My family and I went into the SLO store a few times on Saturdays. Every time we were there the staff with the dark short hair is rude, doesn't smile and unwelcoming. She ignored our questions and walked away. We saw her yell at those working under her. After what we experienced in that store we won't be returning. No one wants to shop in a store with an employee like that. read more

There's some deals here. Many prices below retail. Clean and organized. Lots of china, dishes, glassware, and books. Worth a visit if you are in Morro Bay. Most thrift shops in this area are retail or higher due to vacation destination. Not this one. I visited most of them, this one is worth the time. read more

This is the "classiest" thrift shop in Morro Bay. Nicely organized and it supports a great cause. The Achievement House dedicates itself to people with disabilities and provides them with training and tools for this thing called life. Prices are as expected, sometimes a bit high, but thrifting is not necessarily cheap or thrifty these days anyway. Occasionally we'll find some great treasures in here, but even those times that we don't, we always have a really fun time looking around. The help has been friendly, for the most part, and helpful when asked. I never pass this place up when I am in town. Sometimes I leave with a few items and other times I just leave with a happy feeling of browsing around some odd and old stuff. Thank you! read more

Yuk, the store in Morro Bay is FILTHY dirty. The workers don't let me shop they followed me around talking incessantly at me instead of cleaning or pushing a broom. One worker there would walk up behind me and patting me on my back and rubbing my back. When i complained the manager lady shame'd me saying that the worker was hearing impaired!!! As if that excused him rubbing my back. He did that twice and the other workers were constantly tell him to go back in the back room because thats were he was supposed to be working sorting the donation for the floor room. They got rid of him after a while. 75% of the clothing should be thrown in the garbage and they never brought back the two dressing rooms after covid to try stuff on. on top of all that they bumped their prices. I dont go there anymore. I would rather shop the sales mark dow sales at target or tjmax. read more

My favorite thrift store at Morro Bay. And it's for a good cause. (Note to self: Bring donations to them when visiting the coast! ) I wanted to go shopping while we were there recently, but I didn't want to break the bank. We stopped by a few other stores on Morro Bay Blvd, then found ourselves at AH. There were a few other shoppers and employees when we arrived. They didn't mind at all that we had our little mini schnauzer with us. After browsing the perimeter and housewares, I went to look through the jeans. Not a huge selection, which can be overwhelming to me. Just a few racks to hold my attention. I had fit into size 12 jeans earlier in the year, and thought just maybe a 10 might fit now. I won't try on clothing at a thrift store, so if something I buy doesn't fit, I just re-donate it. I found a cute pair of jeans for just $6. Cool beans! When I was done shopping, the nicest lady helped me check out. I noticed a sign stating that on Thursdays, whatever fits into a brown grocery bag is yours for just $10! Now that's a deal! I tried on those jeans after getting home and washing them, and they fit great! read more

This is one of the most thriftshoppy thrift shops in Morro Bay. I'll explain: the whole point of going to a thrift shop is the hope that, among all the garbage, you will find that silk shirt or cashmere sweater for five dollars. Here, I happened to find just that: a Neiman Marcus silk shirt in great condition and it was priced just like everything else. Well, a few of the other "thrift shops" on that same street have "selected items", so they charge more for better stuff, like leather goods and designer shoes, the problem is that, at those higher prices, they are not a great buy anymore, they are close to the price of something new, not to mention, yes they had a cashmere sweater but the color and cut weren't great, so at five bucks, I buy it, but at twenty, it's too much. Achievement House is the classic: navigate for an hour to maybe get one good thing, which, again, is the whole point of thrift stores. Their have awesome furniture at good prices and hundreds of random things, this was my favorite of all the Morro Bay Blvd shops. read more

Very angry right now. I work during the week and don't usually get a chance to shop at this thrift store. So, imagine my frustration when I was told upon walking into the store that they were closing in "about a minute", they apparently close at 4:30 (strange time to close, should be 5:00). I didn't have my watch, so I believed the cashier. I just got home and realized when I checked my clock that it must have actually been 4:25 when she kicked me out of the store!! I could have easily shopped and checked out in 5 minutes. I went out of my way to go here today, I had to stay home to wait for a UPS delivery and when they finally came I rushed over there to shop, i.e. spend money there!! I give them 2 stars instead of 1 because even though I am angry I will be back, just not on a weekday. Of course I know I miss out on some good deals not being able to shop during the week. I've been Thrift in for some time and work in retail. I've shopped here occasionally and use to enjoy the experience. The employees were very friendly and the prices decent. However today's experience was less than enjoyable. Items were over priced and a particular brunette that works there was rude and unprofessional. It may be a while before I visit again. Came in here right now and spent 18 dollars on some clothes. My boyfriend was planning on buying some records and spending some money here too but we changed our mind after the lady working at the cash register (short brown hair) was incredibly miserable with her life and treated us very rudely. Have shopped here for years and found nice things. Recent improvements have made the shop cleaner and more organized - no more rugs & ski equipment to trip over. I am pleased that the bag sales and special sale days have returned. There is a new manager who seems to want to implement rules that she says have been in effect for years per the head office, but were not being enforced at the Morro Bay shop. I am OK with that, but not OK with a comment I heard her make today. She said that people who own their own shops come in and buy at low prices and then put the things in their shops at much higher prices. When you have a shop, you have lots of overhead - rent, staff, taxers, etc., so that is an ignorant, unfair comment. It is not her business what customers do with the items they buy. read more
