As a date night, my husband and I took one of the pottery wheel making class and had such a great time. The instructor was super friendly and made the class fun and easy to follow. We each walked out with 2 pieces (bowls) and got to choose what color we wanted them glazed. All materials were ready within a week and they honestly look like professionals made them. Definitely will come back to do this again with some friends.

Our painted creations are ready to be fired up!

Just had a birthday event there. Liz was out instructor and she was great. She was so kind, patient and gave great instructions on technique. The girls really enjoyed there time there. 3 hours went by so fast! We will be back in a few weeks to pick up our finished creations! Plenty of parking in the front, and there is a parking lot next door. The studio as neat, clean, well organized and AC was nice and strong (it was 107F the day we went). Great place to host a team building or celebration event.

The class was scheduled for 2 hours. We ended an hour early with an end product that was a bit underwhelming. Our instructor was friendly enough, though never introduced herself nor took the time to ask the class (all 3 of us) our names. I wrote a letter to the owner and never got a response back. Highly unlikely I will return. Below is the letter I sent, including a few other underwhelming aspects to the class: "Hello! I took last evening's Macrame Weaving workshop. As I was driving back to Long Beach last evening after the class, I had some time to reflect on the workshop. I signed up for it to learn a new skill that I could potentially teach my students. (I've been an Art Teacher for many years). Unfortunately, I feel very disappointed with the class as a whole, as well as with our end result product. I believe the owner was there last evening; I regret not having pulled her aside to chat, though I wasn't quite clear on how I felt about the class until I was on my ride home. Our instructor was very friendly and I so appreciate the use of the high quality organic cotton cord. I also appreciated the hand out with the images of various knot styles. However, I don't even know what our instructor's name was. She never introduced herself or asked our names - there were only two other participants besides myself. We ended class nearly an hour early. This feels like a waste of project making and learning time. Either the project we did was too simple or our instructor wasn't thoroughly prepared. Her instruction was okay, though I don't think it is very helpful to physically do something for the student which she did a number of times. I believe it is more helpful to walk them through it verbally while allowing them to do it to experience the motions and acquire muscle memory. Craft is a great space! I wanted to share my thoughts because I think the class I took last evening could be improved upon for future students. Thank you for reading, Ivette"

We registered 5 weeks summer camp mainly in Pasadena, but it started a week after summer vacation so we had to find something for them and Thank God! Yes, it was the answer. Even my son who didn't want to go to the "Craft Class" just loved the full week. They provided all materials, snacks and games with very good price. We highly recommend people who live in local area just check this place out. They have fun things for kids and adults as well.

Went to have a painting framed, that I've had since the 90's…read more It was done by a family member and I am quite fond of it. A pretty good reproduction of an original Gauguin that happens to be in a nearby Pasadena art museum. Well, we paid a visit to Hobby Lobby, as we were picking up some things from nearby Whole Foods. The store occupies Sear's old location on Foothill. It's a huge place and designed to get you to walk around for things as signage isn't plentiful or helpful. Shelves are high so unless you are very tall you need to search around, guess they took that cue from Costco, it works if you aren't in a hurry. We were happy to find they had a framing department and also a fabric area, which, since the sad closing of JoAnne's, I was glad to see for the ghost of my mother who enjoyed sewing. I'm focusing on the Framing department and the friendly efficient gentleman in charge of that department, his name is Theo. He was helpful and friendly from the start. Their framing prices are posted as 50% off, which sounded great, but I guess the original prices need to be considered before seeing this as a good deal. Well, we checked on one style which had always been our original style we felt appropriate for this art work. We visited Tahiti a couple of years ago and and saw some Gaugain copies framed in a similar style, it works very well, so we inquired as to cost and estimated the size as we didn't have the painting with us. It was very reasonable compared to the frame shops we have checked over the decades, yes, decades! It was a very fair price, not knowing the quality of the work was something to consider, but Theo was very efficient and knew his products and was very meticulous. We could tell we were in very good hands. We were quoted, less the 50%, a little under $100 before tax. A very fair price. We were given a "finish by date", and 5 days before that date I gave a call to check on status, I was told it would be done in a couple of days. I was surprised and happy to receive a message later that day from Theo that our framing job was finished and available for pick up. We got over there that evening and Though Theo was gone then, a nice young lady got our finished product for us. It looked very nice. She walked us and the painting up to the lone cashier, as that is their policy, and we waited in line to pay. They did open another register as the line was about 6 people deep. I'm not going to get into their company politics, but over all it was a positive experience, especially thanks to Theo and his friendly, knowledgeable service and framing skill. Thanks Theo!

There's always sales at Michael's which I love as a cosplayer and someone who does some arts and crafts for some projects and gifts for others, it's a great stop. This one is slightly more out of the way for me, but there's plenty of parking and is a decently sized Michaels location. Again, with every location, you better start shopping for seasonal and holiday things around 2 months before it actually happens because the closer to the actual holiday, it'll be mostly gone and they're already stocking items for the next major season or holiday 2 months away. Maybe a month from the holiday there's turbo sale on those items. Love doing Black Friday shopping here too, crazy discounts. Definitely double check that, super cheap. This store isn't as disorganized or disheveled as some other stores can be. It can be a wait to check out though even with self check out and the staff that they have there, so keep that in mind. I sometimes get spray paint for cosplay, so you gotta ring someone to assist you, so even more of a wait.
