When I was finished he wanted $50 for the cut and trim. I was surprised by the amount since the shop wasn't downtown.

At this time, an appointment is required and is easy to schedule on his website. The cost is $25, which you can use a credit card for, except for the tip (cash). Omar was born in Cuba. About 20 years ago, he "boarded" a raft with 5 other Cubans. They made it close to the Florida keys when they were picked up by the US Coast Guard. He had many interesting things to say about Cuba and is happy to answer any questions you may have. If you have never met anyone who came to the US aboard a raft, it's an experience. As for the haircut itself, it was just as good - if not better - than what I get from my regular barber back home. I will be sure to pay Omar a visit during future stays in KW.

They said it was because my hair was long and there was an upcharge for shampoo and hair dry. My hair is hardly past my shoulders. The appointment took 20-30 minutes in all. I asked for a ~1 inch trim with long layers. I ended up with hair 2-3 inches shorter, no layers, and it is uneven from one side to the other. The prices are falsely advertised and I was never informed about up charges, and the staff basically shrugged when I showed them the price on my appointment booking screen. Shampoo, wash, and dry costs significantly less than this at salons that are far nicer and will give you an even haircut. Save your money and hair and get a haircut elsewhere.

People complain about how the other nail place in Key Plaza is really bad, and this place is so…read moremuch better, but it really isn't. Every single manicure I've gotten they've just cut and scraped so far down into my cuticles, that I bleed, even when I've asked them not to do any trimming or using the cutting things. Yes I have had some nice looking outcomes of my manicures and pedicures , but I always end up with sore spots that are swollen and bleed, and sometimes get infected. So not sure that I can really recommend this place. Also, it's very expensive. And they only have two people on staff right now so you have to wait a couple of weeks to get an appointment which is kind of crazy if you're getting a fill because really should be coming in every three weeks or so.
