I needed my windows cleaned by the end of 3 days. I found Adam on Yelp. Impressed by all the 5 star reviews I reached out. He answered right away and would try to accommodate my schedule. When he stated that he did not need to see the job or have a tally of how many windows I asked how he could come up with a bid without that information. He said to trust him and that that if I asked one more question he was going to pass because answering questions wastes his time. Am I in or out!?! The price he texted me was reasonable so I opted "In". I warned my husband not to even talk to Adam because we didn't want to slow him down or worse...have him pick up and leave. I never met "ADAM" because he was too busy to come but he sent a great crew of 4 that showed up on time, cleaned all the windows, sills, frames and screens perfectly and were very polite and conscientious and fast. They did a fantastic job. Cut to a few months later and I call for a repeat job. In a jovial manner I mentioned the fact that he must have had an "off day" when I called him the first time because he was kind of rude to me but I was willing to overlook that because his crew did such a nice job. I suppose I expected a chuckle and an apology but he proceeded to respond by saying that he had so much work he didn't need anyone who complains. Wow..I said...are you serious? "Yes" he responded. I explained that I liked the work and wanted to hire them again. He said "I'll pass. Ummm....super sensitive!....Zero sense of humor. Can't trust a person that can't laugh at themselves. He is worse than the "Soup Nazi" If were not for Adam's attitude I would have given him a five star review. I do not recommend Adam Kirk. I sent requests for an estimate through his website and never received a response. I phoned and we made an appointment for when *he* said he could come. This was quite early on a Sunday morning. I took that appointment and I changed my plans for that day. I got up and ready. He didn't show. Instead, he texted that he is "behind schedule" and "could he pick another time". Given the very early hour I suspect he overslept (wish I could have). Flaked on me. I talked to him, asked for a quote, and he asked that I text my address to him and he'd get back to me. So I did, and he texted me a quote that same day (which is why this is two stars instead of one). I texted back to confirm, and confirmed that he knew it was a two-story house, because I thought the quote was low, and I asked if he could confirm for me that he had Worker's Comp insurance before we sealed the deal. He was surprised to hear it was a two-story, said "the house I saw was a single level." Well, sorry, but it is a two-story, so maybe if all he did was drive by he should have knocked to check it out (I was home all day). He said he'd get back to me with a revised quote, which was fine because I expect to pay a fair price. Eight days later -- today -- I texted to ask about whether he was going to send me a new quote or if I should look elsewhere. He did respond immediately again (hence, two stars, not one), but said "we're pretty full; I'll have to pass." Was it because I asked about WC insurance? The process was incredibly seamless - I called Adam on a Monday, he answered all of my questions and asked me to text him my address for a free estimate. He always did a good to excellent job, and I referred him to several people and he has always been friendly and courteous. Today he was scheduled to do some work at our rental property.
