The Acorn Hill Lodge was a quaint gem hidden in a residential area of Lynchburg. The owner and host, Wanda, was so incredibly friendly and welcoming it was hard to not feel as if we were family. Her staff was so friendly and greeted you daily with warm, southern hospitality. The Bistro was like stepping into a country diner every morning. Our days began on the right foot when we had breakfast at The Bistro. If you are looking for a unique stay while in the Lynchburg area, look no further. Thank you to Wanda and her staff - you've outdone yourselves!

This food is incredible! Homemade bread. Homemade ketchup. Homemade everything. Truly amazing! We didn't get a chance to try the rotisserie chicken, but we heard it's the way to go. The staff is great. The room (honeymoon suite) is the perfect getaway for couples. Highly, highly recommend!

This establishment hasn't changed. Needs desparate attention to detail. Too bad. Just doesn't make the grade. Do not recommend it.

On a normal day I'd go in with my bestie, we'd order smoothies or a smoothie bowl (my fav), & enjoy the greenery & finely decorated ambience. The love & thought poured in Palmera House is visually evident, a true reflection of the designer/owner's essence. Owner, Erica, made booking this space a no-brainer for me. She responded to my inquiry form the same day I sent it & by the end of the day we had a contract in the works. She promptly answered all of my questions, soothed all of my doubts, &, when the original bartender could no longer make the event, she & her husband stepped in to help serve us at the party. Your perspective of a place changes when you become more familiar with the people running it & in this case I've become even more inclined to support this business. Thank you Palmera House!! P.S. they've recently expanded their menu & while you wait for your food you can walk around the adorable plant store that's attached!

We got engaged in February and had been wedding planning since then. Everything was made clear from the get go. It's very clear that Rebekah has a passion for people, weddings and for couples. The format of southern provisions venue rental for weddings is also excellent. Having the extra days built in to the rental to get things done at a steady pace makes the wedding day infinitely less stressful. As someone who likes to do everything in one day/knock everything out at once, I didn't fully appreciate this perk until it was happening, but It was great. There are countless other ways that choosing to get married at Southern Provisions was the best wedding planning decision we could make. If you're on the fence, or have any questions for someone who's had a wedding at the venue, my personal email is samthehanson@gmail.com. Send me an email. I am 100% down to let you know how AMAZING Southern Provisions is as a venue, and how tremendously sweet Rebekah Moody is as a person.

Upon COVID occurring, she illegally changed her taxes to take away the use of the ceremony room (forcing us to get married in the same room as our reception with guests sitting at tables) and took away the use of the dishes she has. I would have no issue with her had she of refunded monies for both ceremony room and dishes, but we had to rent out of our own pocket. You cannot expect for someone to contract and pay for something and then take it away without compensation. She breached the contract illegally twice without compensation and I've spoken to 3 other brides who she has done the same too who I also encouraged to take her to court over, as what she has done is ILLEGAL. I would of had so much grace had I of seen her attempt to make up for what she was taking away, as she expressed she was going to go bankrupt, hence taking away these things and disgustingly blaming it on COVID. She took these things away and expected us to be totally fine with that. We took her to court and she claimed my parents refused to pay, which is a total lie, in fact, she refused to take funds from us more than the deposit until she was sure what was going on with COVID which we professionally complied. Then she also claimed that my parents were unemployed to the judge... just what? Rebekah Moody is something else. She also tried to lie to the judge and tell him we brought 120 guests in, when we never went over 75 (her max is 80 currently). Mind you, she had no problem bringing in a bride and her family to tour the space on OUR DAY, well exceeding her occupancy on her own after forcing us to cut 1/3 of our guests 16 days before the wedding, which we did. During our meetings with her, I had stayed quiet and let my coordinator speak. At one point, I finally spoke up and began apologizing for how sorry I was that all of this was happening to her business, and said I understand this is difficult, and she rolled her eyes and I kid you not, stood up in the middle of my sincere kindness and left the room while I was still talking, in the middle of a professional meeting. She disappeared for 30 minutes and we didn't find her until my mom went and sought her out. After that meeting, I told my now husband I've never been more embarrassed in my life and he told me I had no reason to be, only she did. She acted more unprofessionally and immaturely than a teenager. I'm sorry Mrs. Moody, this shouldn't have gone this way had you of compensated what was contracted for. You cannot breach a contract in multiple places without compensation and act like that is fair. If it is in the contract and the price is agreed upon, that is what is to be given. Beautiful venue, not beautiful owner. If despite this, you still choose to use her, please be careful, she is a dirty business owner.
