I brought my 14-week-old baby here for an evaluation because he has a mild head preference. They told me he did not have torticollis, but said his right neck muscle was "tenser," that his frontal skull bones on the left were overlapping and creating a ridge that needed adjustment, that his right eye sometimes bulges due to skull bone movement, and that his left pelvic area was tighter than the right. The "treatment" consisted of about 1-2 minutes of very light finger pressure/massage on his neck. No actual functional assessment or clear medical explanation was provided, yet they suggested ongoing chiropractic care. After doing my own research and speaking with medical professionals, I learned that mild asymmetry, skull ridging, and muscle tone differences are normal in infants and typically resolve with normal development, positioning, and tummy time. Infant skull bones are meant to be flexible, and claims that they need manual "adjustment" are not supported by pediatric medical evidence. I felt unnecessarily alarmed by explanations that made normal infant development sound like serious problems, especially for such a young baby. I do not feel the visit provided value, and I would urge other parents to seek guidance from their pediatrician or a pediatric physical therapist before pursuing chiropractic care for an infant. read more

There is a reason they have 5 stars. I will admit I was skeptical considering the nature of the practice being like a gym with monthly memberships and that they take walk-ins. I was worried we would just be a number or care wouldn't be personalized but I was immediately blown away. The office is extremely kid friendly. They have a play house, a teepee and a train table for the kids to play with. Dr. Jen was so thorough with our daughter and did such a great job of explaining her findings and what the course of treatment would look like. She even took out a skeleton spine and skull to show exactly what was going on and what she was doing to help. We were previously seeing s chiropractor we love as well but I feel that Acorn is better suited to our needs and I left there feeling so confident that my family was getting the best care. read more

I have nothing but amazing things to say about our experience not only with this office but the Drs specifically. I have gone to the "old school" way of chiropractic since a child and I have never experienced a drop table form. This was so new to me and honestly not sure why not every chiropractor uses it. I was blown away by the education I received on how holistic chiropractic care is for the whole body from birth to adulthood. I first heard of Acorn through Facebook moms group. I was having horrible pain with my third pregnancy and needed help to walk without emancipating pain down my leg. I met with Dr Jacob for my intake and he fit me in fifteen minutes after my phone call. I immediately felt relief after being adjusted. I've never had that before. Dr Jacob was so informative of being adjusted during pregnancy, made me feel incredibly safe and well taken care of. Not only do I feel my recovery post partem was well taken care of, but we started taking all three of our kids and have seen dramatic improvements in their gate, behaviors, ear infections, and overall growth. My third baby has been getting adjusted regularly three days a week since birth. It's mind blowing seeing how less fussy, less gassy, more happy in general she is after our visits. Her latch was shallow, and the Drs were able to assist in her pallet for better BF. Wild!! My family took a three week vacation where we were unable to go to our regular visits and I could completely tell the difference and couldn't wait to get back to the office. I have a chronic condition, manage it pretty well with occasional chiropractic and mostly physical therapy. I wanted to come here because the gentle approach with drop-tables for when I do have an issue. This place "sells" very hard before your first adjustment. You'll be brought into a room for :45 min to be told about the chiropractic practice, and why you should do chiropractic. It's essentially the same information on the website, but you have to sign documentation afterwards. So buckle up kiddos, they want to sell you on the $250 first month unlimited package. Even with the cost, I used to like coming because it's a no-appointment structure. The amount dropped after your first months' buy in, and during a flare up I'd need it. I need to trust my practitioner when I'm in pain to help me remediate the issue without adding additional stress. Unfortunately Dr. Jacob can be pushy and downright rude. The only thing I can imagine, is: I swapped from monthly to individual visit because I'd be traveling instead of being a resident. His attitude began around this time. On one visit he was insistent my joint pain was "emotional health" and started going off about relaxing etc. Which at the time was mostly eyerolling and I did a bit of "handwaving" but wild man... because an orthopedic M.D give me a cortisone shot and fixed it right up! Sometimes it be like that. I just brushed it off, wasn't worth bringing up in a quick visit. The last visit was the kicker, he pressed and pressed for information from an intake form I'd filled out a month prior. While we were *actively* in session. It would have been helpful for some context (why are you questioning this now?) I had a migraine and couldn't remember details. He didn't want the chiropractors contact or for me to get records. Nay, he wanted me to call them for what? Sorry but, that chiropractor has since retired. (Context please? Why do you need me to do this after a half dozen visits with you?) It was a strange appointment that left me confused and unsettled. It was unprofessional and the discourse had people in the lobby staring because it did get uncomfortable. So look, I've been living with this condition and working with other DCs, and MDs for longer than his D.C degree was minted. I've never had someone treat me this way, and it's unfortunate because I like the easy approach of drop tables and casual drop in visits. THE ABSOLUTE BEST CHIROPRACTIC CARE!! I've been meaning to write a review for awhile - We LOVE Acorn. My family and I cannot recommend Acorn enough!! We have been members since 2021. Every single Doctor is truly amazing and we are so thankful for each one of them. With that being said, I can't thank Dr. Jacob enough for all he has done for me and my family. From prenatal to postpartum care, his knowledge and willingness to help is something special. I couldn't have gone though my pregnancy without him! He helped me tremendously with nausea, pelvic pain, cranial work, and the day I was in labor of course we had to stop by the chiropractor and see him. My birth was fast and easy and I know it was because of the chiropractic care I was given! Fast forward to My newborn- we struggling nursing and dealing with gas issues, Dr. Jacob took the time to reach out to his team, Dr. Jen and Dr. Brittany and they came up with a plan to help us immediately. From the first week to about a month and a half I saw a huge difference in my baby, feedings were more controlled and gas pains went from severe to very mild to none and that "colicky" or so I thought, was completely better. I sought out a chiropractor when my 10 year old was having hip pain. It has made a world of difference in her gymnastics. She has less pain now and looks forward to her chiropractic appointment. I had couple of sciatica flare. I tried chiropractor on top of other things to relieve pain and it did help a lot. They were able to readjust my back and other part of my body that I had no idea were displaced. I highly recommend them to take care of you. It is fast and easy to make appointment. I have been seeing a chiropractor since I was a child, I'm now 32 years old. I had lived in Vacaville for 10 years and went to the same chiropractor there for about seven of those years. I actually continued to drive out of town, for a year after I moved back to Napa, that is how dedicated I was to this one particular practice. What I loved the most about the chiropractor that I used to see was their view on chiropractic care, the way that they educated me about neurology and being adjusted while pregnant. As well as the fact that I was able to have myself and my kids adjusted an unlimited number of times per month. I was shocked when I found a very similar practice in Napa. About a year ago, a friend told me to go check out Acorn chiropractic, and I made my initial appointment with Dr. Jacob. I knew very instantly that this was a very similar practice to what I had been used to for almost a decade, and I was very excited to have a new place to call home. I have been getting adjusted 4 days a week for almost 10 years now. I have seen chronic conditions completely go away, my kids love to get adjusted and I appreciate feeling like Dr Jacob genuinely cares about my health and well being. Most people are limited with insurance to 20-25 visits a year, at a $25-$50 co pay. 20-25 visits a year is simply not enough and I don't need to have gone to medical school to know that. I've had my share of pain issues over my past 48 years of life. Like many of you, I was taught to "Walk it off." Nevertheless, my back pain would subside after a couple of weeks and was thus not a priority. However, recently my back introduced me to the joys of Sciatica type pain and it was brutal. I couldn't get out of bed or really walk without assistance and forget about picking up something off of the floor. I hadn't been to a chiropractor in 25-30 years but I knew I had to do something so I scheduled an appointment with Acorn. Upon my arrival, I met with Dr. Jacob who walked me through Acorns treatment philosophy. Then Dr. Jacob got to it. Before performing any procedures, he explained what he was doing and asked if I was comfortable with it. After he was done, he checked in with me to make sure that I was ok. In short order, he was finished and I walked out the door. I could immediately tell a difference. My back had previously felt like a set of miss-aligned Legos and when he was done it was immediately obvious that I had taken a big step in getting my back.... well.....back. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I immediately slept better and my Sciatica type pain subsided in a few days. I am very happy with my decision to give Acorn a try and as I write this I have already gone back for a second visit. My experience was very positive and results were immediate. The Napa Acorn office is inviting and even has mellow daycare vibes; the staff is very welcoming, especially for newbies like myself. He is such an amazing teacher who taught me so much about chiropractic care and specially how my body functions and what I should and shouldn't do for my body type.
