Wow. I'm new to the area and am being pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and variety of dishes here near Michigan's Thumb. This place was a real find! The pancakes were perfect,the Canadian bacon was superb, regular bacon was crispy, the eggs were not runny. The Anmerican fries were a little dry, so I just added some butter and they were delish. I've been coming here since I was a child and was just in a few weeks ago after going to the Hot Wheels weekend to have dinner with a few friends. I enjoy this place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's dated and the booths aren't overly comfortable for me, but the food is good. I often get a burger or sandwich when I go in or an omelette for breakfast. The staff are often fun to talk to when I go in as well, which is not always the case in a post COVID era where some waitstaff expect us to tip big for less service as if they are the only ones affected by staff shortages. These staff treat you right and deserve good tips. Probably my favorite restaurant in Marysville and the one I frequent the most when I am in the area. read more

TURN DOWN THE MUSIC! I've always enjoyed this restaurant (over 30 years) and considered it my go to place to enjoy a good meal. They've made improvements to the building but the service hasp definitely gone down hill. During my last visit the music was so loud that my family had a difficult time communicating . It felt as if the restaurant is trying to become a nightclub. I politely asked the waitress if she could possibly have the volume turned down. She replied with "I know what you mean but the manager likes it that way" while rolling her eyes. I asked, so you can't get it turned down? To which she responded "Nope! Now what do you want to eat?" Suggestion to Four Star Management: * Turn down the volume of the music!! * Teach your waitress how to be friendly. Don't know her name but she was wearing a tacky homemade knitted hat. Personally I like their breakfast a lot. There are a lot of choices on the breakfast menu. And I take advantage of their online menu quite a bit. I love the results. Dropped in for the first time yesterday on New Year's Eve as we wanted something quick and light before our party and the kids wanted igloo dining. Immediately four star grille came to mine. We ended up getting a reservation for 8 easily as it was early in the day which was nice. Upon arriving we were seated promptly and the igloo quickly came up to temp which was nice...never were we uncomfortable temp wise. Our service was prompt and attentive. Drinks and soups/salads came fast. All of our chick soups were Luke warm at best and very salty...pretty disappointing. The rest of our meals were on par with any family stile dining option in the area. Nothing stood out but then again nothing was bad either. All in all a pretty standard experience however I will say the igloos and the ambiance of the outdoor patio as a whole was very nice. read more

This restaurant used to be excellent, but since they added all new tables and alcohol. They have had to raise their prices. The food is good, but priced to high for dinner. I must update my review of the 4 Stat Grille. I have always enjoyed the food there, good diner eating. The food on this last visit was as good as always. But the service when we walked in last night at 8:30 pm was tremble. We waited at the door for a good 7 - 9 minutes before the staff that was seated at a table putting silverware in napkins looked at us. Not one of them greeted us or got up to seat us. Finally after our wait one lady got up and asked how many. I so wanted to say the 3 that have been standing here looking at you sitting!! I could see having to wait if the place was full but there were only 2 tables with people the rest of the place was empty. I guess they have all of the business they need because I will not go back anytime soon. read more

My mother and I went to this restaurant for breakfast this morning. We really didn't know what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere, the friendly wait staff, and the menu! It was a very tough decision on what we were going to eat, and although Jeff, our waiter gave some great advice, we decided to shop the breakfast specials menu, and both ended up getting the two egg, meat, potatoes, & toast for a mere $4.99! It was WONDERFUL, and oh, so filling! They do NOT skimp on the servings. My mom and I were both impressed with the American fries. It is like a coarse hash brown, very well cooked, and we were able to add onion. YUM! Jeff was exceptional as a waiter, as he was very helpful and attentive. Also, the cleanliness of the restaurant did not escape our attention, as my mother observed Jeff even wiping down the seats of a table that just opened up! Lunch today at Four Star was great. I was happy with my (extremely messy) Chicken Gyro Wrap. I added fries (nice and crispy like I like them) and a cup of Chicken Noodle Soup to make it a combo. The soup was good. Chunks of carrots, little bits of chicken and wide egg noodles. Everything seemed to be very clean and tidy, and our waitress knew her job and did it well. At the check-out stand I was tempted by the Greek pastry display... Wedding Cookies, Butter Tarts, Baklava, and something else that escapes my memory. Anyway, I grabbed a Butter Tart for my sweetie. I've been here before and the food is good nice portions tastes great- although when my friend and I were there this past Sunday- granted we did come to catch part of the game (Lions/SF)- we arrived at about 6:15-6:20 my friend was in the car on a call but I went in to get seated- other guests were arriving and being seated- at 6:45 waitstaff came to tell me that they would be closing the kitchen at 7 so I have to order now because the cooks won't get paid after 7- at that point other guests were being turned away at the door- posted hours were "open till 9"- my friend made it in at about 6:55- we hurried to order- and were approached many times (atleast 4) during the 1/2 hour we were there asking how we are doing do we need to go containers - they clearly wanted to leave and it was comically uncomfortable (there was another table there as well) a waitstaff person kept saying "I just want to go !" they were clearly wanting to go to a football watching party- we got our bill and left as they locked the door behind us- we hadn't even got out of the parking lot when a car was speeding from the back to leave- my suggestion is that they knew there was going to be a football game on so they should've discussed closing earlier and stopped seating at 5:30 or 6- they made it very uncomfortable for my friend and I to finish eating- we would've found another place to eat- with or without a tv and the game on .. read more

Food was decent it usually is. Service is average at best. It just doesn't seem to be up to par with what this establishment used to be. Prices have gone up but nothing else has improved. We made a reservation for an igloo for my mother's birthday. However upon arrival the igloo was 51 degrees. So much for a heated igloo experience. I guess my advice is to make sure they turn the heat on for you before you arrive, instead of when you arrive if it's cold out. The igloo was what brought us to the establishment. I 'm very disappointed on my service from the owner of this restaurant. I returned a meal because it was burnt tasting. The owner came out and said he couldn't return the meals but he would get us whatever we wanted. I had told him if they were going to charge for both meals then I didn't want the salad. I had already returned the burnt steak with the waitress and she asked if I wanted something else. I ordered a Chicken Salad. Then upon receipt of the bill both the Steak and the Salad were on the bill. I went to talk to the owner and The waitress said he would not take it off the bill and I seen him slide out the door.
