Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Will cater to all levels of players and prices and services ie set ups, pick up installation etc are very reasonable. I've taken numerous guitars there and have always been extremely happy with their work. They could work o the front window display as it looks a bit messy and could dissuade you. Don't let that be the judge because inside is very organized and clean. The work they've done on my instruments has been done very quickly all and all. This was the first time I came here and I came on a recommendation of a friend who's kids take music lessons here. I figured she know what she's talking about when it comes to music shops! Boy, am I glad I listened. The fellow who helped us was AMAZING. We were looking for a ukulele (my daughter just started playing!) and WOW did he know what he was talking about. Not only were they displayed in a fun manner - on a palm tree - how can you beat that? But, he was fantastic in showing us what different types there were and didn't oversell us. He didn't make us feel like we knew nothing about musical instruments and allowed my daughter to try out the couple she wanted to try, plus he explained the differences in the types of instruments. The prices were comparable to the other shops in the city but Acoustic made us feel more welcome. They have a ukulele teacher for her if she is wanting to learn further but for now he suggested a great book as a starter for her to learn chords. I would definitely suggest this as your place to go for musical instruments. read more

I have had much better experiences here since I first started to visit. Sales people are much more attentive, and I have noticed a lot of good deals on both new and used instruments. If you come here often enough, you can sometimes even find a steal of a deal. I found a brand-name guitar here I was looking for, at $100 off the sticker price. I even got a gig bag at half price, and the store did some tune ups and changed the strings before I left. Really excellent service. read more

Acoustic is such a great little gem on East Whyte Avenue. I first had the pleasure of being introduced to this downstairs shop earlier this summer. I can't gush enough about the awesome staff - helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable ("The Big 3" for me). I'm a little bit musical, so I love spending time wandering around Acoustic. I don't play drums, but man, the drums in here are so pretty that I just might start. Today I came in to purchase a higher quality ukulele. I'm fairly inexperienced, but I really love playing my introductory ukulele, and play every day in my classroom. I'm so happy I came here. The gentleman helping me (I didn't get his name but he mainly works weekends!) was SO knowledgeable about every ukulele I asked about. I had a ton of questions and he was able to answer every one with ease, and add info as well. I ended up buying a concert ukulele after he showed me quite a few. I was given great care instructions and I have no hesitation on coming back here again if I need repairs or to purchase a new instrument. Thanks for making my day! read more

My worst customer service experience in 2012. Last week I visited this music shop as a new customer. I needed a 14" drum skin for my kit. I brought my old skin and told the guy I needed an Evans 2-ply 14". I even gave the guy my old skin for reference. He brought out a box, charged me, and sent me on my way. I got home, and the skin in the box was 13", single-ply and not even coated. Completely wrong item. 2 days later I bring the skin in and ask that they exchange it and they tell me, no way without a receipt. I look at him thinking, "buddy, this is your CPU code, obviously you screwed up". I'm in there on my own time and good will to rectify their problem. Give me a break. No deal. I come back the next week, with the receipt, and they won't give me my money back, stating "buyer beware - no refunds". Literally, those were his words. You can't be a legitimate, registered business in this city and sell products you refuse to be responsible for and then insist the duped customer accept the transaction. It's called "bait and switch" and it is illegal. A) The staff are poorly informed regarding the products they sell B) They won't give you back your money after they have sold you misrepresented products. I'm never going back and suggest you avoid their business. Brutal experience. read more

Staff here do not make you feel like they are superior and need to tell you all about it after they deign to ask if you need help. Here the staff are quick to help you find and try out the instruments that suit your needs and will share information about how the different brands tend to be used by their customers. Prices are very comparable to other local shops and they will order in if they don't have something In stock. Their techs are very helpful and ensure that all new product is in good working order before it hits the sales floor. read more

When I went to buy a new violin, the staff member working was incredibly helpful and gave me lots of time to try all of the violins that were available for sale. His patience was greatly appreciated! I really love my violin and the bow that I purchased that day. I was so inspired that I signed up for violin lessons to brush up! Sophie has been teaching me for the last few months. The music lessons are friendly, not intimidating at all, and my technique and sound has greatly improved with her help!
