What she likes to do is get you on medication that is to strong or is not needed and then have you walk the line of her "Program Rules". I have been profiled at her clinic because of my youthfull appearence. I have had to return to her office to have her re-write her presciptions at least 5 times in the last year. Her math is always off. I have had to correct this on a number of occasions. If you are dying from something terminal, and are very old and frail, she may be the Doctor for you. If you are middle age with auto injuries and or back/neck injuries, find another Doctor. Once I branched out and found out how these places are supposed to be ran, I found out how messed up this place really is. In my personal opinion I am suprised that the DEA has not looked up close and personal at her records. I would be shocked if they were in order. Patient Beware!!!

I originally went to doctor young because I had been in a head on collision and needed treatment on…read moremy back and neck which was a good experience. I got diagnosed with a very serious health issue and decided that I would continue my care with him as the chiropractic side of it went great. I've been going to him for this for a couple of months and now that my health issues are getting worse I've had serious issues sleeping and can only sleep for like 10-15 minutes at a time then up for hours and it is keeping me from being able to go to work because I don't have the energy as I'm not getting close to the amount of rest I need. I went to doctor young and I explained to him that I needed something to help me sleep at night because I was getting 0 to an hour of sleep a night and I needed to be able to go to work and function. He prescribes me a "natural sleep aid" and says this will help me sleep. So I spend 25+ dollars for the medicine and go home and take it as soon as I get home because I hadn't slept in 24 hours and had to miss another day of work so I figured I'd utilize the day to sleep and rest. Long story short I ended up taking about 5-6 of these pills that were supposed to help me sleep and never got tired and was up all day and all night. Insurance doesn't cover the natural medicine so all the medicine has to be paid for out of pocket. So I was very upset that I paid 25+ dollars for 30 pills I call and asked for him to prescribe me and actual medicine at the pharmacy that would actually help me get some sleep and his response was that the medicine he prescribed takes up to 6 days to start working..... 6 freakin days!!!!!! I told him from the beginning that I needed something to help me sleep that night not in 6 days. Never have I felt so upset when he knows what I've been diagnosed with and the issues I was having. Dr Young is about lining his pockets and not helping his patients. Not to mention that he is as filling out my leave paperwork and instead of putting down a realistic time frame that I'd be off work which is around two months he puts down that I'd be on leave for a year!!!! Like it was denied immediately!!! What kind of idiot is this clown. I was sitting there to answer any questions and he never asked how long my treatment would be and I assumed because he was my primary he was in touch with the other doctors but apparently not. This guy totally screwed up my paperwork on top of selling me something the wasn't helpful. I would NEVER go back to this guy. He has totally set me back and now I'm left scrambling to find a new primary care doctor and only have so many days to resubmit my paperwork. Very unprofessional to say the least!!!!!

I went to MultiCare as a kid, so it was sort of my default when I started looking for a PCM for our family, who is on Tricare Select (Active Duty Military Insurance)... we checked with a lot of other places - EVERYONE is backed up at least a few months, especially if you're establishing new patient care. 3-6 months seemed the standard wait time for an appointment. I called back in late August, and they said they had a new Doctor to the practice - Dr Shands - whose schedule was still filling up and they could see us in early November. *sigh* Ok, yes. We'll take it if that's the best we can do. 2 months and change didn't sound so bad after being quoted at least 3 months everywhere else. Yes, just give it to us. Hopefully she's nice. I am NOT SORRY for taking Dr Shands as soon as they offered it. She is absolutely wonderful. Dr Aurora Shands and her nurse Amy has seen myself and two of my children this week and she has been wonderful. I haven't felt as heard and cared for under the watch of a medical team as I did with them. I'm stoked to have such an attentive, compassionate, talented doctor as our PCM. My kids adore her. My four year old was so scared to go to the doctor but Amy and Aurora put them at ease so well! The check-in process was swift and easy! They actually mailed me my paperwork ahead of time, so all I had to do was bring in that and the records from our last doctor and pay my co-pay and we were all ready to go! We have had both afternoon and morning appointments- in both cases, the office was running smoothly and on-time. I'm also happy to say that they have a lab on-site which is awesome for me. I have an autoimmune disorder that requires quarterly blood work to manage my medication and that makes my life just a little easier, not having to drive cross-town for labs each time. Thank you Dr Shands, Amy, Brandy, and the MultiCare team for the solid and empowering healthcare experience this week! You've helped to restore a huge chunk of faith I'd begun to lose after many years of frustration with finding healthcare providers that meet us where we need. THANK YOU!!!

I was a patient of Dr. Arroyo's at Puget Sound Orthopedics in Lakewood Washington. I couldn't have…read moreasked or anything better in the doctor. He is extremely intelligent, you can tell that when he took on this education that he did it to help people from the depth of his heart. I have had surgeries from other doctors who were not able to get my shoulders secure. The surgeries done by other Dr's would still fall out of joint very easily. Dr. Arroyo was very thorough with explaining the different kind of surgeries that he was going to do on each shoulder. One was done 4 years ago and hasn't fallen out of socket I feel very secure with it. The other one he completed one year ago and I only had 75% of that bone left but he was able to take a tendon from another part of my shoulder and secure that portion of the bone that was missing from that tendon. I never thought that I could use my arms again without considering the possibilities of them falling out of socket. I am sincerely grateful for a doctor that is so caring of his patients. With this particular surgery he did only two doctors in Washington state are able to perform them. When I was in between surgeries my insurance had changed and the doctor's office didn't accept the insurance that I had. I sent Dr. Arroyo a message directly to see if there was anything that he could do because he was the on of the only doctor's that could perform this surgery. He told me since I was a previous patient that he would be able to work with the insurance company and the doctor's office to get the office to be able to accept my insurance. It was hard for me to say goodbye to him, he truly changed my life.
