After a few years of forking out quite a lot of money to ensure my teeth were in working order, I…read moredecided to shop around for a new dentist and after multiple recommendations found myself at the doors of Advanced Dental. Advanced Dental is affiliated with several health funds and as someone with BUPA (the old Mutual Community) the amount of money I have to pay for a check up is slashed compared to where I went before. To have my teeth cleaned and polished and checked by the dentist, I pay nothing. Absolutely nothing, my health fund picks up the rest! Such a relief compared to other dentists! The clinic is slick and modern and with TVs in the ceiling, awkward conversations can be negated by watching the telley to fill in your time and with a full suite of specialists, all your care can be done in one place. All the clinicians here present well and are very professional. A lovely place, I reccommend this to anyone looking for a new dentist.

These are the words that greet you on their excellent website and set the tone for what great service is offered at Lucas Dental. The clinic itself is a beautiful building and already makes you feel calmer about being there (because let's face it nobody actually enjoys going to the dentist). There is a huge plasma you can watch to try and distract you from the dentist trauma that is to come and plenty of reading material. The walls are also almost all glass and offers an amazing view of the courtyard below, equipped with tranquil water features and heaps of flora. The staff are lovely and the dentists make you feel so much less stressed. They are very good in explaining your problem and treatments in normal-people terms and make you feel confident in their abilities. They also offer great support regarding finances and will create a payment plan that will suit you and your budget. There is also no pressure to come back straight away; they just let you know what needs to be done and you go ahead and book the appointments as soon as your budget can dictate.

The first thing you notice is how modern the clinic is - right down to the magazines in the waiting area. When was the last time you saw the latest magazines in a waiting area?! There are always newspapers & apples on the counter that you are encouraged to take. After all - an apple a day keeps the doctor (or dentist) away! The staff are all super friendly & the dentist & hygienist really take the time to talk & get to know you - you certainly know you're in good hands. Those big, scary examination chairs are made that bit better with TVs above them so you are distracted from whatever is going on in your mouth! My favourite part is the goody bag you get at the end - complete with a toothbrush, toothpaste, floss & lip balm, as well as a reminder card for your next appointment. No one loves going to the dentist, but these guys do everything possible so you can grin & bear it...see what I did there?

What impressed me the most was a poster of Santorini on the ceiling, rest assured all your worries and dentist woes will go away when you medidate on this 'paper scenery' ;-) The staff are friendly and very helpful. I love the coffee table in the waiting room, you'll have to take a look at the pictures to see why. I'll report back here again after my wisdom tooth extraction, wish me luck Yelpers!!

I first made an appointment here after the appeal of no gap payment on a clean and check up for anyone with health insurance. This makes the place incredible popular and insanely busy, but they still great everyone with a smile and take it all in their stride. My favourite staff member is my hygienist, Abraham, a wonderfully friendly man who is checks in with me every few minutes to make sure I'm okay and tell me how good a patient I am (although, I'm sure he says it to all his patients). The room has a wall of plants at your feet providing a pleasant outlook and there's an adjustable tv to can position overhead to distract you from having a bunch of tools and fingers in your mouth. You can't hear anything over the machines, but then it's fun to guess what they're saying on never-ending soaps such as Days of our Lives. I've just booked in for my January 2012 clean and my son's first dentist visit. I'll review again then as to how they cater for children.

As…read morewith another reviewer, finding out that a 6-month check-up and clean was free to those with private health insurance (even if Extras only), was the catalyst for me to finally go to the dentist. After 5 years. The previous visit not having even been conducted in Australia! (I was studying in Germany at the time) The staff on the phone were professional and helpful. After learning that it had been a while since my last dental visit they structured my check-up accordingly. Hygenist Amelia spent a lot of time focusing on both cleaning my teeth and giving me practical advice on teeth care. This high level of service extended to the Dentist Shayda who was also keen to not only provide a service but impart knowledge on a customer keen to learn. I wasn't surprised to learn that I needed fillings and the subsequent session for those was just as impressive (this time with Hygenist Shelley assisting Shayda). So much so that I wasn't even nervous and felt very assured of their ability to go a great job. I walked out of the dental clinic having had a very positive experience. Highly recommended and I already have booked in for my 6-month check-up.

You inspire me to work hard, and maybe one day I can make a difference to the Adelaide community, like what you are doing everyday. For the sake of readers of Yelp, I might as well reveal the the best dentist I've ever had in Adelaide, accompanied by some of the best staff I've ever encountered. After 17 years of not being able to afford braces, and suffering from extremely crooked teeth throughout my schooling years, meeting Dr Laparidis is truly life changing. Thanks to him, now I am able to flash my perfect, straight, pearly whites and say "My Mum's workmates highly recommended you." New visitors will rejoice at how organised his receptionists are. For all the years I've visited there, Georgia and the other receptionists have been so friendly in all their conversations with me. My essential personal information is stored via their computer, important files, x-rays, bills printed out and given to me quickly, payment records accurate (there has never been any incorrect data) and kept safe, and them always saying my first name out loud very clearly before each appointment, gave me a lot of confidence in them. Dr. Laparidis and his staff made me feel very comfortable, even with that massive brace gear shoved all around my gums...It is a Universal fact that getting braces for the first time is going to be an uncomfortable experience, but everytime he works on my teeth, he makes it as pain-free as possible. He gained my trust and belief after the first appointment. Just by reading his aura, I knew he was amazing at his job. I could tell from his great smile, highly energetic and warm greeting, and extremely fast performance (he gets even the most complicated dental tasks done so quickly in less than 5 minutes!). I even once got a free Colgate Total toothpaste to take home because I made Dr Laparidis laugh. I get the biggest smiles before I walk out of there.

After a quick floss, I could feel something funny with the back of one of my bottom teeth, which made me really worried. Whilst I try to take good care of my teeth, it had been quite a while since I had been to the dentist. This made me very nervous, I already knew I had a chipped tooth, so I started preparing myself mentally for the countless fillings and three extractions that were certain to follow. I was greeted by a smiling Dr Liz, who was running perfectly on time. After I explained my issue, Dr Liz assured me that is was almost certainly not a chipped a tooth, and that a clean would fix it in no time. Things were explained clearly as the clean progressed, even pointing out that I must be a left handed person because I was significantly better at cleaning the right side of my mouth. Right about now you are probably wondering if I was given a little too much nitrous oxide for my treatment, but the truth is, I actually had a good experience at the dentist... The treatment was so much nicer than the stress I was putting myself through before - and enough to convince me that the recommended annual checkup is a good idea. So for your next dental emergency (or even just the checkup you have been putting off) I recommend this place (and Dr Liz), I am pretty sure you will leave smiling.

The expander was widened every month by turning a little lever, which very painfully increased the size of my palate. But anyway, that's another story. For two and half of those years, I visited Orthodontist Marie Reichstein in her offices on North Terrace. I can happily report that now in my early twenties, about five years after having my braces removed, I still have pretty straight teeth. I do have teeny tiny little metal band that holds some of them straight - but hey I'm not complaining, especially not if it works. My experience of the services and treatment offered by Reichstein and her staff was positive. Everyone involved was friendly, professional and to the point. I had little trouble making appointments, and the treatments were always quite brief. All in all, I would recommend this orthodontist.
