Recently a family member has been assigned to Adapt Mental Health. The family member has anxiety and needs someone to talk to on weekends and after hours along with the during the week office appointments. We discovered there is no one to get hold of during these times. If they call the crisis line they are told to come in on Monday or call back during the office hours. No helpline to talk with people to keep a person from going into crisis. Whatever happened to talking with an at risk person. Maybe we would have less full on episodes in the community if there was someone who acted like they care after hours and not just hang up when a person reaches out for help read more

Waited two months for a visit with someone who I swear is a sadist. Behavior that was not only not helpful but actually made me feel a lot worse. Calling names, yelling, insulting, etc may be a way to determine what issues a patient might have but instead of doing that while working from a checklist on the computer, perhaps you could just ask. Options are limited in this area but they do exist. Do not go here! read more

People come to a place to get help, instead they are chastised and are treated like they are nobodies. Avoid this place there are better qualified facilities then this in the areas. Never again. read more

I am a sad person. I need help. I turned to Adapt through the Suicide Prevention Hotline. I have been assigned 2 separate counselors, neither able to be at the appointments with me regularly. First was the Chrisis Team lead, so she was often too busy, canceling last moment and no make-up appointments. (Yes I was clear on my intentions to kill myself and active self harming happening). I asked to be reassigned to a new counselor, that took over 2 months of me calling 1 or more times a week to ask if they found anyone for me, and eventually my PCP Dr who is part of their integrated medical system got them to assign me a new one. The new one was phone only, and after 3 appointments (she only could see me every other week btw) canceled same day in the AM 2x (thats a months worthnof time) through a secretary. I just received a letter stating that because I didn't show up to my appointments they are canceling me as a client. Uh, I have abandonment issues, along with a lot of other issues, have been consistently triggered while trying to get help, and now they are telling me I'm the problem? And people wonder why folks like me don't seek mental health help? Well, this is my status quo any time I try to reach out for services. Thanks Adapt, for being so adept at not helping. This is not just my experience, my lil cousin is having the same experience. Which is crazy cause my daughter is having a great experience with them, as was my husband while he used them, and my cousins GF is in luck too! I know it seems like maybe I'm too scattered to show up to my appointments, but one thing I'm good at is writing things down and showing up, it's legit one of my trigger things. So them saying I didn't show to phone appointments, when they kept canceling or leaving me waiting in the waiting room, and I'm out of my mind, ya. Super helpful. Thanks for firing me as a patient/client while also not showing up to help. read more

If you don't have mental health issues now, you certainly will if you try to become involved with Adapt Oregon. Brookings facility was recommended / referred by my PCP, and were personally contacted by them. I received the "New Patient Packet" and after filling in all of the registration and disclosure forms, making copies of the insurance cards and having everything faxed to them, I waited for 2 months to be contacted. When they finally called, they requested an in-office appointment for more signatures on more forms. Made the half hour trip just to sit and sign. At the end was told I would be contacted in a week or two with the date and time of the first actual mental health care appointment. Only had to wait 2 days for the call, but instead of setting up an appointment, they told me they would not provide any help to me whatsoever - because - I DID NOT LIVE IN OREGON. By not having any local resources, but actually having 2 medical insurances, and even the ability to pay in cash did not make one bit of difference. For these people to waste over 2 months of my time, expectations and resources for absolutely nothing is incomprehensible. They exacerbate mental health issues instead of "reducing barriers to care and increasing access to services for those who struggle with behavioral health disorders". read more
