More concerning was that my ability to receive care appeared to be influenced by my husband's account status rather than my individual medical needs. This raised serious concerns about professionalism and patient-centered care. Additionally, the billing practices were excessive and unexpected. Appointments routinely exceeded $550, and I was charged at a rate of approximately $175-350 per hour for every minute of time spent, similar to an attorney's billing structure. Because there is no support staff, any time spent outside of scheduled appointments--regardless of how brief--was also billed by the minute. This was not clearly communicated upfront and felt unreasonable given the already high cost per visit. Patients deserve transparent communication, ethical decision-making, and care based on medical need rather than financial considerations. Unfortunately, that was not my experience, and I cannot recommend this practice.

The four stars are strictly for Dr. Noel, even though I'm not sure if he has my best interest at…read morehand 100%. That sounds worse than it really is, let me explain. I won't comment on Dr. Noel character other than, if a hard working smart man is what you are seeking, Dr. Noel is the psychiatrist for you. He has been nothing but courteous to me, and although not always prompt due to client base (meaning he has lots of patients to look after) I enjoy meeting with him and feel he is a friend. I do feel as if he turns inept when I express my biggest concerns, not sure if this is completely true or not, it might be my proposed illness. It is rather painful however both mentally and physically sometimes, but again it might just be a mis-conception on my part. He is well educated, attended The University of Texas at Austin I believe, and does listen most importantly. I have had Doctors in the past insist that they speak more than I, so if talk therapy is a must for you, Dr. Noel is rather astute at focusing on what you are saying. Sometimes, I do believe he may mis-read situations or concerns, again that could be doubtful given his creditials and professionalism. From my perspective he is very analytical, but sometimes a little two black and white. His biggest asset is he is extremely understanding, he is a good man. His staff, through no fault of his own I believe, could do alot better though. I refuse to go to the office strictly because of the insensitivity, lack of core knowledge, and possibly overworked under staff of both Dr. Noel and his partner. The problem is not that they don't know what to do, sometimes they feel as if they don't have to do it. For me this is a complete disregard of patient/provider (non-insurance means) reasoning to meet a justifiable end, in my opinion. Basically, sometimes they don't go the extra mile, because they take things the wrong way, from my experience. If I were having a worse day I would liken them sometimes (strictly speaking of the staff) fascist to a light hearted degree as a joke. Sometimes, unfortunately they just down right don't care, maybe from exhaustion, but consumer wise not a good recipe for those desperately trying to find how to get well. Sometimes they are simply more unwelcoming than welcoming. My history has dealt with two receptionist and two nurses working for Dr. Noel and his partner (forgive me I cannot remember the man's name at the time). The two receptionist have given me wrong information that would have been vital to my wellness, haven't contacted me or given notice when necessary medicines arrived at the office that would have ensured more wellness, and personally I believe are sight guided judgmental, if you understand the term. The two nurses, instead of being comforting, one more than the other, misinterpret information, and can hurt more than help situations. I don't trust their insight, simply because when I try to bear my soul to them, they give me "the crazy look" as if I need to shut up. Making a patient feel as if he or she cannot communicate as a right, is not very comforting from this point of view, me being the patient. Indifference is a big problem with 3 out of the 4 mentioned, the one exception being the head nurse Dorthy. I realize these three people are just trying to earn a paycheck, but something so serious as mental health isn't something to be taken lightly or given a "write off" (figuratively) when entered into an agreement with for provision of wellness. I have physically made my own self sick trying to compromise with this place, and I feel like I am just a number to them, literally, but not always. As a conclussion this is my own personal review, no one but I hold's this view, and I's know many who are satisfied with both Dr. Noel, his partner, and his staff. If you're laughing at why I put the word "I's" it was a play on the word "eyes". Ok, back to seriousness, the place isn't worth not giving four stars to, like I said I have alot of appreciation for Dr. Noel, but if you are seriously considering contacting him, due to his client demand it is not wise to waste his time and those aren't his words, they are mine. In my opinion he is so brilliant that he has to pick and choose his patients remedies in the order he sees fit towards cure or stabilization, because he really does care and wants to maximize his expertise. Dealing with Dr. Noel, who also is a M.D. who can help with physical ailments as well, will take patience, but mostly because he is so popular and efficient, not because he is bad at his profession. Out of 3 psychiatrist that I have given the right to practice medicine to on myself in 10 years, Dr. Noel by far was the most compassionate and thorough. I remember specifically one time when I couldn't speak from depression and all it took was a kind set of words from Dr. Noel to allow myself to say I could make it another day. Thank You

I have been going to this establishment for several years. Dr M. was an excellent Dr. however, he…read moreabruptly retired leaving all his patients in disarray and distress. Dr No took over his patients which assured us that we would be taken care of in the same manner as Dr M, but that is not the case. Dr Noel has been completely incompetent of caring for his patients. I have called continuously for my medication refills and left waiting for two to three weeks without it. I have been more than patient in waiting for my medications but this is ridiculous. When I saw Dr Noel for the first time, he asked about my background, however, during my appointment he was falling asleep! As I was talking he then abruptly ended our session and said well I guess I'll just keep you on the same medication as Dr M. He then asked if I needed refills. Of course this was fine with me because the current medications have been working , however he never called in one of the prescriptions! There is also a nurse working with him now to help him with the load of his patients which I assumed would help us get our medications in a timely manner, however that is not the case at all. I'm still left waiting for weeks without my meds. He has done the same to my husband and many others as well. It has been 3 months and I still have not received my refills for one of them in my visit. This is very unprofessional and detrimental to all the patients with mental conditions as it can be LIFE-THREATENING! There is no excuse. Also there has been a new person answering calls lately and she answers by just saying "hello, hello. " then hangs up as if she could not hear me. I would then call back 2 to 4 times again and got the same answer. When she finally DID "hear me", she stated that they are " doing the best they can" and that he had a heavy workload . She told me that he works at the hospital in the mornings and works in the office from 2:00 to 6:00 ( although they close at 5:00. ) I told her then he needs to write the prescriptions at night. This is still completely unacceptable especially since he has a nurse to help alleviate the load. After waiting for 3 weeks for one medication, I then had to wait several more days for a prior authorization. She said, well the pharmacy has to call them requesting that. I said yes , I am aware, and that they HAVE called several days ago. A few days later, I realized that I was out of another medication that he was supposed to be called in 3 months ago when I saw him in the office. I brought this matter of attention to the associate answering the phone and I stated that hopefully it would not be ANOTHER 3 weeks waiting for THIS medication and she said the same thing again " well, we are doing the best that we can". I said surely he knows the SEVERITY of his patients being without medication, especially because it is for mental illnesses that could have SEVERE consequences! I told her that since he is so busy and far behind that perhaps he needs to hire more staff to help get the prescriptions out in a timely manner. My suggestion was, maybe someone could write them out for him and then he could just sign them . She stated that only the doctor or a nurse could write out the prescriptions. Well, I thought that's what the nurse was for or so they said. She stated that the reason for him being so far behind is because he had taken over 200 patients for Dr. M . However, this does NOT give him the right to REFUSE to do his job and provide the medications that his patients CRITICALLY need. Perhaps this doctor should not have agreed to take on Dr M. patients if he could not handle the load and provide the services needed. Upon ending the call the associate suggested that maybe I should find another psychiatrist. This is obviously true, however, number one, that was completely rude and what are we supposed to do in the meantime while we try to find another psychiatrist and then have to wait another month or so to even get an appointment at another doctor's office as a new patient? This is pure NEGLECT OF PATIENT CARE. Dr N. will be reported to the Texas Medical Board, as he is not fit to have a medical license!

Typically I have high blood pressure readings at first because I have doctor phobia but my pressure wasn't high at all. I am also a person whose very identity tends to be political to some people (bisexual and transgender.) But both the daughter and the doctor were INCREDIBLY friendly, knowledgeable, and kind about this issues. They used terminology that showed they were familiar and great with these issues. I also have a lot of chronic issues so I'm used to seeing a lot of doctors. This is by far the best doctor I've ever seen, across the entire spectrum. I felt truly listened to and felt that he addressed all 500 issues I brought up. Plus, the front desk section is super communicative too. I could go on forever but yes, use this doctor!!
