Where other contractors canceled appointments, arrived late, or were just no-shows - Mikel (out of their Hudson office) arrived on time and did a thorough assessment of the roof including taking drone footage. He sat with me and walked me through the whole process clearly, explaining all my choices in materials and didn't push any product or add-on. I did receive marginally cheaper quotes, but they did not leave me feeling like my home was in good hands in the same way that Mikel did, and I felt the extra money was likely to be worth it. Once I decided to go ahead with them, again, everything was done very professionally. I was kept informed of times and everybody showed up exactly when they said they would. I made a small change to the scope of the work in replacing additional plywood sections of the roof, and these were easily accommodated on short notice. On the day of the work, the crew showed up on time and Jurgan (the site foreman) kept everything moving with minimal disruption to us. I was working from home, and my wife and kids were in and out of the house for school and errands. Despite replacing the entire roof of the main building and two additions over approximately 9 hours, there was minimal disruption to our days. The house was protected during the work, and even with snow still on the ground, their cleanup crew constantly walked the property picking up and disposing of any debris, nails, old material etc. Ultimately the roof was replaced successfully and looks good. Every step of the job was explained to me, every question answered, and every decision explained. The team was professional, punctual and courteous throughout. A couple of weeks in and we've had snow, rain and strong winds. Everything is still perfect. I can highly recommend Mikel and Jurgan from Golden Group, Hudson.

As part of the standard Cooks work list they stripped off 2 + layers, applied plywood sheathing, winter guard underlayment on top of roofing underlayment, installed ridge vent & soffit air vents. The crew was responsive and respectful of my requests, clean up was great not a single nail found afterwards.

We called a number of roofers who immediately said- yes, you need a new roof. Thank God we had Cook come to check. Yes - Cook told that he would need to do a new roof NOT because the roof was bad, but because we had a problem with not enough venting and soffit vents, etc. That is why we had moisture trapped in the attic. Cook explained that if the roof was less than 5 years old, then he could just do all the venting, but the only way he could guarantee all of his work ( on a 20 year old existing roof ) was to replace the roof AND do proper venting. We are so glad we did, as none of the other roofers mentioned anything about venting being the real problem. He came over to check out the leak, he and his team showed up on time, and the work was done in a day. Seriously, a DAY. - The name is accurate.
