We had The Best time at Honeymoon Island State Park today. The sun was out. The beach was full of people. The water was a perfect temperature. It turned out to be a great day. We sat in a great spot. Had our chairs and tent. Brought food and listened to music. We also swam in the ocean. Great family time for sure.

We came here on a day when it was 38° and 35 mph and there were us and 3 cars. The ferry to the neighbor island wasn't running but we didn't come for that, we were hoping to see to some gulf flurries! However the case, the beach was beautiful and there is plenty of parking. There is also a dog beach. I was traveling with my dogs but it was entirely too windy to for them - next time! The beaches looked stunning in the weather.

Excellent beach! Excellent bathrooms! Excellent walking path across the causeway! This was a more relaxed area and a great place to lay out with chips and sandwiches for a beach day. They have places to hose off feet, bathrooms, water fountains, and ample parking. Soft sand and a well maintained path. Would recommend!

This beach was clean but did have some shells and seaweed. There were some folks fishing on the side. They have showers and restrooms. There are areas to hike, swim and even a gift shop. Not one of the clearest beaches in the area, but definitely a must visit beach if you don't mind the traffic.

A gorgeous state park that never fails to give me some beautiful sights while I am visiting. The parking fee is reasonable here at roughly $8 but it was a little cheaper last time I was here because I was arriving a bit later to just watch the sunset. It was a little less but I can no remember the price unfortunately. The park is always clean and there are many different areas that you can visit while you are here. They have some very pretty nature walks as well as gazebos that you can sit and rest in to escape from the sun and heat. I love that this place always has some amazing shells that I usually end up collecting because they are just so pretty! The sand is very fine so be ready to be taking some of that home with you as well if you decide to visit the park as well. The beach also has a dog friendly area and it is very nice to see all the dogs and owners interacting while they are enjoying their day at the beach!

One of the most beautiful state parks in the country. An actual island with nice beaches and great sunsets. Picnic'd out and kayak'd around the island. Made a full day out of it

A wonderful state park. There are trails to hike, especially if you like birds like eagles and Osprey. You can see turtles as well. There are nice beaches. They are clean and well maintained. The nature store has unique items for sale. I bought a magnet and ornament that was made by local people. We paid $8 to enter the park, which is very reasonable.

2nd beach stop exploration. There's still a bit of crowd but not as terrible as the Clearwater beach. Some things I don't like are people are still too much here and some parts of the beach shore is rocky and hurts the feet so be careful. What I like about this beach is the little sand bar where the water is not very deep and is great for children to play in and to walk in a little bit of the ocean but not have to submerge in.

Honeymoon Island State Park has 4 miles of beaches. It's on Honeymoon Island which is near the city of Dunedin. In Florida, it is the most visited state park with approximately 1 million visitors per year. It's located on the west coast of Florida on the Gulf of Mexico. I loved visiting the park! It's so serene and the beach is large, clean, and beautiful. The parking lot was huge too. I think the name is cute; apparently there used to be honeymoon huts back in the day, which were built to entice newlyweds, hence the name. It's a beach and a park, so you can sunbathe, picnic, fish, and hike. There are pavilions, bathhouses, concessions, and even a ferry to the nearby Caladesi Island. I visited the park as a tourist and as a Floridian, many many times. It's always a great time and a beautiful place to visit. I recommend sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, water, snacks, and an umbrella because it does get super hot. We always make a whole day of it when we visit.

Great beach location on the gulf coast. Perfect for families. There are several parking lots with beach access. Each lot has access to restrooms and large stretch of white sand beach. There were also food trucks there the day we went and we enjoyed a yummy gyro. The other food truck was doing tacos. Really easy to park and take your stuff to the beach. Many people had the little beach wagons. Lots of little gazebos setup. Plenty of beach to build sand castles and collect shells. If you walk further down the beaches, you get further from the rest rooms, but have plenty of room to spread out and have greater privacy. No lifeguards on duty. Nice ocean breeze and waves. We'll definitely go back with all our gear. We were in Dunedin for an event and drove over to see if we liked it.

The island has beautiful or neon green water depending on the time of day/year. But when it's beautiful it's beautiful. Definitely bring water shoes because some rocks are obvious and other rocks sneak up on you. My sister slipped on an underwater rock and scraped her entire leg on the other rocks. You are able to get to caladesi island via a ferry from honeymoon island for a fee. There is a gift shop and restroom on honeymoon island and it's very nice for a lounging beach day.

This is my favorite beach! I love that they allow dogs, and so does my dog lol. They always have parking available even on the most crowded days. The beaches are all so beautiful, although some are a bit rocky, so I do recommend wearing aqua shoes. It's a great place for children and families as well as it's not too rowdy. I went the past two weekends and it was gorgeous!

Beautiful natural beach. Laid back and less touristy than clearwater. It is rocky for the first few feet due to the hurricane destruction. The bathrooms are under construction as well as the cafe house. We went in July 2025 so months later and they are still working hard on repairs. Do not let it stop you from visiting. Just prepare yourself with food and lots of water and shade umbrellas and chairs.

Absolutely loved this island!…read more I have an annual pass for state parks so I didn't have to get into honeymoon island itself. A short drive to the paying booth for taking the ferry from honeymoon to caladesi. It is $20 dollars but they do take military discount too! The two guys on the boat are very funny guys. The captain loves to tell dad jokes and the other tells you fun facts about the islands. It's a short ride to caladesi. Once we arrived there was lots to explore however my friend and I just had a beach day. There is construction going on due to the past hurricanes but there is bathrooms, a cafe, and plenty of shade and trails! I can't wait to go back and explore more. The ferry takes off from honeymoon every hour and from caladesi every half hour. Highly recommend a day trip here!! Water is so nice.

Beautiful beach that has tons of shells…read more This beach is emptier than others because you have to take a ferry to get to it and you have a four hour limit. We aren't major beach people, but I got really interested recently in finding shells. We were at Clearwater Beach and didn't see a lot of shells so I did research into where we could find an abundance of shells and this was one of the beaches that popped up. They have so many shells, but all the shells are very similar. They are the clamshell looking type. So if you're looking for a variety of shells, I would suggest going elsewhere. However, I was super excited to find all of these shells. We ended up getting buckets full of them. You pay eight dollars to get into honeymoon State Park. Then you follow the signs to the parking lot where it is $20 per adult and $12 per child, five and under are free, for the ferry ride. The ferry ride is a boat that is actually quite fun for the children. It's about 10 minutes and in the morning, you can see dolphins and the ferry will stop to look at them. They can fit about 45 to 50 people on each boat, and they do fill up. The first boat is at 10 AM and leaves every half hour after that. You can rent two beach chairs and an umbrella for $35 and they have food and drinks that you can buy on the island. Since you can't bring carts most people travel light so we didn't bring shade or seats. Being that our whole goal was to find shells we weren't sitting much anyways. It is pretty empty. This is not a packed beach at all and we were there on a Saturday in the summer so prime beach season. The sand is white and fine and the water is beautiful. If you're looking for a beach that isn't that crowded I would highly recommend coming here.
