I had a crackhead taking care of my copper. they don't separate anything the right way. and throw clean copper in dirty. clean COPPER Fittings in the dirty. and the crackhead was disrespectful when I questioned it. all my tradesmen out there ACTION RECYCLING WILL SCAM YOU. all my copper saving for rent got me walking out with way less than I should've.. also this place should be checked. the guys jaw was moving whole time I was trying to explain something. and didn't want to listen. The last 2 times I took aluminum cans in the worker threw my aluminum foil into a box on the side and said they don't take "tin foil" and then argued with me that it wasn't aluminum. They didn't offer it back to me so I assume they are just selling it and keeping the money since it is aluminum. read more

For all the sufferable smells and sights it takes to recycle some tin cans, I probably wouldn't come back unless they paid me at least 20$ for the two-four pounds we brought in. For 2$ payout I'll just rip the tips off and take them to the Arvada coffee shop for some weird community project instead. read more

Hello there! So there's a few misconceptions about this place (Action Recycling Center) With COVID-19 being in place, their hours have changed like most other places, even big stores such as Walmart. Their hours Mon-Fri 8:30-4:30Pm & Sat 8-4Pm. Also when it comes to closing, like every other place, they ask for people to come 15 minutes before, so don't be that person who shows up last minute. They do have a strict policy as well with masks (it's mandatory). They are pretty nice people too, when you see a person on the street with no mask (nowadays), the average person doesn't just go up and yell at them. They're only asking for us to be considerate, since they are in the heat (or cold) all day long while wearing masks. Plus! Aren't they the ones who are gathering, sorting, and picking up your materials? That takes a toll on one's body, just saying‍ Lastly, when it comes to how clean the place is, it can get dirty yes, but they really do try to keep on top of it Thanks Action Recycling for being open during this pandemic and wish all of you guys well! Funny how the one star reviews are from a person mad that they wouldn't serve him after business hours (clearly stated that they close at 4:30 online), and another person making racist comments. Ignore these jerks... I've had nothing but good experiences. Yes, they get busy like everyone and sometimes get backed up. You can't expect them to pay for more employees than they normally need or bring someone in on call because everyone decided to recycle their cans on the same day. It's a recycling yard, so yes it's messy. As far as taking my recyclable metals and paying for the ones that are valuable, this is a great business! read more

Action Recycling has the best prices and the kindest employees. I have been coming here for years. Even after I moved further away from this location I still take the drive to do my recycling at Action Recycling Center. They do get busy but that's because they give the best prices. I have seen customers make things difficult for the employees, So when reading other reviews please keep that in mind. Knowing they get busy I bring my recycling when I know they aren't as busy. I have always been treated with respect and they have always been helpful. Especially when I am bringing in a lot. These negative reviewers are SO ignorant. Quit crying about everything online. Bring your stuff in clean and sorted out you'll get more (they buy it for lower price if everything mixed together in same container) Are you kidding me? These guys don't discriminate haha it might get busy and you have to be a little patient but. They buy based on how youve sorted what materials you have. Cans aren't worth much right now. They're empty pop and beer cans, what do you expect? You aren't gonna get a whole lot scrapping, unless you have a LOT of clean copper pipe or bare bright. Did some recycling here over the weekend. You'd really do have to know what to do here or be willing to find someone that is. They stay pretty busy, and with the clientele they have, they really have zero reason for customer service. Once I figured the place out I actually really liked it. I get the feeling that this place is more for the professional scroungers/scrappers than the average consumer but, they do take a lot of stuff that I'm usually glad to be rid of. Take for instance the old motorcycle batteries and battery out of a car that we no longer have. I figured I would have to pay to get rid of them. The mexicano worker pointed toward a scale and I figured that I was going to be paying by the pound to get rid of them. So I waited in the line for the cashier and when it was my turn, I reached for my wallet only to be handed some bills and coin. Cool, being paid beats paying no matter the amount in my book. read more

I like to recycle however this place has no signs to lead you at all. I pulled up and there is not alot of room for cars/trucks. I sat there for a few minutes and had to get out of the truck to try to find someone to help me as to where to start. Too crowded of a space and no one to help does not lead to good business. I think in the future I will find somewhere else to recycle. read more

Low paying, as much as 50% less than Atlas. To add insult to injury their unfriendly and sometimes hostile staff impose rediculous policies geared towards finding reasons to slight you out of more money for your valuable recyclables. When I questioned a classification of one of the items I was turning in the man handling my goods became enraged and rudely told me to get out and not come back. I was polite and respectful when speaking to him and was shocked at his reaction. I turned the item in question in at a competitor and was correct in my assessment. I recommend going to Atlas or All Recycling (the south location, the staff at the other facility are scoundrels as well). Atlas pays the best and are far more professional. All Recycling is a distant second but their pay rate is comparable. read more

Wow this place is something else I will never return in my life unless I were desperate which will never be. For one thing I have read other reviews about this place and would have to agree about one thing, the staff were very pleasant that's it. I think why is they think if we are nice we can still rip people off. That is exactly what occurred, I scrap not for a living but on my days off for extra cash, I loaded up my truck with over 500lbs of scrap metal and proceeded to action recycling center, I do have to agree with previous comments stating there is no signage to tell you anything and lack of employees to help you. Anyway I got my truck weighed with the scrap I had, mind you they don't let you see how much was weighed anyway we unload all the scrap we get a ticket showing our weight after we unload all of it and can't get it back, so my wife was looking at me in disgust about the weight I said without looking at it just go get the cash we will figure it out. She said no look at this, it showed my truck weight at 3500 pounds which is right but the weight of scrap showed a 195 pounds only. I said whoa whoa not correct. The reason being is where I picked up the scrap I had picked up this scrap at a warehouse yard which they weighed for me there I did so because I'm not stupid I'm not going to go over the limit requested for this truck it weighed 563 pounds. So I said cool I will take it. I parked it for a day and then went on Monday which was July 20th 2015. So after all of that I was paid $5.35 for my scrap metal. Wtf man this is bullshit, I should have received over 15 dollars for this transaction at 3 cents per pound. They ripped me off and said 195 pounds I'm missing 365 pounds where the fuck is it. Oh that's right they say you have less so they in fact make the bigger profit not the little guy. I urge everyone not to ever go here they will not pay you what is deserved. I found a awesome place to go the same day as they pay 90 to 100 dollars a ton which is awesome they pay great for aluminum and copper and brass and stainless steal. BTW you can also see your weight immediately when weighed. This place is off ivy from the I-70 please you won't regret it. All scrappers go there I don't want you to get fucked up the ass from this place. read more

Zero customer service. Constantly referred to as "bro". Basically, as unprofessional as a business can get. It was so bad we dropped off our scrap and left just so we could get out of there. Avoid unless you enjoy having a bad experience. read more

Several times when I took my cans there I felt they weighed my cans wrong. Last time I went I had 2 trash bags full of crushed cans that I weighed several times to be sure that they weighed 22 pounds. Their scale said 16 pounds. I didn't say anything because I recycle just to recycle. But for anyone who needs the money, DO NOT GO HERE! read more
