Our instructor Kristen (and the blonde instructor -- forgot her name) were patient and encouraging throughout the entire class. Kristen's in depth explanation + demonstration was easy to follow as a beginner, but the instructors frequently made their rounds to work with everyone individually, giving advice and feedback. Despite the class session only being 2 hrs, I felt like I was able to focus on improving basic skills and learning new techniques. Even if you don't have any interest in pottery, I HIGHLY recommend taking a class regardless. The space is welcoming, and it was a great (and fun) way to release stress creatively :) looking forward to how my pieces come out!

It was a full class and the instructor patiently explained each step. Before you sign up, make sure to read the description carefully. There are hand-building classes and wheel throwing classes. Hand-building is hand molding and you don't work with the wheel. My one-time matcha bowl and whisk holder making class was hand-building and we don't get to decorate or glaze it. Instead, you get to pick from a selection of paint colors and their team finish glazing and fire it for you. You also need to wait about 6 weeks for it to be ready for pick up, which is standard for community pottery places. I picked the white paint with specks which I regretted. The glaze came back with some uneven spots and a dark brown mark on the outside. Since the studio glazed it for us, I was a little disappointed with the final result. Pottery definitely tests your patience and perfectionism. Not sure if pottery is for me, but I might come back for their wheel throwing class.

I do not know of any other high school that offers an early college program where they can graduate with an associate's degree. And their culinary program is simply amazing. Offering unique career pathways is what our kids need to be successful later on and I wish I had programs like this available to me when I was younger. They also partnered with Delafield Corporation, Mt San Antonio College, The Gas Company and the Chamber of Commerce to offer a welding program. This is so important that the district recognized the huge industry demands for qualified welders. Like anything...its not perfect. But no school district ever will be. It's up to parents, the school board, PTA groups and community partners to work with the school district to uncover opportunities for improvement and I, for one, am proud to work with DUSD to help ensure our children's success.

Courtesy classes may only be scheduled within a month in which your Class Membership is paid. 3. Courtesy classes are scheduled in addition to, not in place of, your regular scheduled class. 4. Courtesy classes cannot be credited toward account balances, Membership fees nor substituted for regular classes. 5. Once scheduled, a courtesy class cannot be rescheduled. If you fail to attend a scheduled Courtesy Class, that class is forfeited. For parents with busy schedules and an already limited class schedule, this policy only adds to stress of scheduling classes for your kids. Our first tutor stepped in not only during COVID but during a time my daughter was recovering from a car accident and our family suffering from 5 losses due to Covid. Gilbert Neuner was our tutor. He did not have a clue of what was personally happening to us, but he took ownership of his tutoring role and ensured my daughter understood her assignments. He was thorough in his teachings and explanations. He was also willing to provide addl help when needed. Unfortunately, Gilbert does not have availability this term, so Abby had to quickly find another Discrete Structures tutor for us. We are still in the adjustment period, and can honestly say that Abby is doing what she can to ensure that Hailie is getting the most effective tutoring method for her learning style.

In his second year, my son was diagnosed as autistic with adhd and the school was incredibly difficult to work with when we tried to get my son the support he needed. After only two months with the new kindergarten teacher, counselor and principal, we had to switch schools as the kindergarten teacher ended up threatening my son that she would call the police on him and have him taken away because he was having an autistic meltdown. I find out later that other kids were also threatened similarly and also pulled their kids from this school. These children are six years old. There is no excuse to threaten them. My son was afraid of going to school, and he went from a happy, sweet kid who loved school to depressed, anxious, had nightmares, and was terrified the police were going to send him to jail. We needed services asap but staff would stall and gaslight us about the IEP process. They would tell us they knew what they were doing and I just needed to trust them. District denied a 1:1 aide though the school was calling us to pick him up every other day because the teacher was uneducated about teaching neurodivergent children. Very frustrating. There were so many horrible issues and awful teachers and administrators mistreating my son that it traumatized him. He's doing much better in a new different supportive school now but his new teachers and staff had to work so hard to undo the damage that Wild Rose did.

I found this place on Groupon a month ago, consulted handy, dandy Yelp, and now just completed my second class yesterday. During the first class, I brought in my brand, spanking new sewing machine that was starting to collect dust. May taught the class, and one-on-one ( aka me) how to wind the thread and bobbin. When sewing, you have the needle thread on top, and the bobbin thread on bottom. I know, I know, confusing stuff... She also showed how to start, stop, and introduced features of your machine. Everyone brings their own, so get to know yours. I am proud and happy to say, I finished the first project of a drawstring bag. I dance regularly, so this will be my new shoe bag. I love that it stands out and is one-of-a-kind. Some of the events I go to range from 40, 400, or 2,000 people. It's good to have a bag that's different and stands out. Looking forward to our next class, which is choosing a pattern of our choice.
