But I chipped a front tooth and had to get it fixed. So after browsing the net and ringing around I found this one. Their prices were ok and they were the only one that could get in me in before the weekend (it was only Tuesday when I rang). The dentist I saw was fantastic. I explained my massive phobias and asked he just fix what I wanted and he did exactly as I had asked. I didn't have to endure lots of bull about my other teeth or petty conversation with either people in the room, nor did he converse with the dental assistance in front of me unless it was related to what he was doing. All in all he just did the job required. And pretty quickly for a dentist, I was out within and hour from arrival, which including waiting before I even got in to the dentist. The fix itself was very fast. Their service was so good that I would definitely go back here again if I absolutely have to go to the dentist. I am very particular on dentists and this one ticked all my boxes. Not the previous one I tried which I ran out of in tears and never made another appointment.

The practice only has two female dentists and is centrally located in Prospect. When I first went in, the girl at reception was very lovely and told me to take a set before the dental assistant would come for me. The waiting room was plentiful with magazines and a television. When I went in turns out the receptionist was the dentist and I immediately felt at ease with her friendly demeanour. She explained everything clearly as she was doing it and then explained subsequent treatment I might need and asked my permission before undertaking any treatment that day. For those who aren't the biggest fan of the dentist this would be a really great option.

He was even able to do the extraction on the same day! I had to decline though as I needed to be mentally prepared and would come back another day to do so. What impressed me the most was a poster of Santorini on the ceiling, rest assured all your worries and dentist woes will go away when you medidate on this 'paper scenery' ;-) The staff are friendly and very helpful. I first made an appointment here after the appeal of no gap payment on a clean and check up for anyone with health insurance. This makes the place incredible popular and insanely busy, but they still great everyone with a smile and take it all in their stride. My favourite staff member is my hygienist, Abraham, a wonderfully friendly man who is checks in with me every few minutes to make sure I'm okay and tell me how good a patient I am (although, I'm sure he says it to all his patients). The room has a wall of plants at your feet providing a pleasant outlook and there's an adjustable tv to can position overhead to distract you from having a bunch of tools and fingers in your mouth. You can't hear anything over the machines, but then it's fun to guess what they're saying on never-ending soaps such as Days of our Lives. I've just booked in for my January 2012 clean and my son's first dentist visit. I'll review again then as to how they cater for children.

After 5 years. The previous visit not having even been conducted in Australia! (I was studying in Germany at the time) The staff on the phone were professional and helpful. After learning that it had been a while since my last dental visit they structured my check-up accordingly. Hygenist Amelia spent a lot of time focusing on both cleaning my teeth and giving me practical advice on teeth care. This high level of service extended to the Dentist Shayda who was also keen to not only provide a service but impart knowledge on a customer keen to learn. I wasn't surprised to learn that I needed fillings and the subsequent session for those was just as impressive (this time with Hygenist Shelley assisting Shayda). So much so that I wasn't even nervous and felt very assured of their ability to go a great job. I walked out of the dental clinic having had a very positive experience. Highly recommended and I already have booked in for my 6-month check-up.

What a wonderful place…read more This review is for all the people who are afraid of going to a public dentist, especially to a learner dentist at a public dental school. I didn't have the money to get my wisdom teeth out, and had to go the public health services route. I am so glad I did! I hopped in the chair and was attended to a student who was not only hot (which was admittedly weird; nobody wants a hot stranger rummaging around in their mouth before at least one good boozy date) but also the most friendly, positive and focused of any dentists I've been to. He was incredibly gentle too and I felt no pain after the first anaesthetic jabs. They suck but they are about the same amount of pain as having blood taken from your arm. A lot of my friends have chosen to have the full anaesthetic while having their teeth extracted. Maybe if you need all four removed at the same time, you might choose that. (I only needed two removed). But I really want to tell you that even for someone like me, who gets shaky at the mere thought of dentists, it is much less painful than you'd imagine. So if you are waiting, quaking in your boots, for some pimply-faced dental student to do a little shop of horrors number on your face, take a deep breath and relax. These guys are being taught so well, both in 'customer service' (otherwise known as being a nice human being) and in dentistry. They'll leave you smiling!

Dr Shadi is your oh so not stereotypical Dentist. He's like a boy with toys - but instead of getting excited about video games, cars or guitars - he gets excited about dental equipment. On first visit to this dentist I had no idea what kind of experiments to expect on my mouth. I had always been told I had "perfect teeth." Yet upon sitting in "the chair" it seemed like by a wave of Shadi's tooth fairy wand - minus the poking and proding and shoving things in your mouth - he knew exactly what was wrong with my teeth and how to fix it. But here's the catch... He explained to me in lamens terms why I needed a filling, what to do with my funky tooth and how over a few short visits I would be sorted out in no time. Arguably this guy isn't as cheap as my childhood dentist but he also pretty obviously highlighted to me some major holes that had been looked over in the past and I felt safe in the hands of a guy who has the latest technology I have ever seen in a dentists before + a friendly, welcoming, "I'm just going to hold your mouth open for a few minutes with this shiny metal rod," attitude to boot! That ain't ever going to happen to me but last 6 monthly visit Shadi (Dr Fashka) made me laugh so much that I couldn't collect myself to open my mouth - now that is incredible. I never conceived that visiting the dentist would be hilarious or that I would ever overcome my anxiety! I originally consulted Caring Dentistry after a desperate attempt on a Saturday to find a dentist open to fix a cracked front tooth. Having been told by my dentist at the time that I would be wait listed at least a week (yeah sure -I am going to go to work looking like I've come off second best in a pub brawl) I fortunately chanced upon Caring Dentistry in my local paper's magazine. FD (former dentist) really did me a huge favour by not squeezing me in, as I was soon to find out the reason my tooth cracked was that I had the evidence of a lifetime's worth of stress induced teeth grinding - something FD had completely overlooked for 25+ years!!! A self proclaimed preventative dentist as previously cited who is passionate about dentistry and ensuring everyone has healthy teeth to the grave. He is a walking dazzlingly smiled advocate of the need to start young and maintain regularly. As difficult as this is when you figure that you are young and healthy this will pay off big time when you hit middle age as you will be reaping the financial dividends of healthy teeth and gums. As Shadi constantly reminds me (and I'm sure all patients) teeth and gums are non renewable resources and once decayed, receded, cracked or ground down there is no turning back the clock without further heavy investment. Caring Dentistry prides itself on being ...caring, informative, educational and highly professional. I only wish I had found Shadi sooner before the rot had set in!!
