When we walked in and apologized, the hairdresser (Julie) was still very standoffish and not welcoming. While asking what he wanted, she wouldn't even look at the reference photos. And when he tried to describe it she would respond with a forward tone trying to make him sound like he didn't know what he was talking about. As the professional you should be helping your client by directing them figure out what they are trying to describe to you. Not look at them like they are stupid because they don't know all your terminology to get exactly what they want. She then complained about how she had been working all day, just like everyone has to, practically guilt tripping us. Not a good look Jude's.

The apprentice barber engaged my husband in conversation, immediately. He is cool. Too bad Chris wasn't able to cut my husband's hair, he seemed like the whiz with the clippers. Cutting hair seems to be second nature to him. It's like watching Edward Scissorhand, minus the death cut scissors and clients coming out alive after a cut. ;) The back bottom fade came out nicely. Might have been cool to get an etched out part to help define it more. Would have gotten the side front faded as well, but the cut had already taken about 45 minutes, still a good cut overall. The barber chairs are retro and vintage looking, they look quite sturdy too. All look true vintage except the brown one, that one looks to be nouveau retro. I really the dresser and marble countertop by the one barber chair when you first walk in. I don't mind watching the professionals cut my hubby's hair at all, so much faster than I could ever. All of the staff are quick to get folks in and out of here. My hubby got a handful of bad cuts during covid. It sounded like alternative music until I heard this cool song S' Anazito Sti Saloniki by Dimitris Mitrapanos, can't understand it, sounds Greek and cool either way. Because I have a cowlick in the back of my head, I asked that he keep my hair a bit longer, just trimming close at the bottom. He totally ignored that request and when I mentioned it, he said it would not be a problem. He put some sort of pomade in my hair without asking. I prefer not to use heavy products in my hair. As I was in the chair, I noticed that the wax pot was filthy. Bottom line, this place is not clean, I got one of the worst haircuts I have ever had, and I will not be back.

All appointments are done via a website called StyleSeat, so you can instantly see what availability they have. These two ladies are so popular they are always booked solid, so you have to be a little lucky to get an appointment. They also don't do walk-ins because they are always so busy. Anyway - this is an old school barber shop with a pin up girl style ambiance. Since it's by appointment, it's often just you and the barber, and you can have great conversations about just about everything. As for the actual cuts - they go above and beyond to make you look good. I never look better than I do coming out of this place. As for the one star review, make an appointment and take a number. Rogue is a real barbershop and Jazz in high demand. To think you can get a walk in is ridiculous, go get your dad cut at a strip mall chop shop.

Andrew does a great job and is always a pleasure to chat with while he's cutting my hair. It looks like a lot of the bad reviews were from years ago when people had long wait times for walk-ins. Foremost has an online reservation system now which works very well, although times can book up fast, often days in advance. The price isn't the cheapest in town ($30 for a haircut, used to be $25 before inflation hit everything), but it's definitely worth if for the quality cut and strait razor edging. Highly recommended for great, consistent results and very pleasant barbers.
