I called the office to ask about how my Delta Dental insurance would work with their office, and…read morewas told that my check ups would be covered and that I would receive an estimate before any dental procedure letting me know how much it would be with insurance coverage. That sounded like the coverage for the dentist I had been to for the past 15 years, so I booked the appointment. The "covered" checkup ended up costing $265 out-of-pocket and the filling that was estimated at around $200 came to $664 out-of-pocket. So a total of $865 out-of-pocket instead of the $200 I was expecting. The out-of-pocket charge comes as a surprise bill in the mail after you pay the initial amount that they estimated. So I had already had the filling done before I found out that "covered" check up cost me $265 out of pocket. The excellent dentist that I went to for the past 15 years was always very up front about cost and did not do business this way. This is absolutely disgusting.

I did NOT Agree to DOUBLE what I previously agreed to pay which was $900+ out of pocket. There was NO SINAGE or CONTRACT before I went back to have the work done to "prepare the tooth for a Crown" that I would be charged almost $1660 and left with a temporary crown which has broken and this office refuses to work with me. My Insurance company has been trying to work with them too as they are involved in a Grievance I have filed. All the while this office keeps sending me appointment reminders which is extremely "tone deaf" at best. I NEVER Agreed to this amount, I was NEVER told the Amount was going to Double and Allison has been nothing but Impossible to work with. She is Rude, Condescending, talks over me and now I question if the Dentists are also in on this "scam" as far as I'm concerned as now they are threatening my Credit score with getting their debt collectors after me all the while I DO NOT have the Permanent Crown Created from their lab or in my MOUTH!!! How is this even Legal??!! Charging me for something I don't even have in my Mouth that was NEVER even created as I never went to their lab to have my Crown color match! I have never been so Furious with a Dentist and the poor quality of customer service and the fact that they say they have 5 Star Concierge type service is laughable! Now I know how they can afford that one leather seat with the back massager in it that I never got to use as a dentist chair! Just was shown it on the initial walk through! In my opinion, likely People roped in like me likely paid for that as a bait and switch! I would NOT recommend this dentist office as apparently they are ALL okay with this as NOBODY is helping me. Not Dr. Nelida Garcia, not Dr.. Jeffrey R. Demartino, Not their office Manager "Minerva" and certainly not the receptionist "Allison." ZERO Stars as I prepare to battle this with my insurance company and Lawyer Husband if I have to. I don't appreciate being ripped off, lied to, ignored or in my Opinion SCAMMED!!!! Unfortunately, my own experience didn't live up to that reputation. As a transplant recipient, I called to schedule an appointment and was prepared to pay entirely out of pocket. I was upfront about my health history immediately and shared that I did not believe I would need surgery or drastic intervention but wanted to take preventive steps to take care of some issues that had come up. Then, after giving the office access to my records I was told my case wouldn't be taken on specifically because of my complex medical history. I understand every provider has the right to decide which cases fall within their comfort zone, but it was disheartening to be turned away specifically because of health circumstances that led to needing periodontal care in the first place? I'd have appreciated more transparency about what specifically made my case a concern, being told upfront when I disclosed my health history that Dr. Astolfi does not work with patients who have complex medical conditions, or even a referral to someone equipped to treat patients like myself. Patients navigating complex medical situations are often the ones who most need to find a provider willing to work with them, not around them.
