Awful. In Washington DC they are TONS of jobs being posted in the DMV area…read more But all Robert Half Staff does is is lie and lie and lie. They do not read emails, they do not do anything unless you call and remind them 5 times in a row weeks apart. You can send an email, they do not read it - ever ! They do NOT return voice mail calls. They do not call you on the time when they say they are meeting with you. It is the constant lying that I find particularly awful. They will say they are slow - but at the same time, they are "too busy" to respond to all the applications. One lie after another. Even for basic temporary jobs they cannot fill them or keep track of anything at all. A full month will go by and positions are still posted and they don't take it off the website. And this recruiter keeps saying "to be completely transparent" which is the exact pre-cursor to another LIE. It is WASTE OF TIME. They do NOT read resumes - they DO NOT have ANY handle on candidate's experience. You have to repeat things 10 times and they still do retain any information. WASTE OF TIME. I know from another recruiter there - that they Post FAKE JOBS to attract candidates to market them to places they do not have a contract with.

If only the above incident was the end of this story. A week after I posted this review I found out…read morethat City Staff had made a copy of my Yelp review and emailed it to my former boss at the organization I temped with, in an attempt to hurt and punish me for publishing this review. I have never seen a company behave with such a clear lack of respect for their clients. Please tread with caution.

I temped AT the actual CityStaff office and then was permanently placed by them a few weeks later…read more I loved the staff there, but I will say that the staff recently was turned over completely, so that's something to keep in mind for some of the bad reviews below. I felt like they listened to my needs and were able to find me a position that really aligned to my background. I was able to fit into a needed-role at the organization up until my start date which was really helpful. While I was in the office, I was able to see the way the staff interacted with candidates. They were very professional and I could tell they truly cared about finding the right placement for each person. In reading some of the bashing below, I feel like people should keep in mind that a company isn't responsible for getting every single person their dream job. A staffing organization is working with a ton of moving parts, and the GOOD ones are only going to send a candidate to a client if they are a good match, not just because they asked nicely or because they really needed a job. If it were that easy, we'd all have our dream jobs and make a ton of money, right?! Net, net: The folks at CityStaffDC were doing a great job and I would highly recommend working with any of them.

After a successful first interview, Katie misrepresented the hiring process by providing fabricated interview dates for a second-round interview. These dates were objectively impossible, as they conflicted with a major, national conference the employers were attending - a basic industry fact she failed, or didn't care, to verify. After calling me repeatedly, without warning, at my current workplace and risking my job, she pressured me to commute a long distance in the middle of day for those interview dates that turned out to be impossible. When I made significant logistical arrangements to accommodate Katie's misrepresentations and pressure, she abruptly pivoted to a last-minute virtual request, refusing to address me by name or even specify the date. When I held the agency's leadership accountable for this amateurish and disrespectful behavior, the firm chose to ghost the process entirely. I never received an update. This has been the most unprofessional, manipulative, and deceptive experience from a recruiting agency. A perfect emblem of the transactional rot and moral bankruptcy of the contemporary hiring landscape. If you want transparency, competence, and basic respect for your candidacy and your livelihood, look elsewhere.

I heard that they were paying the ford agency a lot more than 25/ hour.

Given my desperation as a recent college graduate with zero job leads yet many bills to pay, I go for it. No response, despite multiple calls and emails to her. She emails back after a month or so and tells me the position's been filled lol. She somehow magically has another job ready, with less pay, that could also "jump-start my career." Still desperate, I go for it. Again, despite multiple calls and emails to her, absolutely zero response. The one time she calls me is the following Saturday morning at 7:00, followed by an email asking why I haven't responded and how unprofessional it is of me to not do so. The audacity of this woman, what balls she has. I was honestly baffled yet humored so I just laughed at her missed call and email for ages, then blocked her number and email. In short, let's just say she's VERY lucky this wasn't in-person. She's actually part of the reason I'll never use a recruiting/staffing agency again and why everyone I know have followed suit (most/all of whom now have phenomenal, salaried jobs after following my advice). Please use this review as a reason not to use this godforsaken place. I honestly question how these agencies are still in business.

While I appreciated the professionalism in communication, the overall experience fell short in several important ways. First, there was minimal human interaction throughout the process. At no point did anyone take the time to understand my unique career goals--whether I was repositioning myself for a new industry, returning to the workforce after a break, or targeting a specific type of role. The service felt highly templated and lacked the strategic depth I expected from a career consulting company. They did want me to submit two job opportunities, to get an understanding of the roles I wanted to apply to, but by the time YNJ completed their services, those roles are obsolete. YNJ emphasizes their move toward AI- and tech-driven solutions, but this focus seems out of sync with recent hiring trends and feedback from recruiters nationwide, who have voiced growing concerns about the authenticity and accuracy of AI-generated materials (https://www.nytimes.com/2025/06/21/business/dealbook/ai-job-applications.html?smid=url-share). Unfortunately, that disconnect was evident in the documents I received. They don't need to be experts in every field, but there's a noticeable lack of industry knowledge that makes it difficult for them to highlight critical, role-specific functions. Drafts were returned with errors--including incomplete sentences and exaggerated or unclear claims--so I had to carefully review everything to avoid misrepresenting myself. Revision times of 24-48 hours (even for minor edits) created unnecessary delays in my job search. And conversations with Tim felt rushed and surface-level; I was never fully confident that my feedback was truly understood or applied. I did call YNJ to discuss these concerns before posting this review, but they did not respond, I'm assuming it is because they already received their payment. I had roughly five different hiring managers review their work, and none were impressed. While the general template that they utilize is unique to their services and adds a splash of color amid the monotonous pile of resumes, nothing really stands out. In the end, Your Next Jump's work may serve as a basic starting point, but if you're a professional with a nontraditional background, transitioning industries, or aiming for mid-to-senior level roles, you'll likely need to invest significant time refining their drafts yourself--or seek more strategic, personalized support elsewhere.

I have never wrote a review before but feel obligated to due to my experience…read more I purchased the Job Search essential package for fixing up my resume and I have to say I am incredibly disappointed with the service. They didn't bother trying to understand my job or what career I am looking for and basically just copy and pasted my previous resume but in a different template. The very few changes they made were sentences that were incoherent, repetitive (used the same sentence several times throughout the resume), and full of typos. No amount of "unlimited back and forth between the writer" is going to salvage poor and lazy writing. You're better off saving your money and doing it yourself or passing it through ChatGPT (which I am pretty sure they are doing anyways). The 5/5 star reviews for this company are clearly purchased/bots. Christina J.'s review is spot on for the experience
