The beach stretches out nicely so even when it is busy you can still find your own space. The sand is soft, the water is calm, and it is perfect for swimming, walking the shoreline, or just relaxing and soaking up the sun. We also enjoyed seeing the shells along the shore which made it even more fun. The park itself is very well maintained with clean facilities, plenty of parking, and easy access to the beach areas. There are also nature trails that give you a chance to see local wildlife and enjoy a quieter side of the park. Everything about the visit felt relaxing and well organized. It is the kind of place you can spend the whole day and never get bored. Easy 5 stars and one of the best beach spots in the area.

Let me just say, it's also an AMAZING place to see the sunset. Due to the quarantine, the small parking lot (fits about 6 cars) was full, so people parked on the green Pasteur across the street. This parking lot is between Sunnydale Dr and Sunset Point Dr. It also has benches to sit on, and a sidewalk that goes well into Dunedin's Main Street. The tide was out, and we were one of three cars when we pulled in. I decided to see what was going on down by the water side. A guy was fishing, there were a lot of little crabs and I found a large painted rock down on the water's edge. I took some phots and then came up and decided to walk, because the park is not just that parking area, its all that edge water area. There are benches, there are palm trees. It's really just a nice area along Dunedin's water front that make this such a plesant area to be in.

On each road you find water fountains for the dogs yes because it is quite hot and once you get tired of walking with your dog almost at the exit they have a closed and quite wide area with seats and certain obstacles for the dogs to play climb and ride. Anyway, my Oliver loves the only thing that we get out of there very dirty by the sand although at the exit they have a hose to clean his legs. Highly recommended, I assure you, you will love it. We take our little dogs to the dog park, which is separated into areas for small dogs, medium dogs, all Dogs and big elderly dogs. There are multiple playgrounds, a splash pad and basketball courts, plus tons of open green space. There is also a large area, shaded by beautiful oak trees. It's beautiful to see families make use of this neighborhood park. Great job, City of Clearwater!

We took a picture of the map, and I'm glad we did, because it would be easy to get turned around in there. Unfortunately there is no great flow to the walking paths and trails. Many of the trails intersect with each other, and while well-marked, we found ourselves just walking aimlessly. The bodies of water we passed were murky, and the swamp smell was pretty strong. Also, one of the boardwalks was closed the day we were there, so we couldn't explore that area. They do offer disc golf there, which I think is a cool idea. Plus, there is a free butterfly garden in the park, although nothing was blooming in it so we only saw two butterflies. One of the things I enjoy most about Florida parks is all the wildlife you get to see - and that did not happen here; we saw one heron (or egret?) and that was it. It is very well maintained for a free park, though, so if you're in the area you should stop in and experience it.

Even Coco, our 19-year-old queen, turns into a zoomie machine and runs around inspecting everything like she owns the place. My wife grabs an ice-cold Coke and settles in for the best doggy reality show in town, while I crack open a beer and play endless fetch with our Border Collie -- because apparently his "off" switch is still in the mail!
