Having recently taken a CCW class and being told there was a general shortage nationwide on handguns, I wasn't expecting much from The Armories. Boy, was I in for a pleasant surprise! I walked in and was immediately greeted by Ariel. I explained what I was looking for, and not only did she have one of the guns I was considering -- she had FOUR! In stock. Just like that. Well, I explained that I didn't want to purchase one without firing it first and she quickly replied "By all means! I recommend...." and gave us the name of a range we'd already planned on visiting. Fast forward to later that same day. My time at the range helped me decide which gun I wanted, but now my husband was getting the fever too (not hard to do since he's retired Army). We headed back to The Armories and found a much busier store. Ariel was busy, but our wait to be helped was short and then Bebo waved us over. Okay -- at this point, someone upstairs (God? Angels? Lucky spirits? All three?) was reeeeeally looking out for us because after getting me sorted super fast with my gun, by husband asked Bebo "What parts to you have in stock to make an AR-15?" Bobo's eyes lit up like a kid's on Christmas morning -- it just so happened they received a big shipment after our morning visit to them -- and with that my husband was off to the races! Bebo spent at least the next half hour stepping my husband through options, many of which he recommended based on his own personal weapons assembly experience. Other guys would listen in on the convo and chip in with their two cents. It was really fun and a fantastic experience. If the salespeople weren't amazing enough, here's another reason to feel good about shopping there -- they don't work on commission, so you can rest assured you're not being recommended something just so they can make a quick buck or they have extra product on hand. No...we felt super good about our experience there and look forward to returning to pick up our goodies after the background check! I've stopped by the store on several occasions after moving down to Florida for my work. The first visit was to take a look at what was in store and the variety of firearms that the store carried. The store was very neat, clean and well stocked with a variety of parts, gear, and firearms. I subsequently utilized L&R for an FFL transfer, they gave me a call to inform me that my shipment arrived and the rest of the process was smooth; Note: If you're purchasing a pistol, Florida law requires that the dealer hold on to your firearm for 3 business days before it is released to you. I picked up my very first long-gun from this store. Great deal and purchase; the guys there were always willing to work with me on the price of firearms even if I didn't buy from them immediately. Friendly group and always eagered to help. If I ever had any questions about what they had in stock and not readily able to head down to the store, I just rang them during business hours and they were able to answer them immediately. read more

I usually love this place and have purchased a few guns in store with no issues, but I made the mistake of ordering a gun online. Today is day 11 since I ordered the gun and not one person has called me to explain why it's taking so long. I call the store asking for details and the clerk/manager act like I'm bothering them (manager Steve actually asked me what I would like him to do about it). I recommend this store if you are purchasing at the location, but I will be avoiding the online ordering moving forward. Day 11 still no gun/ I will update when I finally receive my purchased gun. Update Day 12 gun came in. Sales rep and manager made everything right. They gave me a discount on another purchase, and were very pleasant to speak to inside the store. read more

It's a pretty small store, but they do have a lot of weapons and parts to choose from. They seem to have a large gunsmithing shop here, but I have yet to use it, so I am unable to rate that part, but it looked busy. There was a little bit of that "Gun testosterone" attitude from the staff, but I think that would fade after they get to know you. I had a bad experience with this place, they only pay attention to you until they get your money, afterwards you are on your own. They do not know what customer courtesy calls are about!!! again I point out, once they get your money they don't seem to care about customer service. Visited the place several times and I got the impression that they have the cocky/arrogant attitude syndrome, reason why is how I witnessed they would respond to other customers questions. Last time I will purchase from any gun shop, especially this one in particular. Unfortunately I was recommended this place to buy my first handgun and get my ccp. Brought my brother with me so he could do the same. We paid what I found out was a bit high for the gun as other shops have it cheaper. After returning 5 days later to pick up the guns, found out they didn't even do the background checks. They left our personal information in a folder under the counter for almost a week. One of the employees said he could do it right now and had us wait. This was a ploy to try to sell us other guns while we waited, and it almost worked. Turns out because my brother had a common name, he had a 3 day hold, (which would have been over if they did the check when they were supposed to). So I thought at least I'm going home with my gun, right???? NO! Turns out they forgot to put both of our guns in the safe after we purchased them, so they were put back on the case and SOLD to someone else. Nice, huh? OK, so I was apologized to, then given a box of $20 ammo as an apology...(Not that I could use them without a gun). Later my brother got a call from the manager Justin and told that if he wanted a refund for his gun, he would have to pay a restocking fee of 20%..... So I lose $100 because I'm tired of dealing with bad service? YOU SOLD MY GUN TO SOMEONE ELSE, AND DON'T HAVE ANOTHER ONE IN THE STORE!!!!!!!!! So we were left to wait a few more days and pick up the guns that were shipped from another store, wish I could say this was the end..... Along with the guns, we also paid for the concealed carry class. We drove to the location in Winter Park to do the class to find out our names weren't on the list. Thank God we had our receipts with us. The class was $100, when I found out everywhere else it's $75. Even the instructors in winter park weren't surprised about the Kissimmee mistakes. So just to add additional reasons not to go there. I found out there was a great rebate on the gun I purchased. All I had to do was take a photo of the receipt and upload it to the website and bang, I get $180 worth of loot. Not that that was told to me by the (Great) personnel at the Armories. I plan on buying more guns and shooting a great deal, just not here. I heard Addison's gun shop on 17/92 is better, and they have a shooting game range there too. Besides being knowledgeable & courteous, they located a hard to find firearm I wanted to purchase. I had contacted dealers from Ocala to Orlando and The Armories were the only one willing to take my information and contact me if they were able to find the weapon. Weapons here are ridiculously overpriced which is why all the tags are flipped upside down to not to scare you. Felt like I walked onto a small time car lot with rookie salesmen. Even had a guy try to sell me a rifle (.22lr) for $300+tax!! I was able to find the very same rifle only for $160-$200. Definitely a waste of time for seasoned gun owners. read more

I live not to far from here so I decided to use them for my transfers and what not. Before I left to go overseas I informed the GM that I would be using them for a few transfers of weapons and that they would be sitting there for a little while before I could pick them up. I ordered my first gun, and made 3 attempts to call and 3 attempts to email them for the FFL transfer. No calls were returned, no emails were returned. I get a hold of Justin, who finally helps me get the FFL sent to the gun shop for the transfer. 3 days go by, he never sends the FFL copy, never gets in contact with the other gun shop. I call the seller I went through and he contacts them directly, since im still overseas, he is told they will send it over right away. 2 more days goes by and nothing is sent. My wife, finally drives down to talk to someone and I finally get an email from the man my wife spoke with. He gets everything sorted and the rifle finally ships. Altogether it took almost 2 weeks of emailing and calling to get them to send a copy of their FFL, and this is after I have spoke to Justin 2 other times, with him confirming that he would send it. Once the rifle shipped, and arrived, I had my wife call in to make sure it was there, we are then told that they do not have the rifle..... So we get in contact with USPS and the seller who provided me with the tracking number. The item was delivered and signed for, they just didn't know where it was or what it was. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GOING TO ANOTHER DEALER I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GOING TO ANOTHER DEALER I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GOING TO ANOTHER DEALER It just seems there is an overall lack of management and follow through in many areas with no one person really tracking anything. I just got back from the Kissimmee store and must say that once again I am a happy camper. I had initially purchased my firearm (FN FNX 45 Tactical) back on June 6, 2020. There were some issues with my background check due to some trouble I got into 45 years ago when I was 16 and growing up in New York State. It took 2 1/2 months for my background check to come back approved. Gotta love New York (sarcasm). When it came back I went to the store to pick up my firearm only to find out that store policy is that after 30 days, the item is put back in stock, and mine was, and it was sold. Obviously that wasn't what I wanted to hear after waiting 2 1/2 months so I was a little peeved. It really wasn't your guys fault, I understand store policy, it was just a culmination of things. I was told I could have the next one that came in but they could not give me a definitive date as to when it would be there. I took a couple of days to chill out and calm down and decided I didn't want to wait, especially since we didn't know when it would be here. So I went back to the store this morning to explore my options. Steve Miller was there, he was the gentleman who we made our initial purchase from. We talked for awhile about my options. I told him my thinking which encompassed several different possibilities. As always, Steve was patient, professional, and provided a wealth of information. Since my wife already has a handgun, and I was jonesing for an AR platform at some point, I ended up choosing the Springfield Armory Saint pistol chambered in .300 BLK with a Sig Sauer Romeo5 red dot sight. Just a beautiful beautiful platform and I can assure you that I am one happy dude right now and glad that I went with this rather than waiting for the FN. This was my first time ever buying a firearm. I had gotten my CWP a few months ago and I had been researching which gun would bear suit my needs. I decided on the Glock 43 since that is the smallest 9mm and the quality was very good. I called around to some places in the area asking for availability and prices. This was the best price I found and they had many in stock. I went in and found Steve who had helped me over the phone. He was amazing. He showed me the proper way to load, disassemble for cleaning and many other tidbits for a first time owner. He was patient and thorough. I never felt rushed or stupid. He went through the different ammo available and helped me decide on what was best for my needs, not theirs. I walked out with so much more knowledge then when I walked in. Was in town for my uncles' memorial and was being sent home with 3 guns. I am not a gun person but my husband is. I had no idea what they were, if they were loaded or how to transport them legally in my checked luggage. The staff spent the time with me to inspect the guns, told me my options on how to get them home and helped me by readying them to be inspected at the airport by opening chambers, etc that I would not have known how to do. I checked in the next morning at the airport following the directions they told me (and the ones from the airline's website, which were the same) and did not have any incident or delay getting checked in. I was not there to make a large purchase and they knew I was from out of town and most likely would never be at their shop again but they treated me just as they would if I was there to spend a lot of money in their store.
