So you're thinking about buying a gun? You're not all that familar with guns but you'd like to be. If this is the case you should head over to Addisons. They have a large selection of guns, new and used at great prices. The staff is always ready and willing to answer your questions, but that isn't the best thing addisons has to offer. You can sign up for their classes. There is a fee and you must have a drivers license or state issued id. The class I took was the Basic Pistol Handling and Gun Safety Course. It's the class you must take before applying for your concealled permit. You can take the class for gun saftey alone, it's a stand alone class, you don't have to apply for the permit if you don't want to. The Instructor, John Lassiter, is phenominal. He's a great teacher, but he's also very entertaining to listen too. I had fun learning about guns and gun safety. I would encourage anyone with a gun in their home to take his class. The class will take about 4 hours, with a break inbetween. You get to handle different types of pistols and semi automatics and after the class you will shoot a pistol at a target to pass the class using all the knowledge you have gained during the 4 hours. It was a fun experience and I no longer feel uncomfortable around a gun because I know how to handle one and be safe with it. read more

A great shop, not a chain or corporate atmosphere, but friendly, old school customer service. Excellent selection of firearms at fair prices and all things gun related: ammo of course, gun cases, holsters, optics, gun safes, cleaning accessories, and more. Knowledgeable staff willing to take time to talk. Unlike some other local shops, they don't have an issue if you want to buy from a well known online seller and have the firearm shipped to their store (for which they charge a flat fee). For me, that kind of customer-friendly outlook means I will return there for my gun and ammo needs. Their gunsmith is good. He squared away a handgun for me on my first visit. They have a small handgun range, it's not bad, but they need to step up their game in that department. They have a rudimentary pulley system for the targets, essentially like a clothesline. The day I visited the rope in my lane had knot in it and moving the pulley with the knotted rope was a bit problematic. 1 star short because they at least need to have more than a clothesline to move targets back and forth on the range. My Father-in-law and I visited Addison's again this week and as always they provided Us with first class service, the sale's person showed and demonstrated a wide selection to Dad, well over a dozen hand guns came out of the case until they found him the perfect one. Dad was amazed at the young man's knowledge and the cost of his selection and I was astonished with the sales mans patents because Dad asked question after question until he was happy with the gun that was just right for him. Later Dad told me that he thought he saw the same gun in a shop near his summer residence that cost almost $100 more. Addison's is the perfect place to go if you want to find that best gun for you at a great price while gaining knowledge before making your informed choice! This is one of the only mom and pop shops that is in my area when it comes to firearms. I absolutely love it. I have been there multiple times. I have shot multiple different firearms. I bought my first A.R. 15 there. The staff are very friendly and a couple of them are even veterans. read more

Good prices on firearms ( list price is good in this day but they are below). Helpful staff and nice selection. The gunsmith is way overbooked! I had the best time during my concealed carry class with John, and also love going to the store. I have a firearm and had some issues with my slider lock, they were able to take me in and do the service on my firearm right there and only charged me ten dollars. Everyone is very well trained and have experience in the industry, the other day an U.S. Army soldier who also works there gave me a very well detailed explanation on some questions I had about rifles. My review is basically going to be a condensed version of Libby W's, who did a tremendous job and got many useful votes from Yelpers I took a gun safety class and found John Lassiter to be a top-drawer instructor also. He's great in the classroom......lot of anecdotes and stories. But he really shines on the gun range. His first concern is to make sure that everyone understands how to safely use a firearm. He quickly recognizes what level each of his students is at and tailors his instruction to fit their need with safety ALWAYS his top priority. The staff inside the shop is friendly and extremely knowledgeable. They will help you select the right gun to fit your needs. There's one thing I don't understand, however, and that is why this facility doesn't open a public gun range. The first question I had when I went in the store was whether they had a gun range. That was the first question the guy standing next to me had. Both times I've been there, several phone calls came in and the staffer said to the caller, "No, not a public gun range". The nearest public gun range is at least 18 miles away. Maybe it's a liability issue, I don't know. But it seems like they ignoring a huge, untapped profit center, because the demand in Osceola County is definitely there. read more

Found this fabulous gun shop today by absolute chance while driving in the area. The showroom was well stocked and with plenty of choice. A few things really impressed me, not least the friendly welcome. Also the advice seemed very fair. I'm no expert but have a reasonable knowledge, but my uk accent always lets me test if a gun dealer is trying to take advantage of me as a tourist. I was impressed by the advice in actually spending less than more. A rare experience in the marketplace. I was also pleased to see ammo at good rates. My husband and I just took their concealed weapon course last Saturday. While my husband was very proficient, I was not. Without the extra time, help and encouragement of the instructor, John Lassiter, I know I would not have passed the course. He spent as much time with me as was needed to get me to the point where I could handle the gun and pass the course. Not too many people would do that.
