Turns out it was just the thermostat and he fixed it for me for quite a bit of money. My check engine light came back on when I was 3 hours north and my engine temperature was almost red lining. The owners only suggestion was that I tow it down to their shop, right... he refused to accept any fault. Luckily, a mechanic friend diagnosed that the engine was missing about 2 L of coolant and Jane Park likely didn't purge and refill the coolant reservoir when complete. Again, Jane Park refused to accept any fault. He told me to bring it back in so they could check everything out again. He charged me for a new coolant cap, wouldn't even throw that in as goodwill. Keep in mind I'm 8.5 months pregnant at this time and he couldn't even throw me a bone, considering I was stranded 3 hours away from home. Won't go back. Women beware, unless you enjoy being called Dear and being jerked around.

Ben from Dixie-Bloor Service was very friendly on the phone when I called for an appointment. I arrived the morning on time and was greeted quickly and was told Ben would be with me shortly. After speaking with Ben and leaving my contact info, he told me it would be about an hour and I'd get a call with a full estimate after he had performed the inspection. Ben called an hour almost to the minute later with my estimate and a recommendation that other work I had asked him to perform was not necessary at this time. This is why I keep going back to Dixie-Bloor. They are friendly, quick to respond with a truthful appointment window, and will not perform work if it's not needed. On the phone call I asked him to look into another regular maintenance job and since it was on the lift, if he could he might as well do it also. He was so helpful and accommodating that even though it was a very busy day and it was unscheduled work, he kindly performed the extra task. The work was done earlier than quoted and I went back to pay and I brought a case of 12 cold adult beverages in tow to show my thanks. Can't say enough good things about Dixie-Bloor Service. We went to Laird Automotive Services for the first time today. Surprisingly, we'd never been before…read moreeven though they're located only a block from our house. Our Suzuki needed its emissions test in order to renew our plates and we'd read on Yelp that this place was the best bet. We were greeted pretty much the second we walked in the door. We gave them the keys and within (no word of a lie) 1 minute, our car was already being worked on. In less than 10 minutes we had the keys back in our hands and the job was done. And it was only $30! While we were waiting, another employee came out to make sure we were being attended to. This shows me that the service is good and I certainly have to say they were very efficient. There's a nice, comfy leather couch in the waiting area and there was a big basket filled with Lindor chocolates to snack on. All in all, we were very happy with the service and will most likely be going back when we need to!

This one was no different, Calling in I asked if they had a part to fix the rear passenger shock mount as it had failed due to wear. A 20$ Item, 3 screws easily accessible, and 10 minutes of work with an impact driver and WD-40. After calling i was LIED to when the front desk had said that the shock i was looking for was fused and the 20$ part unfortunately has to be a 150$ entire shock replacement as well as an estimate of maximum 100$ for the labour. I took his word for it and agreed to the service.... little did I know.... this was not the case. I asked for my old part back and easily popped off the mount from the rubber gasket and made mention that I must not have had the "factory model" he talked about over the phone. Alas, after lying again and saying Mazda doesn't sell it separately, he shortly corrected himself a minute later saying that they do not buy them separately (no need to get it from Mazda, Napa sells the same KYB mount (Mazda's factory shock choice) or dorman substitute). Irregardless charging me 50$ more than the cost of the suspension. valuing his mechanics service at 300$/hr (took 20 minutes in total in/out while moving slower then a sloth) and openly lying to a customer you'd be better off at a Canadian Tire auto service. Heed WARNING to those who do not know different, speed and monetary cost is in the eye of the beholder and this Snake Oil salesman sells a bitter brew of lies.
