I feel that Taylor Walcott might be a good pick if you have a simple property to sell in a small…read moretown. Unfortunately, I had a complicated house to sell in Seattle. Taylor did not understand the market and worse, he botched simple repairs and did not set up the house for a sale correctly. On a repair billing he overcharged me and when I contacted the company that did the repair, they told me that Taylor lied about the bill he sent me. I am currently submitting the bill and his emails about it to the BBB and the ethics board. I think he made a mistake and then when asked, he panicked and opted to not tell the truth rather than own up to his mistake, assuming that I would not contact the company to verify what he had told me. Again, I don't think he is a thief, but he has a hard time admitting an error (he got angry at me for pointing this issue out). Taylor's skills at negotiating were not up to a large city sale standard either. I had to continue to tell him to do repair jobs better and ask for more money from the potential buyer, which I was right about and got (although not as much as I could have if Taylor had staged the opening as he said he would). He negotiated the price DOWN 10K after taking one bid from an unlicensed contractor who gave him a verbal estimate of a phantom basement issue. When I received the final closing title, Taylor had a mistake on it which would have paid him hundreds of dollars more than what we agreed on (when asked about this, he admitted that he had seen this mistake and was going to fix it- why he had not done so already was not explained). As a final insult, he used a small title company in his town in Pierce County to close a King county deal, which caused five days of delays and hundreds of dollars in extra fees for me as the signed title had to be sent via UPS. So, in all, I think he might be a nice enough guy who was over his head. Or maybe he was having an off month. I have no idea, he has refused to return my emails the minute after my house was sold. There are lots of decent brokers out there- I'd recommend going with them.

I've known Terry Mahlum for a few years now. Terry teamed up with another agent, they took over the sale and sold it within a month. Terry has worked with my wife and I when looking at different houses. Before going to any house she research and let me know if there's any issues up front. This past July 2021, I found the house for sale that I was interested in. I contacted Terry she was out of town at the time but made arrangements for us to tour the house. My wife and I were very interested and we put in a bid, which we did not win. A few weeks later Terry was contacted that the house was going back on the market in less we were still interested. Terry got a new offer put together and had it accepted within a days. Buying the house went smoothly as possible. My wife and I had decided to sell our old house. Terry reviewed the house with me, had a photographer in and staged the house. When we finally accepted an offer we had a few problems with the title company. I paid off my house 20 years ago but for some reason Wells Fargo never release the lien. Terry was on it worked as an go-between me and the title company until the close of the sale. Terry is the most professional real estate broker, her experience and knowledge is beyond reproach. He took the time to explain to me the process after acceptance of what was going to happen next and a approximate time frame of when it would happen. He continued to contact and communicate each process with me and asked if I had any questions about it. I was amazed that I was never left in the dark and if I had any questions I could call him and he always answer if not call me immediately right back ( only once did he have to call me right back lol he answered every time) to answer my questions. She was closing down an open house, but was gracious enough to allow me to walk through it as she finished. I was not interested, but I took her card and thanked her. A few days later, I called her to see if she would show me some houses. She said yes, but why wouldn't she? She does this for a living. Over the next couple of weeks, we met up three or four times to look at other houses, and then I found what I was looking for! Heather drew up the papers, and got our offer accepted! It was so exciting! We would be living there today if there hadn't been an unexpected snag that caused the deal to fall through. Heather went right back to work for me. We looked at dozens of houses over the next couple of months, and submitted offers on several properties. One day a house I liked came back on the market after an unexpected snag caused a deal to fall through. She met me there, submitted an offer that included repairs of what caused the prior deal to fall through, and got it accepted! This time, there were no snags, and we are comfortably residing in our new home! Working with Heather to buy my home was an experience I will long treasure! She has such a bubbly personality that you can't help but be happy when you're around her, but, when it comes down to business, it is her intellect and capability that make her a gem in her profession! She gets the job done! Now, I've spent a lot of this review bolstering Heather, but I don't want you to get the incorrect presumption that she is perfect. She seemed to always be ten minutes late. It never bothered me that much, but she would always apologize and offer to buy me a latte. It got to be a joke that she would call me to see if I wanted my latte when she got there, and, if so, she would be twenty minutes late! Heather never pressured me, nor did she give up on me. She got me information I wanted, and gave me information I didn't know I wanted. She knew what needed to be done, and arranged all of it. She stayed on top of the process, and dealt with all the snags that didn't cause the deal to fall through. She earned her money helping me buy a house, but she earned also something more valuable than money: my respect and admiration. It was coincidence, not fate, that we met. Still, it was a life changing event, and I feel so lucky that particular coincidence happened!
