I wonder if people use Yelp to find an oral surgeon.. well if I help one person find Dr Glen Carter…read morethen I'm a very happy person. I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed recently (two days ago, so if I'm thinking well of him at this point then he must have done something right) and could not have asked for a better doctor. Not only did he do a wonderful job removing my wisdom, he left hardly any remnants that he did so - I only have minor swelling and pretty much no pain! He has a wonderful bed side manner and is very approachable to ask questions of. All in all it was, I believe, the best possible experience I could have had in having my wisdom teeth removed.
What a wonderful place…read more This review is for all the people who are afraid of going to a public dentist, especially to a learner dentist at a public dental school. I didn't have the money to get my wisdom teeth out, and had to go the public health services route. I am so glad I did! I hopped in the chair and was attended to a student who was not only hot (which was admittedly weird; nobody wants a hot stranger rummaging around in their mouth before at least one good boozy date) but also the most friendly, positive and focused of any dentists I've been to. He was incredibly gentle too and I felt no pain after the first anaesthetic jabs. They suck but they are about the same amount of pain as having blood taken from your arm. A lot of my friends have chosen to have the full anaesthetic while having their teeth extracted. Maybe if you need all four removed at the same time, you might choose that. (I only needed two removed). But I really want to tell you that even for someone like me, who gets shaky at the mere thought of dentists, it is much less painful than you'd imagine. So if you are waiting, quaking in your boots, for some pimply-faced dental student to do a little shop of horrors number on your face, take a deep breath and relax. These guys are being taught so well, both in 'customer service' (otherwise known as being a nice human being) and in dentistry. They'll leave you smiling!

You inspire me to work hard, and maybe one day I can make a difference to the Adelaide community, like what you are doing everyday. For the sake of readers of Yelp, I might as well reveal the the best dentist I've ever had in Adelaide, accompanied by some of the best staff I've ever encountered. After 17 years of not being able to afford braces, and suffering from extremely crooked teeth throughout my schooling years, meeting Dr Laparidis is truly life changing. Thanks to him, now I am able to flash my perfect, straight, pearly whites and say "My Mum's workmates highly recommended you." New visitors will rejoice at how organised his receptionists are. For all the years I've visited there, Georgia and the other receptionists have been so friendly in all their conversations with me. My essential personal information is stored via their computer, important files, x-rays, bills printed out and given to me quickly, payment records accurate (there has never been any incorrect data) and kept safe, and them always saying my first name out loud very clearly before each appointment, gave me a lot of confidence in them. Dr. Laparidis and his staff made me feel very comfortable, even with that massive brace gear shoved all around my gums...It is a Universal fact that getting braces for the first time is going to be an uncomfortable experience, but everytime he works on my teeth, he makes it as pain-free as possible. He gained my trust and belief after the first appointment. Just by reading his aura, I knew he was amazing at his job. I could tell from his great smile, highly energetic and warm greeting, and extremely fast performance (he gets even the most complicated dental tasks done so quickly in less than 5 minutes!). I even once got a free Colgate Total toothpaste to take home because I made Dr Laparidis laugh. I get the biggest smiles before I walk out of there.

It was one of those fabulous internet offers that led me here. I had also received glossy junk mail flyers spruiking this new, flashy, heaven-on-a-stick dental surgery in town. Although my choppers are quite snazzy themselves I'm told, I was dazzled and daunted by the mega movie star grin of the blonde on this paraphernalia, and binned it. Heaven is not too far off the mark at Dental Excellence. Its whiteness is so reassuring it almost provides religious comfort. And therapists are on hand too. Of the relaxation kind. Let me explain. This dental nirvana also exudes spa-like qualities. With aroma therapy, reflexology, hand massage and wafts of relaxation music, you can retain that inner glow whilst having a root canal. Should you prefer wafts of a different kind whilst having your toothy pegs tackled, there's happy gas on tap. Keep it close for when you get the bill. The nitrous oxide won't knock you out but the bottom line sure might. Votive candles aside, the technology here is state of the art. Your jaw will (have to) drop at the intra-oral camera and digital x-ray machine. The latter takes in a complete panoramic view of your mouth. Should you prefer a more picturesque vista, the floor to ceiling windows of Dr Kahn's city rooms look over Hindmarsh Square. Under the care of dental hygienist Meg, you can turn a blind eye to what she's picking away at by availing yourself to the in-flight, sorry, in-chair entertainment. There's an LCD TV and DVD player with about 10,000 movies to choose from, so you can use Keanu as another excuse for drooling.

After 5 years. The previous visit not having even been conducted in Australia! (I was studying in Germany at the time) The staff on the phone were professional and helpful. After learning that it had been a while since my last dental visit they structured my check-up accordingly. Hygenist Amelia spent a lot of time focusing on both cleaning my teeth and giving me practical advice on teeth care. This high level of service extended to the Dentist Shayda who was also keen to not only provide a service but impart knowledge on a customer keen to learn. After a quick floss, I could feel something funny with the back of one of my bottom teeth, which made me really worried. Whilst I try to take good care of my teeth, it had been quite a while since I had been to the dentist. This made me very nervous, I already knew I had a chipped tooth, so I started preparing myself mentally for the countless fillings and three extractions that were certain to follow. I was greeted by a smiling Dr Liz, who was running perfectly on time. After I explained my issue, Dr Liz assured me that is was almost certainly not a chipped a tooth, and that a clean would fix it in no time. Things were explained clearly as the clean progressed, even pointing out that I must be a left handed person because I was significantly better at cleaning the right side of my mouth. Right about now you are probably wondering if I was given a little too much nitrous oxide for my treatment, but the truth is, I actually had a good experience at the dentist... The treatment was so much nicer than the stress I was putting myself through before - and enough to convince me that the recommended annual checkup is a good idea. So for your next dental emergency (or even just the checkup you have been putting off) I recommend this place (and Dr Liz), I am pretty sure you will leave smiling.
