Luckily, I met another mom who had just learned about Trivium, and told me about the new Plano campus opening. We are now 3 months in, and I could not be more thrilled with her education. They utilize classic education techniques, and also include amazing technology designed to help identify both "gifted" areas and areas that need a little more attention. My daughter is absolutely thriving at Trivium, and is genuinely excited to go every day. I also love that the Trivium teachers and staff encourage parent participation in the school. They seem to want all parents to be involved, but without pressuring them if time doesn't allow. Because of this, I've gotten to meet other teachers (aside from my daughters), other parents, and all her friends. This is huge because I can it enables me as a parent, to see the people who surround my daughter every day. It is so important to have a good "village" to support your child's educational (and social) growth, and I feel like I've found that at Trivium. We can't wait to keep growing with the Trivium community!

We submitted every required admission document a full week before school began, including complete information about my son's previous school, and he was accepted without issue. Yet on only his second day, he was abruptly removed over a code-of-conduct matter from his previous school. He had no behavioral issues at Trivium and genuinely loved attending. Worse, his belongings were packed up in front of classmates, causing unnecessary humiliation and emotional distress. Despite repeatedly contacting Principal Chrissi Cawthon and Superintendent Sheryl Bradley and requesting documentation and investigation details, we received no meaningful explanation or accountability. This experience was unacceptable, and I would give this campus the absolute lowest rating possible.

Before enrolling my child for a 3-day program at Goddard, my spouse and I met with Jamie (the owner) and staff members, along with my child's ABA therapy team to discuss expectations. (We and our therapy team met with facility staff again prior to enrollment.) Initially Jamie assured us they could accommodate a child with special needs. However, that was not the case. Challenges soon surfaced. At a morning drop off, my child became upset I was leaving. Instead of the teacher redirecting her, the teacher told me my non-verbal child "didn't like it in here" and offered no assistance so I could leave the class. It was suggested instead that I could drop off my child at a later time (8:30am) so her homeroom teacher could take care of her, which conflicted with ADA guidelines. This issue continued and multiple times it was suggested to us that we drop off our child at 9am when a teacher would be available in my child's home classroom. When my wife told Jamie that a 9am drop off does not work for us, Jamie actually suggested my wife work with front office staff regarding scheduling. Then when I brought this issue to Jamie weeks later, Jamie said she didn't know staff had suggested we bring our child at a later time, yet she would not solve the issue. The initial care in my child's home class was great with 3 dedicated teachers. But after staffing changes, the quality noticeably declined. This was confirmed by our child's BCBA (part of my child's therapy team) who came to Goddard multiple times to observe/train staff at our request. When the BCBA brought this to the attention of office staff, Courtney told the BCBA there had been no decline in service but that a "wall" had been built between myself and the staff, which she claimed affected their ability to work with my child. Our BCBA expressed concern over the focus on parental issues rather than addressing my child's needs directly. Office staff member, Whitney, asked my wife about our child's sleep habits. According to the teacher, Whitney had a child in the class, was upset her child wasn't napping, and felt my child was the cause. The teacher told the Whitney our child does not nap, a topic that was discussed with staff prior to enrolling, but Whitney felt it necessary to ask my wife. I told Jamie and the other owner, Chevelle, this question wasn't appropriate for office staff to ask a parent as they are not in the classroom. They said they didn't know why she asked that and claimed that Whitney did not have a child in the class at that time. Inappropriate questions about my child's potential placement in a General Education were raised by my child's new teacher Victoria during one of the BCBA observation/training sessions for the Goddard staff. The BCBA clarified that such decisions would be based on evaluations by the public school system, not by the daycare or parents' desires. Despite these challenges, the BCBA committed to aiding the training of this teacher and ensuring expectations for my child within the school setting were clearly communicated. In my final interaction with Goddard, Jamie called me on a Tuesday night to say she was disenrolling my child, effective immediately--no discussion. She cited communication issues with the parents was the reason, however she also included a serious accusation that I "brushed" past front office worker Courtney, which I felt was implied as assaultive. This accusation, never previously mentioned, was raised right after the decision to disenroll my child, which I strongly contest as I do not recall making contact with anyone at the facility besides my child. Ultimately, without discussion, the enrollment was terminated immediately. The lack of care and effective communication, coupled with the abrupt dismissal of a child with special needs, leads me to strongly advise parents to consider other more professional, accommodating, and communicative childcare options.

The teachers and staff are incredibly loving, caring, and attentive, and they have truly made her feel special and cared for. She originally attended Stonebridge for daycare, and when it came time for Pre-K, we knew we wanted to keep her there. After receiving an education scholarship from TEFA, choosing Stonebridge for her Pre-K year was an easy decision. We actually live about 30 minutes away, but the drive is completely worth it because of the care, attention, and love Alexandria receives every day. As a grandparent, having a place where you genuinely feel that your grandchild is safe, happy, and loved means everything. We are so thankful for the teachers and staff at Stonebridge Academy and would absolutely recommend them to other families!

As in any school or establishment individual experience is going to be different, depending upon the teacher in classroom in with your child is placed. I picked my child up today only to hear her screaming at him through the door. I arrived early to pick him up. As I approached the classroom door I heard her yelling at him to go to sleep calling him a baby and telling him he needs to go to the baby room since he won't sleep. My son was crying telling her he didn't want to go to the baby room saying "I'm a big boy". This was not a stern or firm teacher voice, this was screaming and berating my son in front of his classmates during their nap time. My son should not have had to go through that, the other children in the class should not have had to hear that. As a former teacher myself this is NO WAY in which to speak to a child, especially for not napping. This "teacher" does not deserve the title and should not be working with children. Once she came to the door, her tone completely changed, she became extremely soft spoken and sweet. The hypocrisy was ridiculous. I mentioned the experience to the front staff as the director of the school was not there. They apologized.

As…read moreparents, we diligently research daycares and carefully place our children at a childcare facility where we think that they will be loved and cared for. As such, I decided to write about my child's experience because I would never want any parent to experience the pain and frustration that my husband and I experienced. Our child attended Pinnacle Montessori of Frisco from three months old until our child was 16 months. The month before we withdrew our child, we expressed our concerns to the director regarding whether they were communicating our child's medical information to every person who cared for our child, as well as our frustration regarding the fact that, for two days in a row, two different jackets were unable to be located when we picked up our child. After this complaint, our child started receiving negative behavior comments frequently. To put things into context, our child received their first negative report ever on the same day that we notified the teacher of the missing jacket (i.e., the day before our complaint). Thereafter, our child typically received several negative reports each WEEK. Our child was 15 months old at the time. We met with our child's primary teacher to discuss our concerns regarding the frequency and the nature of the negative reports. We were told that the reports weren't meant to suggest that our child was doing something bad, they were more so to let parents know how their child's day went. A few days after this meeting, the director stopped me on my way out the door after dropping my child off and informed me that if my 15-month-old child continued to receive negative reports for the next three months, then maybe my child is communicating that Montessori is not for them. I took this as a thinly-veiled threat to kick my 15-month-old child out based on frequent "negative" reports that coincidentally started occurring after my complaint. Of course, this direct contradiction regarding the intention behind the reports resulted in us having a meeting with the director and the teacher. At the meeting, the director informed my husband and me that we were "too sensitive" and that she had no reason to have a problem with our child because we pay on time each month, and the teachers have never had a problem with us. This was jarring to us because no childcare facility should differ the level of care and treatment that they provide to a child based upon the child's parents' ability to pay on time. After this meeting, things went from bad to worse. Our child came home with a diaper rash that was so severe that it required a medical prescription and for our child to stay home an entire week. We sent our child to this facility for only three more days after the diaper rash healed. On the third day, our child was sent home without a shirt on. When we asked the front desk why our child's shirt was not on our child's body, they informed us that our child spilled water on the shirt, and they didn't have a backup shirt. They did not even bother to notify us to let us know our child needed a shirt. Had they cared enough for our child to notify us, we could have immediately resolved the issue that day. Needless to say, that was our child's last day. I hope any parent of a prospective attendee finds my review helpful. For any parent whose child still attends this facility, you may want to pay close attention to how your child is being treated, especially if (i) you don't pay on time or (ii) you have ever complained to the staff/director.

The care, love, and education my kids have received has been unparalleled. Not only were my kids well prepared for grade school, but they were also equipped with the knowledge of what Jesus did for them on the cross. We will continue to use Schoolhouse for afterschool care and their wonderful Summer program for as long as they will let us! The Summer program is such a God-send, since we don't have to run all over town, carting kids to multiple week long camps. Instead, they have the consistency of care, weekly fun field trips, and time to swim in their on site pool (with life guard). Overall, we couldn't be more happy with our experience with Schoolhouse. Schoolhouse is the place for your kids to be if you love Jesus and want your child enriched by a loving and caring staff/environment!

Teachers put so much care and effort into their work and daily reports. They always have exciting and creative activities for the kids. My kids have learned so much since they started.
