I had lingering lower-back pain for a few weeks from crossfit. I thought and hoped it'd go away on its own after lessening my gym visits and working with lighter weights. The dulling pain became too much that I needed an expert to assess. Dr. Le is fantastic! I really appreciate that he has experience and knowledge with crossfit and weightlifting, so he is able to ask pointed questions about those movements to address where the problem lies. He performed a combination of therapies: active release followed by a myofascial release, dry needling and cupping. He finished my session with an oh-so-satisfying chiropractic adjustment. I usually do not write reviews, but I feel like this is something I must do/share! I work in a challenging job where I sit behind a computer about 70-80% of the time. Sometimes I need to move heavy equipment and whatnot. The years doing this has put a toll on my traps and lower back(sciatic nerve pain was normal for me and would lose sleep). To be honest I never really understood the benefits of chiropractors, and felt silly asking. Most health care professionals seem to be in a rush to see you quickly then see you out the door. What I found helpful about Thomas was he is REALLY good at explaining what he is doing, why, and how it impacts the rest of your body. I asked a ton of questions and he never got annoyed, just patiently and concisely answered me. It's true we spend a lot of money eating out, traveling, and on material goods, but yet we hesitate to invest in our mental and physical well being. Well, with age the creaks and cricks are getting harder to ignore, and I'm glad there's a place like ACTIV that seems to actually care about their patients' well being vs churning them in one after another. I've had neck, shoulder and upper back issues from always being on a computer, compounded with some elbow issues for awhile from gym. I would go get massages sparingly, but mostly I just tried to ignore it. When I visited ACTIV, Thomas knew exactly what my bad habits were. I even tried some of the cupping (there are tiny baby sized cups for small arms like mine!) and learned different stretching exercises. Overall, I find it helpful that I'm treated as a client, not a $ sign, and that I learn a LOT each time I visit. You do need to be on time for appointments, so that each patient gets the same amount of care, but I think that is a good thing. read more

My first encounter with Dr. Le was when he was working at The Joint. I was a regular at The Joint and I typically see different chiropractors from visit to visit. So it was by dumb luck that I was seen by Dr. Le at The Joint when I had injured my back while working out doing a dead lift movement. As a self-proclaimed gym rat, back injuries like that are pretty scary because they can knock you out of the gym for weeks if not months. Dr. Le assessed my situation and told me that it was probably a minor disc herniation. He gave me some treatment and an adjustment. Told me to rest and not do anything for a couple of weeks and follow up with him afterwards. He could tell I was very concerned with my situation and even told me to call him any time with any concerns that I might have regarding my back. On top of all of this, he gave me some sound advice on what had brought me to him in the first place. Dr. Le said that he also works out and gave me some pointers on the proper dead lift form and ways to prevent throwing out my back in the future. When the time finally came to go back to the gym, I was able to hit my personal record (345lb) without a hitch thanks in no small part to Dr. Le. I was never compelled to write a review for him when he worked at The Joint since it seems to be a large chain company. However, when Dr. Le told me he was going to open his own clinic... I thought it would be worth it on his behalf to share with everyone.
