Particularly since I don't particularly like having my photograph taken. I know Megan from six months or so ago when my firm got the bright idea of redoing all our professional photography. "Candid photos", as if a photographer stalking you from six feet away with a huge telephoto lens while you attempt to get work done results in a more "natural" photograph of you. That being said, Megan is the kind of photographer you want if you have to put up with that sort of thing. She's friendly, down-to-earth, cheery and affable, and has a way of putting you at ease and getting you to relax. I'm sure she would be great with those of you who actually want your photograph taken, as well. Oh yeah, she was also the lead photographer for the recent bicentennial book on Columbus, "Revealed: Columbus". I gave Rebekah a call (actually, I sent her bf a Facebook message), and she was happy to help me! Before the event, Rebekah asked for my expectations and the types of shots I wanted. We talked through the two events she was photographing, and we both felt good about them. She showed up early for the event and quietly got to work capturing some amazing shots of the event. Then, she left the first event in Dublin and traveled to the second one in Grandview. She beat me there and got right to work. I just opened my photos from the events, and they are spectacular. I know Rebekah's Facebook and website don't boast a lot about her event photography, but I think that's where she shines. She really captured the spirit and the joy in both events, and the photos will be fantastic marketing tools for me and the businesses featured. A friend wanted to celebrate her birthday here taking ridiculous photos with friends after not…read morebeing with groups of people for the first few years of the Coronavirus pandemic. Not enough people RSVP'd for an actual party that night so we all bought our own tickets (adult tickets are $15 Thursdays, $25 other days) and met up there. Street parking is available but watch for signs to make sure you aren't parking somewhere that needs a pass. If you can't parallel park, maybe have someone drive who is comfortable doing it. In total, 10 people showed up including a child in a wheelchair. Our tickets were for an hour but I believe we took about 2 hours; there were maybe 4 other people we saw during that time so the owner didn't rush us out. The business has around a dozen themes and several walls with fun graphics and lights. It was easy to start our way in the back and work towards the front. Or you could start on the left or right and work your way around the U shape. It was a really fun way for us to be silly, take photos, and make good memories.
