I think these characters are no longer there. Also, complaining about what they pay is useless. They state clearly that everything you bring to them it is just metals, so what an item cost originally or is worth is of no concern. Just ask your self why you are "recycling" ? For me it is not to make money. I don't follow the going rates for metals. I like to do good for the environment and the few bucks you get can be spent at the hot dog place next door:-) It's close to where I work and I am happy to have this place for drop off, instead of putting stuff into regular garbage. It wasn't an easy move! Their final price (based on # of trucks & helpers needed) was in line with what I've paid for other similar home-clearing jobs, too. He also was honest about what might / might not be able to be donated, which was refreshing. Interestingly, we were given their name by another NJ hauler that we've used in the past, and had an excellent experience with, but who didn't service this northern area.
