So I logged onto the State Farm site and signed up for renters insurance. Sharlene promptly gave me a call. She quickly became my new agent. Primarily because she is very polite and professional. I secured a renters insurance plan for only about $8 per month! If my experience had ended there it would have been a 4.5 Star transaction... TRAGICALLY it did not. Since I was also in the market for Auto insurance as well I figured it couldn't hurt to get a quote. I told her that all I needed was the state minimums as I have never been in an accident (Knock on wood). She sent me over a quote for about $80 per month. It sounded about what I was paying for in California so I agreed. Two months passed... I miraculously received my first bill in the mail. It was sent to the wrong address but the post office managed to get it to me anyways. The bill read $145 for the month!!! Good God! My rate had almost doubled! I now owed nearly $300 for two months of auto insurance! I was an idiot and paid it, because they told me that if I canceled then they would have to report it and my rates would go up for not having coverage between policies. 20 days later I get home and check the mail and find a bill sent to the wrong address with my name on it. My monthly insurance rate is now $225.05 for the month! FML!!! 3 months into my plan, my rates have dramatically increased with each consecutive passing month without letting me know why. After a number of calls to State Farm, they still cant send my mail to the proper address. I have never in my entire life had such a terrible experience with any company. Do not do business with them, YOU WILL REGRET IT!

The absolute worst experience with a claim for wind and hail damage, being told for months and…read moremonths by Andrew Biscay that he was working on our claim. Meanwhile he had us running around getting bids, sending vendor bids to his email , one week later he told me he could not locate it (this went for 3 weeks) finally he did see the bid and told us that the contractor had to add a description of the hail and wind damage, this was update and sent back to Andrew within 24 hours - then he writes the claim is closed and he tried hard to help us , Sorry ! We have 3 bids from 3 different reputable companies claiming damage. Additional photos and details information will be added at a later date. Andrew Biscay office in Excelsior MN and the American Family Company is UNFAIR !!!!! Andrew thanks for your reply but that's incorrect your adjuster took photos of the damage , he marked several areas and explained in detail the damages . You have declined to pay for to fix the wind and hail damages _ we expect to be compensated for the damage and not the entire roof . The phone conversation I had with Alberteen was the unprofessional, I called to ask a question regarding a photo on page 32 She REFUSED to open the report and told me 'I've been looking at this all day , you are not getting a new roof and no matter what you say or ask it's not changing our decision ".
