CHEVRON (31251 Goffs Rd, Essex, CA 92332) the only in about a 100 mile radius that is conveniently remodeling with not a single gasoline pump, only 1 diesel pump working. Called ahead and they did not inform me about the situation while I was on the phone just let me drive myself there to be taken advantage of. There's a tow truck guy named Tyler from Active Towing chatting it up with the owner of the gas station ready to charge you $250 for the service of giving you gas while you are stranded not able to make it to the next station because it's 50 miles away. He just waits there all day taking advantage of people and I suspect the gas owner and the tower are teamed up taking advantage of people. Very apparent when you are there. Had tons of empty gasoline refill containers. Why wouldn't you fill those up as a store owner and sell them if you have a conscience instead of partnering up with a towing company... Or leave at least one pump open while you remodel. Called the towing company and they said it's been going on for two weeks now. Everyone's making some bank. Wonder how long the remodel will take while everyone is cashing in so big! Shame on the towing company just waiting there with gas and still charging the whole $250. At first they told me it would be the following day before they could get a driver to me , I had to get a little gruff with the dispatcher and requested they either reject the call so I could be re dispatched to another company or find a driver. They found a driver. I only had to wait about 2 hours and they sent a kid named Shane out... I being a former repair shop owner and tow truck owner myself, (retired). I was fully aware of the process and procedures related with this tow. Shane was cleancut, polite and professional. He informed me he was reasonably new to the trade and 3-4 years or so.. He was aware of my background and said he was nervous being critiqued by a veteran driver. i replied to him no need, you're doing just fine. all in all he was prompt, efficient, professional, and extremely accommodating to us.
