The set-up…read moreis so cool, with intercom systems in the helmets, so the instructors can give you step-by-step instructions and tips while you're on the water. Of all the water sports I've tried and taught others to do, this one was the easiest to get the basic skills down. Each one of us were standing on the board within the first 5 minutes. Now, mastering getting up on the foil and maintaining balance took quite a bit longer, which is why I came back the next day. By the end of the second day session, with no further instruction and on a smaller board, I could jump right up on the board and smoothly get up on the foil, stay there a bit and then control it back down without crashing (most of the time). I'm saying all this to give everyone the idea that YOU CAN DO IT! We had 8 of us over 2 days sharing 2 boards (don't worry, you need breaks anyways every 20-30 minutes when you're learning). Some of us tired out quicker, but every one of us gained a comfort with getting up on the board, getting up on the foil and then back down. It's so amazing! It feels like flying when you get up on the foil!

Took an Adobe Lightroom class with Brad Polt-Jones last night. It was just 2 of us - a friend and…read moremyself. We were lucky in that he added the class late, and no one else had signed up for the class. One teacher to two students is probably not the norm... Brad is great - he really knows the product, has lots of patience, uses top of the line equipment (iMacs), was methodical, & organized. I got a good overview on using Lightroom and feel a lot more comfortable using it for my amateur photography stuff. I plan to take Brad's RAW workshop in the future as well. Thanks Brad!

He made it very easy to follow and had no problems slowing down the class if there were questions. He went over the basics and that's all that I wanted to know. It was only a one day commitment vs a series of classes. The class was very hands on and he knew every camera that everyone brought. He made it practical and his demos were great. I am very excited to go out and shoot pictures and perhaps take another class to take the pictures to the next level.

It had been years since we've been here and it still doesn't disappoint like 7 years later!…read more $7.50 adult day admission, $6.50 for kids. Just $20 for an all day pass and access to classes, rock walk, indoor water park with slides and lap pools, splash pad outside... really great facility. We brought our own towels because it's a $1 rental and we had some in our car (a summer staple!). Best part was no sunscreen! Coming from Arizona and staying at Purgatory for the week to enjoy cooler weather, the no sunscreen part is pretty exciting. My kids rave about this place (now 11 and 13 years old). The rock wall is no joke, either! Unlimited access during open hours (special hours for rock wall, but generally closed after 4pm). Kayaks in the pool at 6pm on Wednesdays for a $5 rental? What is the Colorado? Super cool way to learn!
