read more

This place is truly great, I've been here since almost the beginning of the property opening. Its so beautiful and its been fun to see it progress and finish. The staff in the office has changed some but everyone I have met is so nice. Every time I call the phone gets answered and they are always so delightful. I am thankful to live somewhere I feel comfortable, safe, and cared for. I saw that there were some negative reviews on here but I would say it sounds like some people have 1 negative experience and that's what they base their opinion on. Take their opinion with a grain of salt. Apartment living sometimes comes with people who might not treat the place as good as you do, but from my experience the staff is quick to fix something if I mention it. The area is nice and quiet, they are pet friendly, clean, the maintenance team is great and we love where we live. We will be here much longer. read more
