My original review still stands. I've been getting take out from Addis the last few months and it's amazing and hits the spot every time. I call in advance and place my order. My go to is the vegetarian platter and it's a huge portion served with 2 injera breads (think chewy sour pancakes) The pickup order is boxed well and makes it easy to enjoy at home. Huge serving too. I can usually get 2 meals out of it and is a great value for around $15. If you're apprehensive about dining in, do try the take out!

Food was AMAZING and service was SO fast and friendly! I usually go to another Ethiopian restaurant in Columbus, but decided to try Addis and boy am I glad I did!!! I will be back! The restaurant could use a deep clean (walls, doors and vents), but other than that, it's fantastic!!

A year after finding this place and I still get takeout when I'm in town. The staff are so friendly and the food is awesome. I prefer a more sour injera and this place has the best. I always get the veggie plate and chicken tibs--dinner and lunch the next day. Take out is by phone. They do have a small parking lot on the side of their building and it's almost always full.

A lovely restaurant with delicious food and extremely friendly staff! The injera was so soft and moist; I just wanted to curl up into it like a blanket. Or maybe a pillow! Or maybe!! One injera rolled up as a pillow and the other unfurled as a blanket??? Thoughts?? I've never had Ethiopian meat dishes before but the kitfo blew me away. The beef was tender and flavorful, pairing well with the cottage cheese and the dry spice on the side. Tbh the idea of meat + cottage cheese confused me at first but it's actually so brilliant. In hindsight, the health hoes on tiktok are all over that these days. My favorite stew of the veggie lover's was for sure the yellow split peas but the red lentils were a close second (sheeeeesh). Several of the stews were a tad spicy so be forewarned :o Order a mango drink full of fruity frefreshing to feel better. I wish I had included pictures of the menu because prices have risen a few dollars since the menu pics I saw last year but I think it's fair because the portions here are so generous. You could easily split one dish between two people. Or you could get two dishes to share and have plenty for another day ! My tippy is to reheat leftovers with a damp paper towel to kinda steam the injera. If possible, would recommend eating in the restaurant though! The ambiance is neat and I liked the smell of the incense :)

Addis continues to impress. It's been seven years since I first came here and the quality has remained consistent and outstanding. Most of their selections are excellent but my favorite has been their doro wot. The flavors are deep and scintillating. The only slight negative is that the doro wot is extremely rich and heavy. The injera is also excellent and their portions are more than generous. I would recommend going with a large group so you can try all types of different flavors. The ambiance is basic but the service is always friendly and efficient -- the owner often comes out and jokes with you. If you like Ethiopian food or want to try it out check this place out -- I think this is the best one in Columbus.

The food is tremendous!!! Love eating with my fingers! The service was fantastic, food came out very quickly! It is a small seating area but felt very homey. Easy to get to. A must try!

I visited on a Wednesday around 7pm. The street the restaurant is on was really dark so I could not tell but I think there are about 10 designated parking spots right outside. The inside is simple yet clean with many pictures on the wall. The service was fast and friendly (there were 2 other customers plus a few came in for a takeout). My friend and I shared Addis Special and a side of plain rice. My favorite were the spinach, beets, cabbage and the rice, though everything was good. I particularly loved the rice. It was light and fluffy, buttery with a hint of spice. I could eat a bucket of it! The staff was super friendly and happy to help but also left us alone so we didn't feel rushed. I would absolutely go back again!

My family and I came from church to try out this restaurant, we are East African so we are familiar with traditional Ethiopian dishes. This is hands down the best Ethiopian food I've ever eaten. The injera was so good, normally injera is very sour. But this injera tasted perfect. If you haven't yet tried Addis, you're missing out..

First time trying Ethiopian food. Not going to lie, surprised there were veggie options. Called for pick up. Limited parking out front. Ordered the following: Chicken tibs. Zillzill (rib beef) tibs. Veggie lovers. All three orders came with a side of salad with their respective proteins wrapped inside a large injera. There was another large, neatly wrapped injera on top. I couldn't even finished the second injera. Hot sauce had a dry heat to it. If I was going to try again, I would highly recommend dining in as the sauces made the jnjera soggy after a 20 minute drive. I feel the presentation would have been so much more appealing without having the physical constraint of a takeout box. Other veggie options include shiro wot and another veggie dish, I can't remember if it was doro wot or the fir fir.

This is such a great place in cbus. If you are looking for Ethiopian food, this is your place to go. The food is incredible and affordable. The people who work in the restaurant are very nice as well. Overall eating here is a great experience, even if you are a vegetarian! I highly recommended checking out the food here!

Great food! The lamb was spiced perfectly, and the portions met expectations for a take out/…read moredelivery order. I *almost* feel like I bought too much in anticipation that the entree wouldn't be enough for my family of three-- but we're more than content with the amount of food. The side shiro and yellow lentils were good for my toddler as they weren't as "hot" (my 18 month doesn't say spicy yet). The amount of injera that came with the Lamb entree and the side shrio was wooo perfect, because we love injera. It's best described by me - an outsider- as like an Ethiopian sourdough tortilla!?! So good, spongey and clings to every delicious flavor of anything it touches. The only thing I'd suggest they add/offer/fix-- greek yogurt or anything similar in the Ethiopian culture to help lil people/young eaters cool their mouths, luckily I had some greek yogurt in the house to help my lil girl lol because she was not ready for the handful of Jalapeno'd Lamb she grabbed . Perfect meal though! MmMm can't wait to see how any left overs reheat and that'll definitely get added to the review, because who doesn't love big portions that leave delicious left overs ?! The service was quick and on point too-- I ordered at about 4pm-- and I live on the opposite side of town-- food arrived hot and well packaged by 4:23pm. I noticed I had a missed call from tbe restaraunt, they'd ran out of my drink and wanted to offer a replacement (good and quick work to their front of house lady). They weren't messing around, attention to detail -- check , polite and respectful -- check , quick and accurate order+ seamless deliver with Grub Hub -- check!!! Definitely will be ordering again! A previous yelper who reviewed said if you like Lalibela you'll like this place, as a long time fan of Lalibela, I agree! Part of how I how I found Zara was that I couldn't order Lalibela on Grubhub.

My very first meal on moving to Ohio!…read more On my way from the airport to the hotel, I was hankering for some good food. Good ol' Yelp popped up Foodateria on my route, and I am so glad it did. The restaurant had a warm ambiance with earthy tones as you walk in. Nothing to write home about with standard tables and chair but one is here for the fare! The gentleman who runs the restaurant kindly suggested the Yetty's Egusi. In my opinion it was the perfect surf and turf (or should I say surf and fluff?) dish. This was a delicious stew with both fish and chicken in it. The stew of spinach (or was that kale?) and melon seeds in palm oil initially left me a little confused wondering if it was ricotta cheese, scrambled eggs, or fish roe. The Chicken drumstick and the fish morsel were deep fried separately then added to the stew later before serving. The chicken was really good with a teeny crust from the frying, and moist and juicy inside, but I have got to hand it to the fish. It was moist, flaky, flavourful, and reminded me of all the river fish I grew up eating. Upon mentioning to the gentleman that I was intrigued by the Fufu, he let me order it as a side (it's not usually served with the Egusi). It was super soft, starchy, with no need to masticate. Had you come here with your gummy teeth, having left your dentures at home, you would have absolutely no problems downing this dish. Had on its own it reminds one of a smooth and creamy mashed potatoes. I enjoyed pinching out tiny morsels of it, dunk it in the sauce, and just let is slide down my chute. PS: I read that it is considered ill-mannered to chew the fufu. One usually swallows the morsel without any chewing. And I can see why. Just crush it up with your tongue against the roof of your mouth to extract its mild flavour and enjoy the creamy texture, and off it goes! It's been a while, and I really need to go back again!
