I never got a spoon or a mug. At first they put me in the most embarrasing piece of clothing which i would compare to a carpet. Extremely uncomfortable during intake. Freezing i may add. The staff was wonderful, the chef will make your food to meet your specific restrictions whether they be medical or religious in nature. Meals are always on time. Security runs a tight ship here, always dressed professionally. The medical staff here is always top notch, and there is this one male nurse with long hair and tattoos, he deserves a huge raise, always doing God's work. I witnessed one of the lovely nurses recue a baby bird. Free laundry is provided on site. I gave 3 stars instead of 5 only because their tenants at this facility are often disgruntled and kind of bring the while vibe down. Adams County Detention Facility - Jails & Prisons Near Me - Brighton, Colorado

I don't know what is going on with Adams county but to only have two phones for over 60 inmates is asking for chaos. You guys take away your third party phone carrier and don't get another one. Home wave is the worst app you could have gotten for video chat and phone. It never works it runs out of your money I've never had so many issues talking to someone in jail. I get it and that it's a jail detention center so you guys really aren't about s*** but we're paying for phone calls you know the people outside working doing what we need to do to survive yet we can't talk to the people that were paying to talk to. Considering what the establishment is, and it's main purpose... I found from a visitors point of view, that the ladies at the front desk area, were incredibly helpful and actually quite compassionate to my personal situation. My husband was picked up on a year old warrant. Totally unexpected , because we were told by his lawyer, that these charges had been dropped. If we'd have known other wise this might not have been an issue. Adams CO. Does their job. Their sole purpose in this world , is to capture and hold people who break the law. Until Court. They do that. They do it well. I mean the criminals caught and the amount of money, brought in by fining low income and homeless people, (way to keep a man down) who owe Adams county so much money, that unless they commit more crime, they'd never be able to. Don't get me started on the folks with a drug problem. If they threw them in rehab, the county would have to pay, but if you arrest em' and throw em in jail. Heck, Now their name is in the system and they will never get a decent job. When they get out, and 99.9% of the time they will have probation, and which has (guess what?) more fines! No job and still paying Adams! Have you seen the Adams county courthouse? Frankly I have been on both sides of the system at quite a variance of Colorado legal establishments . Adams has got to be one of the larger county court houses I've ever seen. They also have more than one "legal center". The one off of Sable near 120th, is just as big but no one is ever in there. So building buildings , just because they can. And Why can they? Because people like us keep committing crime, and Brighton PD is doing their job! So this is a honest review. It's a jail, it isn't about making prisoners cozy. You broke the law (well maybe you did, who knows, who cares) so your going to sit, until the D.A. Has enough time to gather enough evidence to make sure you pay! That is the job, that is the jail. So on that note... This place is doing the best job they can. The food does suck. I visited the detention center on Sunday, October 6th, around 7:30 PM to schedule a visit with my son. The customer service from the ladies working in the front was horrible. They don't greet you as you walk in and if you aren't someone with experience in jails, you have no idea what you're doing or supposed to be doing. There's no signs or instructions for visitation so I approached the women inside the glass window to see where to go and what to do to schedule a visit and one of them frustratedly handed my daughter and I a number then told us to go down the hall, fill out a slip of paper and wait for our number to be called. As if we should've known that already? We waited as instructed then once our number was called, we approached the glass window again to find one of the ladies eating her lunch at the desk and the other on the phone. My daughter approached the woman eating, who acted once again like we were a bother. She didn't say hi or how can I help you - no customer service - just grabbed the paperwork and ids then entered our information into the computer. She then said we'd have to wait another 45 minutes to visit at one of the kiosks stating we would have an visit at exactly 9:30 and to be there at exactly that time because the visit will start automatically and they can't control that or give us more time if we are late. There were 12 kiosks, however only 6 were working. WHY? If all of the kiosks would have been working, the waiting room wouldn't have been as full as it was and we wouldn't have had to wait for 2 hours before getting a visit scheduled. RIDICULOUS! The kiosks are numbered but not in a way that makes much sense...one is blank the next is marked - hard to tell which are which - another lady was on kiosk 1, the kiosk we were told to be on at 9:30 until 9:40. She got disconnected but then refused to leave the spot claiming the jail stole 5 minutes from her visit demanding she get it back. The whole situation was a shit show! It was awkward and we had to just wait until the lady finally left the kiosk. I was worried our visit would start while she was still in the way, so I approached the front window again to see what was going on and one of the women was on the phone while the other was eating her dinner. I didn't have time to wait considering it was 9:35 and supposedly our visit started at 9:30 so I approached the woman eating. I explained the situation - she cut me off mid sentence -exclaiming, "That's not kiosk 1, you aren't on the right kiosk" I went back and saw that I was at the right kiosk - don't know how she could say I'm at the wrong kiosk without even leaving her window to check- and sure enough the woman claiming she was robbed by 5 minutes gets up to finally leave and our visit begins. Horrible first experience. Hopefully next Sunday won't be so hectic!!!! Get your shit together Adams County! I am certain the employees get paid well, have good benefits etc, yet act just like DMV employees but worse. Poor attitudes, horrible customer service and act like it's pulling teeth to get an ounce of kindness or decency. If you hate your job so much, find a new one! I would gladly take yours, be more efficient and KIND, something families and friends of those in jail NEED. read more

Worst service I've ever had. Food was cold and terrible, they had the a/c on way too high, the bartender kept referring to herself as "sherrif". Whatever. She cut me off of kool-aid for no reason. I only had one. Upon leaving they insisted I still paid the bill. Will not be returning. read more
