We've been going to Achieve Speech for almost 2 years now. when we first started, my son who at that time was newly diagnosed with ASD, barely had any words. We were referred by the Regional center for my 18 month old who is not saying any words. December 19 first appointment. I confirmed in a GROUP TEXT with Naomi the owner and Michaela who is doing the speech therapy. (From the beginning it seemed strange why the employees are micromanaged in group texts) Michaela was very nice and my son liked her a lot she told us it will take SEVERAL appointments for them to ASSESS WHAT HE LIKES AND HOW TO APPROACH WITH HIS SPEECH THERAPY. We went a total of 3 times, one time I had to cancel because my son was coughing a lot, I was doing the right thing as a parent not to take him somewhere and get others sick! but they told me TO COME IN ANYWAY! as long as there was no colored mucus...now I understand why BECAUSE THEY WANT TO SUCK MONEY FROM THE REGIONAL CENTER. Another time I didn't make it I had a family emergency and I couldn't contact them to cancel because it was an EMERGENCY. I FELT HARASSED BY NAOMI BECAUSE SHE TEXTED ME FOR HOURS TREATING ME LIKE A CHILD AND SAYING SHE WAS SO WORRIED ABOUT US. After that on January 24 Michaela tricked my into signing a paper which resulted in them...DROPPING MY CHILD FROM SPEECH THERAPY ON JANUARY 31 BECAUSE I TEXTED THEM THE DAY BEFORE HIS APPOINTMENT AND MENTIONED I HAVE A REALLY IMPORTANT DOCTOR APPOINTMENT AND NEED TO RESCHEDULE. I'm happy not to be with them anymore because all she did during 3 appointments was bring toys out from a box for 10 min then she spent the remaining 30 min blowing bubbles and saying "bubble" ( I can do that at home too) I asked her why is it taking many appointments to start the actual "speech therapy" she said because many children are unresponsive to therapists I said well my son made excellent eye contact with her, loved to play with her so it shouldn't take that long , wasting our time then dropping us because I had to reschedule. I can't believe the way Naomi sucks money from the county for useless appointments that have no improvement , no results, then after she sucks the County's money they will start to help your child. I'm so excited to share my stellar review for Achieve Speech! Naomi runs a truly boutique clinic that really really cares about your kid! We were blessed to have been paired with them from Regional Center after another clinic couldn't meet our needs with working-parent friendly hours. Right away, Naomi worked with us to create a schedule that worked for us. It's also the little things- I always get a friendly text reminder the day before a session, and they invite me into each session to learn tips I can use at home. We've been so happy here that we stuck with them after my daughter turned 3. Cheili and Alice and all the clinicians we've met are fantastic! They are so kind and flexible and positive. I love the one-on-one sessions tailored just to my daughter with all the things she loves: music, bubbles, and every toy you can think of. They also have a great sensory gym they incorporate into sessions to help get the wiggles out. Everything is SO toddler friendly and SO autism /neurodivergent friendly. Most importantly for me, they are clearly experts in working with autistic toddlers. My daughter has autism and is non-speaking. They have helped us incorporate our daughter's AAC speech output device into each session. They celebrate every little win with us, whether it's a verbal sound or words using her AAC. We have never felt anything but love and empathy and teamwork from them. I'm truly tearing up writing up this post. Being a special-needs parent can be tough. At Achieve, they were able to educate us about the mechanics of speech and gave us the tools to continue our progress at home. My son C has been seeing Naomi for almost a year now. From the start C took to her. In the past it always took awhile for him to warm up to someone new, but with her there was instant connection. It was truly a gift to find Achieve Speech. My daughter was a little over two years old when she started with Cheili.
