My past hs physics teacher Rob Black and his crew were so cool to dive with and made my friends' and my 1st time memorable. First you go through an educational part so you know the play by play of what's to come. Then you change into a cool flight suit, parachute pack, goggles. Next thing you know you're boarding a little plane ascending 13k feet to the clouds. I'll never forget the launch- my tandem instructor and I sat at the edge of the plane opening, he goes "Ready, 1...." And then he hurled us both out! I was expecting for us to go at "3!" Free fall was such a freeing experience - I was flying! I was on top of the world and remember seeing little squares of green, brown on the ground and the wind flapping my cheeks. I will never forget that feeling. Then 3 taps and the parachute emerged and we soared and eventually floated down and landed. Recommend getting the package with the pics and video so you can relive the experience! I was on a high the rest of the day and still remember this experience vividly several years later. Highly recommend Skydance!

That trust was broken in the worst possible way. While accidents can happen in extreme sports, there were serious questions about the training, equipment checks, and emergency response. Communication afterward was cold and unhelpful, making an already impossible situation even harder. If you're considering skydiving with them, please think carefully. No thrill is worth a life. We hope no other family has to go through what we did.

We drove to iFly Roseville from Sonoma County for my son's birthday. I wasn't sure what to expect,…read morebut we were greeted warmly and brought into the main area to get suited up. Our instructor was John-Felix, although he goes by John. My son is 22 and fairly athletic, so I figured that he'd enjoy it. What I was less prepared for was how much I loved it! It is a fairly expensive hobby, although, if you're on-site after paying for a session, they have more reasonable rates if you want to buy additional sessions. Since we don't live locally, I didn't indulge in one of the packages, despite the temptation. They walk you through everything clearly and there's a brief training class in a classroom after which we waited our turn on the perimeter while we were called up one at a time. Each "flight" was approximately 1 minute and 20 seconds and we each got two flights. We all passed on the high flight option, but during our second time they walked us through how to begin navigating in the wind tunnel during our turn. That was my favorite part! I found it fascinating feeling the degree to which small modifications in the angle of my hands or the extension of my arms changed my position and movement in the air. I felt like a bird. The flights are brief, but memorable and meant to resemble the length of time usually experienced during a skydiving jump. We didn't pay for the high flights, but we enjoyed our experience nonetheless. Our instructor was encouraging and helpful. At the end, he did a quick demonstration of the types of tricks that can be done with training, all sorts of spins and flips! Already considering when we can make it back again. * Word to the wise, my kids both have long hair and they both ended up wishing they'd had it tucked into their suits since it got significantly tangled and required quite a lengthy communion with a hairbrush afterward to get the tangles out. I think a braid might also be a good option.

I'm the kind of person who only writes reviews if I have a great experience or something positive…read moreto say. After thinking and overthinking, I feel compelled to say that John is a JOKE. I couldn't stay silent about this. I love adventures, and if you're like me, don't waste your money and time. John said he would email us the night before to confirm the jump, depending on the weather. He sent the email confirming the jump, everyone knew it would be drizzling. It was a long drive for all jumpers (2-3 hours), and when we arrived at the confirmed location, he spent the entire time trying to convince us not to do the adventure. He kept saying it would be cold (today is 12/28/24 it was 52 degrees in Placerville) and wet (really? You knew it'd be drizzling since yesterday). And he said it wasn't dangerous and he has experience in all weather conditions...but since we were all women, apparently we were too weak, right John?! He asked if we'd be okay with the weather and all the women (four jumpers) said we'd be fine. However, he apparently wasn't happy with our response, so he continued trying to dissuade us. The guy with him, Ludo, was really cool, uplifting, and professional (Dude! If you're reading this, go start your own business; you're great). Anyway, after everyone reassured him about the weather, John asked me if we could talk privately. He then expressed his concern that I might not be able to do the adventure because I'm on the "heavier side." Just to clarify, I'm a 5'7" woman, 140 lbs, and very active. When I unzipped my jacket he goes : "-oh wow, you got a flat stomach, but you know what?? Are you sure your friends would be ok to be out there in the cold with you?" (I had two guests with me) With the other woman, he claimed she didn't have the right clothes and continued to discourage us for over an hour. Even when we said we were ready to go and do the jump, he said he'd cancel it. Furthermore, if you didn't know, he doesn't have a permit for his "adventures". Be careful, don't trust your life to this guy.

They thoroughly answered any questions that my group had and were continuously asking if anyone had any questions or concerns. My group sprung for the whole picture, video, and GoPro packages and it was absolutely worth it! The GoPro in particular was able to capture our exact reactions when we fell and is a great way to look back on such a unique memory. (But as John warned, do not let the GoPro interfere with being aware during your jump). One of my group members has a history of back problems so they recommended going with the body harness instead of the ankle harness we all paid for. She immediately got her money back and I was reassured that I could switch harnesses if I ended up chickening out of the ankle one. However, I am so happy I went with the ankle harness as it truly felt like I was flying during the jump. You may choose to go forward or backward and let me tell you it is terrifying to turn around on the railing but definitely worth it!! The location we went to was breathtaking and peaceful. I cannot wait to return to jump again!

We the weather being so unpredictable we had to wait. I was fine with wait because i do value my life. I had the chance to cross off a major item from my bucket list. A hot air balloon ride and wow, what an experience! The views were absolutely breathtaking. Floating high above the landscape, seeing everything from a completely new perspective, was truly magical. The sunrise was especially beautiful as we drifted along, and the silence up there, broken only by the loud occasional burst of the burner, was unlike anything I've ever experienced. That said, there were a few things to consider. The heat from the burner can be overwhelming, especially if you're not prepared for it. I didn't wear a hat, and I really wish I had and i am short 5'2 those blasts of hot air can get pretty intense when they hit you directly! So, if you're planning this trip, definitely bring something to cover your head. The landing was a bit of a wild ride, too. The ground was much harder and more uneven than I expected, and we didn't quite know where we'd land until we were almost on top of it. Also getting in and out can be extremely challenging. It's hard climbing into and out of the basket and it's very tightly packed. Not a lot of space to move. I knew the risks going in but the whole experience was so worth it. Even with those little surprises, it was absolutely incredible. Would I do it again? Definitely not! Despite the heat and the bumpy landing, the beauty of the experience makes it all worthwhile and a one timer for me. I highly recommend it if you're looking for something unique and unforgettable to add to your list of adventures. Just don't forget your hat!

I did get cancelled on a few times, I was at first annoyed, instant gratification junky, but then realized they have no control over the weather AND safety comes first. That earned my respect right there. We met at the site at 6 am, not 6:01 or 6:12, 6am or before. Temperature plays a huge role in height and duration of flight. On time and safety are expected and delivered. At 6 sharp the ride started with tip over training, safety, and a brief roll call and waiver check and explanation. Important stuff! The balloon is beautiful and the pilots wife makes sure there are plenty of pics, she's super sweet and helpful. Takeoff is a bit disorienting, part helicopter, part jump. Once you hit the sky though, it's amazing. It is such a great feeling to float. Tim has a great sense of humor and can tell a story with gusto... between bursts of fire into the balloon. I have no idea how high we were but cows were hard to make out, they were that small. The morning couldn't have been more perfect. The landing was a bit bumpy, our training came in handy. Jarring like an old truck indoors a rough road, easy. As we waited for the truck to come and get us Tim gave us a wee history lesson on ballooning, with a champagne toast. I've been smiling all day. Independent and local, experienced and a perfect way to fly. Highly recommended is an understatement.
