Called ACI because of a rattling sound in our heating/air distribution. The technician was able to diagnose the problem and recommend the solution, which was change to a simpler filter and expand our venting. The technician was impressed by the installation and quality of our three-year-old system and made recommendations based on the newer technology. The visit and diagnosis cost less than two hundred dollars, a real bargain considering the time put into the diagnosis. Highest recommendation!! read more

In the middle of the heat wave our air-conditioning unit stopped working. Contacted ACI and they sent out a technician within 2 days. They are understandably very busy. The technician found the problem, failed capacitors, and replaced them with units from his truck. Now we once again have a cool house. Their charges are reasonable and their service quick and professional. We would recommend ACI to anyone with an air conditioning problem. read more

I called ACI based on the reviews, I wish I had the same experience. Maybe they are good for just regular HVAC installs, but not what I needed. The good: - On time and polite. The not so good: - Extremely high prices - Misdiagnosed what was needed by measuring incorrectly - Charge for coming out and estimating. (I can understand, but not everyone does it.) I wanted a motorized damper put in, so I called ACI based on the reviews. They did tell me of the service fee up front, which I was ok with. I'm fine for paying for someones expertise. The technician called about 30 minutes prior to arrival. He inspected the duct and removed some insulation to take some measurements. I was told I had the option of either a 8" manual damper or motorized damper. The motorized one may require another fan to turn on and that they would have to check with codes. The technician called back later that day with costs. It seemed rather high. I had another company come out for an estimate, they didn't charge a service fee and discovered it was a 7" duct and not 8". The kicker came when they gave me the estimate....over 50% less. Called to have some service work done: and to have someone look at this it was 109 dollars. Three weeks later I have not received a bid or a phone call and when I called the third time I was told they do not send out proposals. "It is verbal only" No value to the money I spent to get a proposal. So, I called three times and the second call never got returned. So my third call was not pleasant and unable to get any answers including a call back I was told would happen on my first call. The initial contact person that answered the phone was not pleasant to talk to. Short and snippy with me from day one. Be weary of a company that cannot offer you a bid and does things verbally. read more

ACI has already had this review deleted once. Take your bad reviews like a man Jason R. I worked for Lowes and it was my job is to sell this company's service. Despite them knowing this ACI Northwest was rude and dismissive at every point. This installation was done on Jan 31, 2019. I recommended my landlord get his water heater replaced through the store, who sub-contracts to ACI Northwest. I worked in the plumbing department and knew some things about how a heater is to be installed and right away things were going poorly. The installer Eddie couldn't figure out how to get the water out of the old water tank. So he loaded it up on a dolly and wheeled it out of the door weighing roughly 600lbs. He shattered our door's threshold plate when he hit it with the dolly. Then he dumped the hot water in our lawn and left debris from the old heater when he left. This killed an 8-foot square of lawn. Instead of standard-rated earthquake straps, Eddie used a couple lengths of galvanized steel pipe hangers. He tacked them in above our lightswitch and above my washing machine and it looked terrible. He also did a sloppy job and gouged the walls and put extra holes as he fumbled to find a stud. There was a leaking valve that supplies the heater and I pointed this out. I said "you need to replace that--you can't just leave that, everything needs to be up to code." Eddie argued with me saying "it's probably just a loose nut, I'll just tighten it before I leave." This didn't solve the leak. When a valve is leaking its not a loose nut. Eddie didn't feel like dealing with this and tightened the nut which continued leaking. Lowes promises to the customer that certain standards of installation quality and parts are to be used. ACI Northwest did not live up to those standards. They were to replace both supply lines with new pipe work. Eddie insisted that the old supply line (and leaking valve) were good enough and that he didn't need to replace it. Water heaters are supposed to have a drain pan underneath them that catches any water that might accumulate in the event of a leak and then it is meant to be piped to a floor drain. When there is no floor drain and the heater's in a high traffic area where people will see it all the time (like our bathroom) it is sufficient to just plug the drain pan. Eddie didn't do this. He left the drain pan open and mashed into a space too small for it. He used the wrong size of drain pan. If the water heater were to leak the water would just go right onto the floor. Eddie also neglected to bleed the system or test anything when he finished the awful installation. Normally the water system is to be bled out at the bathtub. When I tested the system after he left, a great deal of air spurted out for several minutes and then the water came out white, cloudy and slowly. Debris had lodged in the faucet because Eddie didn't do his job right. Also ACI Northwest did our installation illegally. I called the county inspector to come take a look at their work to create a laundry list of the things done wrong and the inspector said he couldn't come inspect because there was never a permit pulled for our home. This is another case of ACI's rank unprofessionalism and attempts to cut corners and save money. When my landlord inspected this, he was very unhappy. They called ACI Northwest to complain. ACI's representative, Lisa said to them that their tenant (me) was overreacting. She claimed that Eddie was one of their best guys and always did fantastic work. She dismissed everything. They finally agreed to send a technician out that same night to have a look at our faucet that was running poorly. I was never given a time for when this would occur. I later called ACI to ask when their guy was coming. They didn't know and said they'd have him call me. Never got a call, but the guy showed up about 20 minutes later. This made planning our evening difficult. When the new technician got there, the first thing he did was tell me "No offense, but our guy did a good job." calling me a liar right away. He tapped our kitchen faucet with a screw driver a few times and then shrugged and said "ACI never touched your faucet, so we're not responsible. You'll have to figure this out." I said "the faucet's not working right because its got debris in it from your installer not bleeding the system." Technician guy said "I don't know what you're complaining about, you've got hot water, your water works." I told him "no man, you don't understand. I work at the store. I'm not a plumber but my job is to sell your company's service to other people. Right now, I'm not wanting to do that because you guys have made things worse than before you arrived." "Oh yeah, well I had to leave my family's New Years Eve dinner to come deal with your problem and you don't hear me complaining!" He left after that. ACI installed a new furnace 9 years ago, and I was pleased with that whole experience. I am now signed up for yearly maintenance checks on my furnace, as I would not always get it done each year. They are clean, professional, on time, and explain everything. I especially like that they have local technicians in my area in the Silver Valley. We had a fan installed in our house. Our ceiling is 18' high and our electrician, Andrew, was very knowledgeable and efficient. Andrew is an excellent example of how an electrician should conduct themselves. He offered advice and demonstrated how to operate our fan. After being scammed by a **horrible** company (RDI DO NOT USE THEM) I reached out to a friend of mine who's Aunt Tanya works at ACI. This company had my back from my first call and took excellent care of my situation. Seriously, Tanya saved me $4,000+ today. Tanya, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for getting us scheduled with Dean so quickly and understanding my worry and frustration! I was told by RDI that my furnace had a cracked heat exchanger and that I needed a new one. Tanya sent Dean out from ACI to check if that was the case. Dean was professional and reassured me he would run tests for carbon monoxide (my greatest worry) as well as check the whole furnace for a leak. He took his time and extensively looked for any sign of repair needed. Guess what! No leak and nothing wrong with my furnace. I may not have spent thousands of dollars today on a furnace but when I do, I will be paying ACI and fully trust them to take care of everything like they did today. Thank you again Tanya and Dean for offering us the help we needed. We are now loyal customers and will recommend you to EVERYONE we know. Good job ACI for actually caring about your customers, being honest with us and giving us an amazing experience after such a horrific and stressful scam. Don't call anyone else. We have a cabin in the area and needed work on our propane gas fireplace insert. The front office was helpful and efficient at getting a time scheduled that would work during a time we would be there. I even had to change it and it was no problem. Ryan arrived on time and gave us a call prior to alert us that he was on his way. He identified the problem, had the parts available to fix it and gave us a thorough explanation as to the issue. Being new to the area, we had no idea who to call. We were referred to ACI Northwest from a neighbor that has used their service for many years and came highly recommended. Our impression of this business was formed right from the start when we first called to inquire about their HVAC programs. The person answering the phone was professional, courteous and knowledgeable about all of the services that ACI offers. We chose the premium service at $20.00 a month which includes servicing on our heating system in the Fall and again in the Spring, 20% off if repairs are needed, and the most important to us..... if our heating or a/c systems fail, we are seen on a priority basis. With our cold Winters, we'd appreciate someone coming sooner as opposed to later. And the same during the Summer. The Service Technician, Jim Cameron called before the appointment and asked if could come early to service our heating system. Again, he was professional, courteous and knowledgeable (hmmmm, seeing a pattern here, which says a lot about who the company hires) and conducted a detailed inspection and serviced the system. He gave us useful information on how to prevent issues in the future on the HVAC system and feel confident that if any issues come up in the future; they will be handled in a timely and professional manner. I've been using ACI for many years. Each visit is made by a service man who is always on time and so respectful of my home and our needs for their expert service. I always have a place to take notes for the answers to questions I may have for them - like when I need to service my filters or adjust my thermostat as those are challenges for me. They take the time to answer all the questions and have given me directions on how I can make my home more comfortable with the temperature with only one thermostat for 4 levels. I just had then come out to put an AC unit in my new house. The sales guy was great, he did a full Manual J on the house, which none of the other AC guys did (Granted they all came up with the same size unit, but the Manual J is the industry standard for estimating unit size) which showed me right away that they knew how to do things the right way. Price wise they came in $600 less then any of the other contractors and were going to get it installed 3 business days later, where everyone else was going to take a week or more. After looking up reviews on FB and G+ i was sold and knew these guys were a quality business and the way to go. Installation day came and the installers showed up an hour early, worked quickly, and quietly, and next thing I knew I was sitting in my office feeling cold air when the installer came in to tell me they were done, in about 2.5 hours. There was no mess, no fuss, no problems. I would highly recommend these guys! read more

Had multiple propane leaks, some of which lasted for months before found and fixed. Initial install was not to code, failed to call for inspection when installed as required and when finally inspected (8 months late) the work failed inspection multiple times. Management seemed unconcerned about long-term propane leaks in my home. read more

This is my second review. We recently had ACI out to replace a furnace and the technicians were as professional and courteous as we could hope for. They laid down tarp to protect our carpets and swept the stairs when they were done. Our mechanical room is cleaner than when they started. Aaron Williamson and his associate Skyler did a great job, the new furnace is installed, and we are beginning to warm up. Just had an air conditioning unit installed and this crew was great. They were on time, professional, efficient and experienced. I saw an ad for ACI and a $1700 rebate which is why i called. Kevin came out and was very nice and professional, and i was excited about using them and getting the job done. But when the estimate to replace my gas water heater with a heat pump water heater came, the cost was above and beyond. They quoted me about $1250 in labor and electrical and the heater cost them appox. $1200, yet my bill was to be $4177-a nearly 150% increase in the cost of the heater!(I can purchase the heater for $900 after a rebate) The blase` attitude to my disbelief was amazing, as they just didn't seem to care that they were ripping me off for $1800! Beware! Check the math, as they have no problem jacking up the cost of parts! And to top it off, the rebate they baited me in with didn't apply to any of the heater brands i was looking for. read more

On short notice, we needed someone to help us with our smoke/carbon monoxide detectors. We had been in our house for just two years so we weren't sure how old our detectors were. We had replaced batteries, used vacuum cleaner to blow out dust, etc. but continued having problems. In one area, we have a very high ceiling. As seniors, it would have been difficult to do rewiring of new detectors, etc. We checked out ACI Northwest's website and saw some good reviews so decided to try them out. The very same day, Tracy came to the house. He was great; an efficient and very pleasant young man. Right away, he told us what options are available to us. Our furnace quit in below-zero temps and when I called ACI Northwest, they were at our home the same day (even though they had to drive 50 miles to get to our place). My husband suspected the furnace was a lost cause and sure enough...we needed a new one. We asked ACI and two others for quotes. ACI was the best not only in price, but also because they were willing to do the job much faster than the others. They installed our new furnace today, did the work quietly, proficiently, and even took care to wear booties on their feet and cleaned their worksite when the job was finished. I have recommended and used this company since 2000. Two weeks ago I had them come out to service my AC unit. They made a appointment and call me to reschedule for the next day late in the afternoon after I sat at home awaiting their arrival. The next day they finally showed up my unit is less than two years old and the technician spent his time trying to get me to have him look for a possible leak the cost was over 1400 dollars. When I finally told him to just charge the system he stated it was less than one pound low so it is possible that it was not fully charged. It still cost me 450 dollars and I made an attempt to talk with the management about this without any success. They have made it very clear my business with them is not important. I will not be using them or recommending them to work for anyone very disappointed with after 16 years of loyalty. read more
