I am actually shocked they haven't lost their liquor license. Port Huron doesn't have a lot of great bars but this one is the probably the scariest and the dirtiest out of all of them. You couldn't pay me to come back and I hope the city shuts it down before more people get hurt or someone else loses their life.

Situated in the heart of Port Huron's South Park industrial district, it once was the haunt for blue collar Joe's who worked as the likes of Anker - Holth, Ogden Moffett, Gibraltar Sprocket and the old Autolife/Prestolite. It suffered when this area was hit hard by the rust belt woes of the 70's, 80's and 90's, with all but neighboring Port Huron Building Supply left, and by the early 2000's many wondered not if Jack's would close, but when. As such, Jack's probably would have gone the way of so many small working-class bars, but a couple years ago some key things changed to ensure not only it's survival, but a comeback. The biggest was that the former Tomlin's drugstore, long the fixture at the corner of Electric Avenue and Connor Streets, was torn down. This suddenly gave Jack's a frontage that it never had, and it became "found "by hipsters in the area. It became a cool place to be, and suddenly 20-something's were seen packing a place that less than two years before was usually inhabited by a handful of Baby Boomers and 70 and 80 something's who had pretty much nearly embalmed themselves into oblivion. Somehow or another, the word then worked its way down to the Detroit area and across to neighboring Canada, and it, along with Neil's across the street (the former Sportsman's) have become a new destination point in the community. The difference between this and so many other hipster places that serve drinks is that Jack's was serving PBR and Schaefer's before it was cool, and the atmosphere, in all it's Knotty-pine glory, is truly authentic rather than the faked stuff thrown together in many places. The staff is usually pretty friendly, but it can now get hectic and a bit crowded on the weekend (still seems weird to say that for a guy that grew up in this area). Some might qualify it as a dive bar, but I just see it as your classic neighborhood hang out that thankfully survives into the 21st-century.

They accuse people of going to the bathroom together When they clearly are in two separate bathrooms. I was appauld when this happened cause the couple clearly went two separate directions. Dee has zero respect for her customers and act as though she owns the place we see this couple in there all the time Btw... they are always friendly and polite. I would never recommend going in there when her and Johnny are working. John watches men piss accusing them of false accusations. They allow patrons to be disrespectful and come in smelling like weed. See leaves the bar to smoke a lot while John puffs on the devils lettuce. For a small local business that treat loyal patrons so disrespectful is awful We watched her berate a couple and be so rude they left. I will now never go in there because of what she did With Johnny. So so ridiculous. With small businesses needing patrons and to watch her treat others the way she does is crazy. I would never recommend going in there if her and her "bodyguard" are working. She allows this to happen and it's so sad. We snagged it and was dumbfounded by not only how many people were there but by the high energy and smiles. I was educated by my in-laws that the Brass Rail Bar is loved by many because of it's history and after being closed for a while after a death (I think) and covid, when it reopened, is packed full all days of the week. We went in specifically to try their Tom & Jerry cocktail which is evidently a Port Huron staple during the Christmas season. I can't remember the ingredients but they were delicious!!! I love that The Brass Rail is a family ran business and it is obvious how much love and passion goes into this business. I'll continue to visit this bar many years into the future, amazing place!

Their Buffalo Chicken Salad is one of the best salads around and is always a great choice. The outdoor seating area is fantastic, especially during the warmer months. They also offer bingo, cornhole, and live bands, which makes it a fun place to spend an evening. The service is always friendly and attentive, there's plenty of parking, and even when they're busy, the food comes out surprisingly fast. Overall, it's a great local spot that I highly recommend.
