Invaluable service to relieve stress and muscle aches after massages did not help at all. Highly recommend!

Even though I had a great surgeon, I had significant healing complications after a full Achilles repair and was worried I might never dance or run again. I also definitely did not want to go through another surgery. Through a series of hydrodissections, Dr. Paul has helped me avoid surgery--and now I'm back to both dancing and running. What stood out most is how he showed up for me. I felt he was all in--completely dedicated to my outcome and to me as a whole person. I had a lot of fear around the situation, and after several pretty grim consultations with other doctors, he told me, "We are going to get you there--don't let anyone tell you otherwise." While he performed the first hydrodissection, he talked me through everything and kept reminding me, "I'm right here in it with you." He didn't just treat the injury--he treated me as a whole person. I especially appreciated how much he took the nervous system into account. I had done my own deep dive into meditation and nervous system work, and he was always curious and open to learning from me. He told me he's made a commitment to always learn from his patients, which really shows. He's incredibly well-connected to top medical professionals at the forefront of their fields and up to date on the latest research--in fact, he actively participates in and runs his own studies. What truly sets him apart is the combination of off-the-charts technical skill and a genuinely open-minded, compassionate approach. He's thoughtful and expansive in how he looks at treatment--drawing from a range of medical perspectives rather than sticking to a single lane. He brings a broader view that doesn't just treat the injury--it goes beyond it entirely. Also, his team is amazing--Brian, a bodyworker who incorporates a neuro-rewiring and somatic approach, and his office team, Maria, Shaiann, and Hatice. And Dr. Kentaro Onishi, another brilliant compassionate minded physician, just joined the practice. I've honestly never felt that level of warmth, support, and responsiveness from a medical office.

I was 17 and 5'7" and 130lbs and am now 21 and am not any heavier. He then also stated that my hip dysplasia wasn't serious enough to warrant any treatment at all which was extremely contradictory to his previous statement. Because of this inaccurate information I didn't know I could do the physical therapy to prevent further dysplasia and now I have to get hip surgery, not a replacement yet but surgery to prevent further damaging. To summarize he gave me conflicting diagnoses and no practical information about my condition which was if not preventable definitely able to be slowed. He also neglected to give me all of the anesthesia needed for my PRP and didn't listen when I told him I was in pain.

Prior to coming here, I was working with several therapists to rehab my arm. We couldn't figure out what the root cause is and where the pain is emanating from which was frustrating since I was quite limited in my daily activities for nearly 8 months. During my first visit, Adolfo gave me a comprehensive consult and began work on my body. Felt the positive results after my first session and the pain hasn't come back. He's also worked wonders on my sciatica, hand and foot. Not only am I in good hands with him but also with Corinne as well. She's always so nice and sweet - lovely lady who holds down the office.

I suffer from chronic lumbar pain for a number of reasons and his body work has really helped alleviate my pain .. sometimes 100% for a week+. He really takes the time to diagnose your problems, triggers, recommends exercise to build strength and accommodate injuries, and is very knowledgeable when it comes to the musical/fascia "restrictions". He also uses a flex ion distraction table which further assists release and allows him to pivot your body at different angles for easier access to tricky areas. Corinne is his receptionist out front and very friendly/accommodating. Highly recommend the team! They'll also send your bills to Insurnace monthly for you. Their building directly faces the presidio gate, bus stops and a rack of Lyft ebikes.

TLDR: If you're someone who values performance, both on a critical timeline and for the long term,…read moreVita Yee is the first person to turn to for a sports injury. If possible, reach out to her as soon as you can after an injury, because with the early days, she apparently works miracles! Longer version: I am a performing artist, and on opening night, I heard a snap in my leg: I tore the calf. The pain was intense, and worse, I had no idea what was going on, only that I couldn't get any power from that leg. It was by sheer luck that I got in touch with Vita later that night, and by the next day she was working on me. I was completely blown away by the absolute generosity with which she shares her skill. With so much kindness and care, she brought athlete-performance specificity to the physical therapy--and an understanding of dance and its concurrent demands of strength, flexibility, speed, and placement. Her knowledge of sports physiology is impressively comprehensive, and acupuncture is but one of her talents. On the first day, recognizing that this is my livelihood and that sitting around resting was not really an option, she did hands-on work to smooth the muscles, then applied kinesiology tape in a way I couldn't have figured out on my own (and neither could the internet)--the relief was instantaneous. She started me on rehabilitation exercises almost right away, taking into account exactly how the body would compensate (and how I might try to cheat the true path to recovery). For in between sessions, she taught me how to tape the leg, massage out the muscles, use compression socks, when to ice and heat, which exercises to do and how. She maintained the appropriate pace with really specific guidance, for example: Day 0: "No jumping or running, period" Day 2: "No performing that part until you can do 3 sets of 25 relevés" Day 12: "Small double leg jumps are okay, no single leg jumps yet" Just as important as the physical recovery, she helped take away the fear, which was very real. This sense of trust in both her and myself made the acupuncture as easy as going to a spa: 15 minutes of lying cozily under a heat lamp with three tiny needles, reminding the muscles how to work, and afterward feeling as satisfied as if I had been working out. Forever grateful to Vita for enabling me to be back on the stage.

Presidio Sport & Medicine came as a non-negotiable from my surgeon (he even messaged the owner during my initial appt to make sure they would fit me in)! This is a well oiled machine, despite always been very busy - everyone from the receptionists to the therapists and trainers are so patient oriented. Each session starts with an assessment of how you're doing and no two sessions are exactly the same. They tailor the treatment to meet you where you are on that day. The care that they provide is unmatched and I feel better informed and treated than I ever have at a PT place before. Even the trainers who walk you through your exercises are awesome and while PT is often uncomfy as you recover from an injury, they make the process that much better. I will have to give a new update once I am fully recovered, but until then you will find me very happily going to Presidio Sport 2x week :)
