They would do everything, including maybe being late for the next appointment, to help your sick pet. They would personally call back to answer questions. Since they've sold out to a corporation, EVERYTHING I loved about it is gone. They used to have several pets they would foster if a client passed away etc. You knew they would find them good caring homes, so I asked the last vet I went to there if they would help with that if I needed them. You would have thought I asked him to be a sperm donor, he was so appalled. Of course, I felt like a prize moron. Maybe he could have just explained that they couldn't? I ended up tracking down one of their past vets, and moved to where she went. It's been years since I visited, and maybe I'm not being fair, but it was really traumatic losing the small-town feel of that place. Another casualty of COVID? The one place I really knew I could count on to care for my pets even if I couldn't.

Kathy had been taking her dogs to Dr. Ehlers for at least the last 10 years. Coincidentally, both Misty & Pixie had a grooming appointment scheduled at Ehlers Animal Care just a few hours after Kathy passed. When we called to explain what had happened, and see about rescheduling the appointment, they were incredibly compassionate. They asked if we wanted to come later that same day, and when we arrived with Misty & Pixie, the staff was visibly upset. It was only after we got there that we realized they were taking care of us after their regular business hours. Not only that, Dr. Ehlers refused to let us pay for the services. Dr. Ehlers contacted me several times after that with suggestions for different adoption organizations, and to see how Misty & Pixie were adjusting to their new surroundings with us. It was obvious why Kathy had trusted Dr. Ehlers & her wonderful staff for so many years. They genuinely care about their customers & truly love the animals they take care of. We were overwhelmed by the kindness Dr. Ehlers & everyone at Ehlers Animal Care showed us. We will forever be grateful.

Whenever there was an immediate issue they always squeezed us in and would chat with us on the phone at anytime when we had a medical question. They always took you one step at a time, not rushing every single test and X-ray out there when it wasn't necessary. Our corgi is very vocal and doesn't love being touched not on his terms and they were so understanding and patient with him. I explained to her that late in evenings are hard for me, and earlier would be better. I had a brain aneurysm and i struggled mentally when I am tired. Through private lessons at our home, Linda was able to educate, model, and practice training skills with each person in our family. She was able to observe our different levels of understanding and styles, our interactions with our puppy, Otis, and see the environment in which we live. She respectfully and supportively instructed us in specific moments of interaction and became a valuable resource for our entire family. Linda has years of experience and education, and shares her knowledge in a respectful and considerate way. Linda has accompanied us on a training journey that continues to evolve. We now have plans for Otis. We think about his needs, and consider him, completely differently than we had before working with Linda. We continue to learn, and Linda continues to be available with a genuine interest and love for what she does. In Relation with Dogs is much more that a puppy or dog training course. It is an opportunity to consider a new approach animal (and human) behavior.
