Mark and his team at ACM are wonderful. We had french drains put it 14 years ago. We are lucky enough that we don't need water pumped out of our basement often but did need it twice this year. They worked perfectly and even after 14 years the pumps are great. Just had a service call to make sure everything is running smoothly incase we need the pumps again and the service man (John) found everything to be in great. Highly recommend ACM. I had Mark and his team come install a French Drain on the north side of my basement back in June of this year. With all the crazy storms, I was dealing with water in my basement due to foundation cracks or water overflowing the window wells multiple times. His team was extremely careful in prepping the area and minimizing dust as best they could. They covered everything including tarps on the floor to reduce dirt being tracked inside. I eventually tested the system (hose in a window well) and it worked perfectly. Then the heavy storms started coming from the south in the summer and the last remaining unprotected window well started filling like a pool. Called them again and they installed a system on the south side with all the same care and attention to detail. Now I can rest easy and refinish my basement. It's been almost 3 years since he performed the work, and I haven't spent one minute using towels, or wet vacs, or fans to deal with the water problems I was experiencing before ACM did the work in my home. The crew arrived at the exact date/time of the appointment, which for anyone who hires contractors.... is a HUGE relief. They set up in my basement, and constructed plastic barriers to protect the contents of my basement, and used fans to suck out the dust as they performed the needed work. I first called a bigger waterproof company to take a look at the water problem, and while knowledgable, he was very pushy and wanted a lot more money for the drainage system Mark recommended. I turned them down and called Mark, who gave me a clear understanding of my basement flooding problem, the drainage system they would use, and the amount of time it would be. Mark was very flexible and never pushed me to get the job done. When I hired ACM, their team was very professional, clean, and fast. I hired ACM Basement Waterproofing after reading the positive reviews.I have had a problem with water in my basement for many years,and last year was the worst.I did call three companies but decided on ACM.I was given a price and reviewed the contract. On the contract was written in an additional$1000. for demolition from floor to ceiling. I did not agree to that,nor did I sign that part.The job was started three weeks from signing.Whenever i have workers in my home i don't check on them every five minutes,and with this type of work they are working with jackhammers and it was best to stay away.After they finished the second day of work I went downstairs and was so shocked! They had taken my ceiling down,the paneling on my walls were gone,and the frames around my window sills were ripped out. I called Mark immediately,he came and really didn't know what to say.I said ,I never signed nor agreed to have my ceiling ripped out,nor have the paneling taken off the walls. He said that he would replace the ceiling and he did,he also said that he would replace the frames around the windows,but left two unfinished. They had taken all the doors down,they had to put them back up. I am still baffled by what was done.After all this i go downstairs to check and the system was never plugged in. The owner Mark came out to take a look at my basement last night. He was very accommodating in making a late appointment. When making the appointment I told him I recently had a french drain put in but it wasn't working so I wanted other ideas. When he got to my house and took a look he straight out said that he won't touch my house because I had work done (which I told him before he came out) and there's nothing he can do. He basically said that there's nothing left for me to do either when I asked his professional opinion on other options to remedy my water issue. He became very rude and said that he drove very far to get to my house and that he needs to leave (after being at my house for all of 5 minutes). As soon as he realized that he cannot make money off of me he could give a crap about being here. My husband and I were insulted and offended to say the least. What an amazing job this company did in our basement after Sandy. Clean and thorough French drains were installed around the perimeter and down the center of the basement. When we had some addition flooding after another severe storm, Mark and his men came back and added an addition French drain at no cost. I cannot say enough amazing things about Mark and the entire crew from ACM Waterproofing! After having two other companies inspect our basement, we were feeling completely discouraged about how to solve our water problem. The first company to give us an estimate, one of ACM's competitors, put on a pressure sales pitch and wanted to charge an exorbitant amount of money to install a French drain and pump along the one wall where water was entering our house. The sales rep (who had never waterproofed a day in his life) wanted us to commit to a contract that day, and told us that the estimate he was giving us would increase if we didn't sign right then and there. Luckily, we used our better judgement, decided to explore other options, and gave Mark a call. From the moment we met him, it was obvious that Mark was not only punctual and professional, but extremely knowledgeable about his trade. He conducted a thorough inspection of our basement (which none of the other companies even bothered to do) and determined that a French drain without a pump would be the best option. His quote for the job was very reasonable, especially compared to the estimates we received from other companies. Mark did not put any pressure on us to sign a contract, and even encouraged us to discuss the decision with our family members to make sure it was the right move for us. After deciding to go with ACM, they were very accommodating, and we were able to get an appointment within a few weeks. On the day of the job, Mark and his team of five arrived promptly at the scheduled time and continued to impress us until the job was completed. They took painstaking efforts to be neat and clean during the entire process, including placing plastic sheeting and drop cloths throughout the entire house, and ventilating the basement with a high-powered exhaust fan. The crew from ACM was friendly, courteous, and respectful of our home; it was also obvious that they took pride in the work they were doing and enjoyed being a part of the ACM team. Since our French drain was installed by ACM, our basement has been dry and we are worry free during heavy rainstorms!
