I now see him via telehealth or fly back to Houston just to see him. That speaks volumes that I am coming in from out-of-state just to see this doctor. As others have noted, he does sometimes run late. But the converse of that is that when you have a problem, he takes the time that is needed. You don't get cut off at 15 minutes. I have been to a lot of doctors in my day and I have never had a doctor who was any good who I didn't have to wait at. I have had to wait 2 hours at the pediatrician for my kid before and even longer at the OB. If a doctor has tons of openings and is easy to get into, that is because no one wants to see him or her. I have never had any problem getting my phone calls returned or my medications refilled. In fact, one of the problems with the psychiatrist I tried to change to was that he would not provide a refill without an appointment which meant I was having to go in every month rather than only every 4-5. If I am doing well, I don't need to be seen every month.

Third, she is deeply compassionate in how she holds space for her clients. She is trauma-informed, and able to lessen the anxiety one holds around it, using a variety of techniques to diffuse it. While she does not refrain from holding her clients accountable, she is tender in how she delivers her assessments, offering her client(s) a variety of methods to reprogram the energetic. She has an extensive educational background, covering a vast spectrum of behaviors, disorders, and dysfunctions. While I wasn't always comfortable hearing about my growth points, she was spot on per the drivers of my behaviors and what I could do to navigate relationship with myself differently, thus influencing how I was able to show up differently in relationship with others. While my goal was to have my relationship saved by coming to couples counseling, what ended up happening was that I got saved...from my partner's subtle manipulations, from abuse to which I had become desensitized, and from my unhealthy pattern of staying way too long in a relationship that did not serve me. I appreciate her rigorous training in assessing people and know that in Rose's calling my partner to task, I felt validated, and once I felt validated, I had more confidence to demand more, and when more was not an option my partner was willing to give, my exit became available with zero guilt, and little regret. I felt rushed, as if on an assembly line, and the adjustment was unsatisfactory. Although a simple adjustment is a covered service with my insurance carrier, with a $0 copay, the receptionist and office manager refused to bill for the service and demanded I pay the full charge, $50.00 (This was after I declined to schedule multiple other services.) I paid the $50.00 charge and left. I reached out to my insurance carrier for reimbursement assistance and they advised charging me was a breach of the provider's contract and the carrier attempted to reach out to the provider to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, they were met with hostility and defensiveness from the office manager, along with a flat refusal to reimburse for the service. I won't return to this provider, ever.

Gigi also did the kinesio taping, which really supported my shoulder well as it was getting stronger. I went to ten sessions, 7 at the old location on 249 and the last 3 at the new location. Her and her staff were fantastic. The only reason I'm deducting a star is because I do not care for the new location. It is VERY cramped and dark with no windows, like a dungeon, and the layout is quite strange. To get there you have to walk down a long, long hallway through another doctor's waiting room, then finally you get to the equipment way in the back by the emergency exit. I know she probably moved to this new office to save on rent, but it's a big step down from the bright, roomy clinic she had before. I would still return for PT with her, however.
