DO NOT USE THE SHOP FROM HOME STORE PICK UP SERVICE! Countless times the department will NOT fill the order and leave to go home despite the service being offered until 8pm. I have had MANY issues with this service and addressed this with the Manager who frankly does not care and is unapologetic. I have tried to reach a District Corporate manager about this to no avail. Horrible customer service. The people at the Front desk ARE as helpful as can be but also have no control over this area of the store. MARY and her TEAM have and continue to do Everything they can when this is dumped in their laps and are the ONLY saving grace with this STORE! EVERY OTHER SUPERMARKET in the area can successfully offer this service except ACME. Do not waste your time with this store it is a lost cause! BUYER BEWARE! read more

I have written a few reviews about this place and have left decent reviews but this last visit, I left beyond disappointed. Why is a small can of condensed milk $6.29 and in Walmart and shop rite it's about $2.50 or less. Walmart has them for $2.19. That is total abuse. I put the can back and left. read more

I've been shopping at Acme for quite some time now , spent plenty of money in this store but after my recent experience regarding the free Thanksgiving turkey (that I did not receive!), I will not continue to do my grocery shopping in this store! I didn't realize I had to clip my turkey coupon immediately after spending the $300 ..( it wasn't done this way last year) and so I called several times both the store I shop in and the corporate office , after several promises from the corporate office that they will adjust my points so it will reflect I met the qualifications to receive the free turkey , they still have yet to adjust it. Absolutely disgusted, they kept telling me to wait 24 hours , it's been over a week now!! Also the phone reception to the corporate office is absolutely awful! Lots of static on the line and for many calls I was disconnected because the audibility just gave out . Awful experience. Sorry I honestly hate leaving negative reviews..but to keep reassuring a customer the issue will be resolved and it still is not resolved is just ridiculous. read more

I was trying to pay through self checkout but I couldn't find the product I was paying for on the screen, I decided to go to a regular check out when this associate was yelling at me "miss miss you left something here open" I went back and she just kept raising her voice to tell me: "I'm here to help you" no need to leave there" I was trying to explain what happened but she kept talking and saying: People leave without paying. You want me to help you or not? So I was like shocked and I just said: "ok" she canceled previous operation and then I Paid for my things. I went to buy Chips on sale 6/20 in their flyer says 3 for $2.49 , great deal. But I was told it's was a mistake should say 2.49 each , I told them as a customer it's not my issue, I was told they cant honor that price. This Acme in old bridge is always have issues with there flyers and prices. How do you what is correct and not? You go to buy something and it's not on the shelf , They tell you "we don't carry that item. There prices on non sale items are high, I go there for a specific sale item and I am told sorry. But went the fine print works for them it's fine. I am glad there is a new Shoprite and a New Super Fresh on Rt 516 open and Now a New Top Tomato open in Old bridge . In these high priced times everyone should watch their prices and consider where you shop. Not honoring their printed price is unprofessional and poor customer service. read more

I remember when Acme was known for their super fresh produce. I see that is a thing of the past. I just left their Old Bridge, NJ store after stopping in front of the first display table in their produce section. The table had less than 10 bags of cherries. These cherries were old. They were damaged, wrinkly, at least 3 of the bags in the very front had noticeable mold. One moldy cherry ruins the whole bag because cherries are very susceptible to mold growth. Still, I moved forward to see what the other side of the table had, to at least god Acme another chance. A swarm of fruit flies. NOPE!!! I'm done. Albertsons ruined whatever food Acme still had before the buyout. Never again! read more

Best supermarket in the area. Maybe it doesn't have the huge organic section like Shoprite down the road but it also doesn't have the huge crowds. It's always clean and organized here. Never overly crowded. I like that I can grab a Starbucks coffee in here and shop too. read more

The young man working the customer service booth is always very well mannered and friendly to customers I have a nice conversations with him whenever I get my lottery tickets. Always doing his job even goes above and beyond to help out. If I were a manager I would absolutely give this charming fellow a raise! I got an order delivered through Uber eats, I got 2 Perdue roaster chicken, $21 and $19 per chicken, and both chickens were rotten, spoiled, left my house smelling, I was disgusted, will not order from ACME anymore, trying to get money back from Uber eats was another story, they expect you to take a picture of the spoiled item and send it to them, all I was thinking was getting rid of the foul smelling chicken and getting it out of my house. read more

This supermarket is right by my house and out of convenience, I shop there. In the past 4 months, I've had to take meat back 3 times because the smell when I opened the package was horrible. While always apologetic and quick to refund me, this should not be happening!!! Since the Acme brand took over (formerly A&P), it has been deteriorating little by little. It's a big shame... Beautiful supermarket, very clean and organized! All the fresh food here looks exceptionally fresh. I usually end up regretting my purchases for half prepared food, like raw stuffed chicken or already breaded cutlets, but here I actually tried the stuffed pork chops, I cooked them and they were actually delicious! I was so impressed! It's always nice to know that you have a go to place to get something quick to make when you don't have time to really prepare a whole meal. They were having a $1 produce sale as well that was phenomenal, there must have been about 40 different products that were only a dollar! read more

This is a really nice Acme. I usually go to their Milltown location, but decided to check this location out as it was moderately close to me. The store is very clean, albeit slightly run down. This store is very large, but it's very easy to find anything here. The store is mostly very well stocked, despite some aisles a little bit empty. Although, in those aisles I didn't need much, or what was empty, it wasn't stuff in that section I was looking for. However, I always like to look at the aisles in the supermarket, to get an idea of the store. I wish there was more staff in all of the aisles to help you, despite I could find stuff pretty easily. Acme does tend to get also get quite pricey, but I would say they do have overall good stuff! I do find this store has definitely everything though you will need. It's also very easy to get to, and it's convenient for me whenever I'm in the area! read more

First time on a Sunday at 5pm, here's what I found, some very good prices, some not so good, as a savvy shopper I completed 1/2 of my shopping list at bargain prices. (I omitted several items because other local shops were better bargains) store is well organized, great variety and some very fresh looking seafood and meat (prices were good here) an example of not a bargain, a brand of apple cider I purchased at another local store for $1.99 was $4.99 (ouch!) Scott tissue was great at 20 rolls for $11.00 Cooking oil bargain priced as well, store was not busy making shopping and checkout a pleasure, kind of reminds me of shopping at price club warehouse stores you need to know prices however a savvy shopper willing to "hop" multiple stores can do well here! read more

They never have any cashiers working. I had a cart full of stuff and my infant with me and had no choice but to go to self scan. After I had scanned everything and bagged it I realized I forgot my card so I was frantically counting my cash to see if I could even afford my groceries. The lady wearing a hijab working self scan told me "do you know it's card only?" and I shook my head no while still trying to count my money and again she goes "so you see that?? It says no cash." I said "yes ok so can you just move me somewhere else" she then tells me I can go to the other self scan to start re scanning. I'm said "can't you just print it out and rescan the barcode so I don't have to do that all over again?" And she tells me no. And actually stood there and watched as I unbagged, rescanned and rebadged everything. Not only have I worked in grocery stores but at THIS ACME, I have had my order suspended and rescanned at another register. Someone please train this rude employee. read more

Very disappointed in this supermarket. They're more expensive than Shoprite and I don't think they have as big of a selection. Also, I bought very expensive Organic Bananas here. Just left the local Acme Supermarket on Ferry Road. While I agree the store is very clean and organized, their prices are ridiculously high when compared to the local Shop-Rite. I did a line by line price comparison between the 2 stores and I was over charged in the ACME by about $ 28.00...Don't really understand why they do the "buy one, get 2 free" scam...just lower the prices to a reasonable sale price...For example, chicken breast was on sale for "bog2f" but yet the price of the chicken was actually $ 6.99 a pound...So they are scamming the people who do not buy that much...another example, we eat Oyster Crackers as a snack... In Acme, the "store" brand was on sale for $ 1.99 (usually $2.49), yet the Shop-Rite brand is always $ 1.19...as far as I can tell, the exact same product. read more
